Pretty sick. I have owned a few Redcats in my life and never really had a problem with any of them. I think they are way better then what a lot of people give them credit for. I actually live about one hour away from their headquarters and warehouse. I was able to take a tour of their warehouse last year. One of the most durable 1/10 scales a lot of people are running out here is the Team Associated Rival MT10. It doesn't suffer from the issues the MT8 had but the MT8 is now coming with the Improved arms and buckles. Maybe if you can get your hands-on the MT10 Would be awesome. The MT8 however is on blowout for $349 at Horizon Hobby. Also the MT8 shares parts with the Redcat Kaiju. Now there is a truck I would like to see run.
MT8 is a very fun truck, but it is very brittle. Every time I took it out (before upgrades) I'd get about 5 minutes on a run before something broke. I upgraded a lot of parts (many of the upgrade parts coming from the Kaiju) and now it's an awesome basher. It has amazing handling and is really fun with the upgrades.
Wow. I already prefer my Vigilante to my Xmaxx but didn't expect this truck to be so good. I've only driven mine once so far and haven't done any serious bashing yet but after a few minor adjustments i think it's gonna be a really good truck. I've not driven another $300 truck that was this good. It is surprisingly stable and handles much better than i expected.

My LHS got his in yesterday. I was there when the truck (fedex) arrived. In 20 minutes all 4 of each were gone! There were 3 'maxx's on the shelf for sale! Told me everything I needed to know.
I ordered mine last week. I think it’s coming today. I have three or four cars coming today and I think that is one of them. I started this RC kick in early June and went crazy since. I got to get some videos up so you could see some of the madness.
Trust me, slow down because your tastes will definitely “mature” (read:you will turn into a connoisseur of the finer things). 😂 seriously one tip I would have is to build a kit so that you gain some mechanical knowledge/confidence. Second tip, as a collector-save up for a few super high quality grail items instead of “wasting” your money on buying more examples of budget items. Not to say there isn’t value in budget items-the Valkyrie is a good example-but there is almost always a compromise somewhere in the design or materials.

I realize I like bashing more than anything because you could do it anywhere I like crawling but you need someplace nice to crawl to make it even more fun. I also like speed, but you need a long stretch for speed, and as far as cars go, I could see the quality difference in so many of them. Unfortunately, sometimes I go a little bananas when I start something it’s a bad trait I have. I also learned that I should most likely always buy hard case batteries they cost a few dollars more but are just safer to run from my understanding and yes, I made a few of those mistakes already. I think I’m just gonna keep the batteries anyway. Also, the more adorable the better because I don’t like fixing trucks or cars. I’m learning but I have to slow down for sure.
@@DropPCTVbuilding a kit (like a classic Tamiya or Kysosho car or a full on race kit) will give you an even better understanding of value in the hobby IMO. It’s definitely an old school opinion since you rarely find kits for bash vehicles.

Ive been dormant in the hobby a while. Just moved, but im bak out on my land with all the room in the world, my shop ive never had the privilege of taking advantage of since ive been in the hobby. I got a couple rigs in pieces in boxes and rt nw im thinking itd be so much easier to just buy the new redcat. Lol. 300$, and its a beast! cmon man.
Hey you take those new lipos you got and charge them up first and discharge them down to storage mode with your charger it's what I do with my lipos and they work so much better

Yes sir roots or a small concrete lip you aren't expecting, my work has a decent amount of property with it and I was running across the front field and was brining it back to me I was under the awning and when I was coming back onto the concrete I didn't know there was a 4 inch lip coming from grass to concrete and man my xmaxx cut 2 front flips and landed on the roof. Not getting into my root stories lol most end naughty bahhahaa

i hear you throttle to get the backflips but not when you try a front flip double tap that break so you get some rev in reverse that will rotate it for a front flip

Clean it good with a garden hose and some dishsoap right after use then make sure you dry it really good with a blower or a pet dryer and lube everything with dry lube. My kraton exb laught at water and mud🤘
@@Johnny6ex that's why you need to dry it real good. I bashed my kraton since january 2024, preordered it and im still on stock bearing they are still good even after months of winter bashing in snow and salt🤷🏻♂️
I bought a pretty clean XMaxx. The guy ran in some water and then put it away for a few months. The motor bearing are seized also trans bearing are seized. Unsure what else is damaged so far.
@@St3_yo yeah I agree . I was think of that . And it should have more ground clearance and bigger tires . That'll be what I'd fix if I got one . I might shoot for the truggy one though .
TBH all of their new trucks have goofy looking proportions, at least compared to what we are used to. Too long, too low and sometimes like with the Machete, not wide enough for its length. But they appear to perform.

If I didn’t already have too many RCs I would be all over the $350 MT8. That is a great value. I couldn’t resist the $250 MT10.

For RC planes we make helmet/hat cams to record while we fly. Should give it a try so you can use both hands.

I’ve done that and don’t like the results at all. In some ways I’m simply better driving one handed than with 2 hands at this point.

I like water mud on trucks but they are shit you know any good trucks for wet abuse or tips
