I love this watch. I remember seeing it on their website a while ago, but this edition was sold out. I'm such a fan of the caseback and the best thing about it for me is the perspective trick they play on your eyes. Berlin is one of my favorite cities and this watch really pays the best tribute to it and that lost time of the Weimar Republic. Speaking of tributes, your 70's throwback t shirt is killer. Maybe I will be able to buy this from you, but my spending lately is a little out of hand, but we'll see. Great piece to show off from your store Teddy!
This watch came to my home yesterday, and it's a great piece.
In addition to what Teddy detailed, I noticed that this watch is taller than other Max Bills (presumably due to the caseback); the stark white of the date window background, is a different color than the off-white dial; and the colorless anti-reflective coating works really well. When holding this next to a plexiglass Max Bill in harsh light, there is little to no difference in the amount of glare on the crystal.
Also, I feel like the matte finish of the case (and hands), coupled with the sapphire crystal, makes this piece a good option for everyday wear.
The red hands provide a greater contrast with the dial than the regular silver hands. The lume on the hands is faint. I was able to get the hands to light up after charging them with a flashlight. However, they don't seem to charge up at all under regular, indoor lighting. But, I don't mind because the red hands are my favorite part of this watch.

It resonated with me, when his video said this Bauhaus tribute is apt & fitting as indeed it was designed by a Bauhaus Architect Max Bill & would not exist were it not for the Bauhaus movement.

You can get the manual wind versions of the max bill for around 500 dollars! But they’re 34mm instead of the automatic version’s 38mm.. else I would’ve definitely bought the manual wind (Handaufzug) one!

This looks gorgeous. I think it just added little characteristics to the design while keeping minimalistic of the Bauhaus style. I am curious, does the date wheel numbering following the Bauhaus style font as well or it is just a simple modern font? (especially for the character "4" )
I just received this gorgeous watch last night, and I can confirm the date wheel numbering does follow the Bauhaus style font, with that very sleek “4” character.

Would love to see a direct comparison between the sapphire and Plexiglas versions. I'm sure the domed sapphire reflects light differently than the plexiglass. With AR coating on both sides, I don't see much upside in using a sapphire crystal if it's still going to get scratched.
I own this watch and have compared it side by side to a plexi Max Bill. Under harsh lighting conditions, both watches seem to have the same amount of glare. The colorless anti-reflective coating works well. I have not scratched the outside coating (yet).
Finally, a convex sapphire!

If you are going to review watches for your store, which I think its a fantastic idea, specially since you made a second channel for that, you should wear the watch you are reviewing when talking to the camera, that way people thinking of buying it can somewhat see how it looks like from afar, rather than all the closeups which is usually all we see.

It's a really sophisticated looking piece. I'm glad it's not bigger than a 38mm case, with the full white face it starts to look big. Classy & sporty automatic.

Whats the different between this and the 100 year limited edition? They look very similar aside from the strap.
Its small things, the main one is the date window it red with white writing as oppose to white and red, the hands are black and the engraving on the back is different

16.5cm wrist I think it would be too big.... its a very big 38mm - more like a 42mm
Saw this review on your website, unfortunately, it was sold out. Purchased it elsewhere. Pros: The date is easily read, thinness of the case and the history of Junghans. Cons: The strap is not impressive, ordered a stingray leather from Finstraps to replace.

I suspect it wears larger than it's 38mm, as the dial is relatively broad.
It is a unique wear. It is a small watch in all honesty but it is made up for the fact that there is practically no bezel and it is all dial. Makes it appear larger but with a lug-to-lug under 40 mm, I think that it wears pretty true, just different with this in mind.

Does anyone know if the number 4 in the calendar window is styled the same as the bill max's with numbers on the dial?
This is real important question although I suspect it’s a different font as with the other Max Bills. It’s a bit of a let down for me.

Love the watch and the sapphire crystal I personally think is a upgrade. Shame about the red colour hands. Would have preferred to be plain sliver hands to help the clean brutally simple bauhaus design.
@Teddybaldassarre do you see this piece becoming highly collectable in the future?
Typically there is only a small list of brands that are truly collectable from a mass-market point of view (Rolex, Patek, AP, certain OMEGAs, and others). That answer is also assuming you are thinking about going up substantially in value. I wouldn't put a watch like this in that realm of those brands mentioned, however, I think this will be a nice piece to look back on for german watch enthusiasts or those interested in art and design. I don't see this being a model that will be permanent for the brand either which adds to the intrigue. Really love the look of this one.

Not of this Bauhaus edition style but there are plenty of numeral versions across the max bill range.

Junghans automatic design is very good but the timekeeping is very bad. I will tell the world. I bought two Junghans automatic wristwatches one is gaining minutes and the other is losing minutes. It doesn't worth it to buy such an expensive watch and the timekeeping is not good. Maybe the hand-wound version would be better in terms of timekeeping and accuracy. 6:47

Its absolutely crazy to me that people prize these seriously ugly overrpiced Pateks and Audemars Piguets over this absolute design masterpiece.
I would be all over that if there wasn’t a silly image on the back sapphire obstructing the movement. I hate it when a watch has a display back to show off the movement and then obstructs it with stupid images on the glass. What’s the point??!
It's not worth that much. Have seen it live and i would not pay more than 300€ for this. The material doesn't justify this ridiculous price they charge and there are much cheaper alternatives to this from Iron Annie, bauhaus(point-tec) Sternglass, Tapferkeit etc.
I have a Junghans Max Bill Quartz with a plexiglass crystal. Why has Junghans decided to eschew the fundamentals of Bahaus design and moved towards a sapphire crystal? I'm sorry but any "Bahaus" watch with a sapphire crystal is no longer truly Bahaus, nor is it really a Max Bill. This is marketing over design principles and I'm sure Max Bill is rolling over in his grave right now. 99% of the viewers no nothing about true Bahaus design based on the comments I have seen. Pathetic.

Doesn't the sapphire glass make if more functional, and hence more in line with Bauhaus principles?

Wow, stunning watch. I love the new Sapphire Crystal. I'd rather have this watch than a new Rolex. My only reservation of the Max Bill Automatic is that Junghans goes pure Bauhaus on the dial but then you turn the dial over and there it is, a "corny" illustration on the back. O.K., maybe "corny" isn't the right word. How about, "cheesy?" Nomo does this too with their "Made with Love" engraving. I would eschew the corny-cheesy Junghans and instead choose the 27/4002.46 model. Whew, at least there's an alternative. The problem today is that contemporary designers don't sweat out the details. They wink and, wah-lah, instant success. Then they move on to the House Wives of New Jersey. Guys! Don't just give a nod to the Bauhaus. Study the Bauhaus. The problem with designers today is that they treat history like it were a toy box.
