  • A few months late 😅 but you asked for this quilt tutorial and I delivered! This is a complicated-looking pattern, but in this beginner quilt tutorial I simplify it into small chunks so anyone can make it! No fancy rulers required, just our trusty HST's.

    I like the idea of making this all with HSTs. I tried making the pattern way back with the traditional method but it wasn’t making sense to my brain. Your teaching method is so clear and concise. Thanks!!

    I love your voice and your teaching level. I’m 83 yrs old, I use to teach quilting also, I taught big block biginners quilting. I haven’t quilted in almost 20 yrs. It’s like starting over at this stage in my life…Thank you so much for awesome demos and teaching.😊❤️

    Thank you posting this. I made a hunter star quilt a year or 2 and I used dark blue print and white and It turned out so pretty. I bought white and green with small white poke a dots yesterday to make another one. I hope you and your family are having a blessed weekend.

      Once you get a handle on the half square triangle, you can do this!! 😄

      If you can do a half square triangle oh, you can do this quilt it looks much more complicated than it really is do one block at a time one section at a time you got this

    I do the same with the pinning of matching seams. It is the only way to get consistency of matching seams with high contrasting fabrics.Pretty! Oh a left and a right! Colors work!

      Yes. You can use a layer of color and a layer of white. It’s a fun pattern!

      If you did a layer cake of solid for your background plus 6 to 8 ten-inch squares of 6 different fabrics, that should be good for a lap size quilt! 😌
