    Mike you need to play both Megaman 1 and 3 as well. When you complete them you get to play the Wily Tower game which is an aditional Wily Castle stage that allows you to pick and choose from all weapons from Megaman 1 to 3. It's pretty fun.

    Hey Mike, try this on Sega Genesis Mini. It runs at 60hz refresh rate and does not have the slow downs you experienced. Much smoother and fun experience. Some of the games like mega Man 1 are harder with the removal of the glitches as well like the pause glitch.

  • @mrmacross

    There is one aspect of this game that's a lot easier on Wily Wars than the NES originals. The knock back when you get hit is a lot less extreme. I remember I had trouble against the dragon in Wily 1 on the NES because whenever the dragon hit me, I'd be knocked off the block unless I was all the way on the left on the blocks, but in this version it's more forgiving.

      Crimson Skeletons
      The original Japanese version (Rockman 2) only had the Difficult mode. It only read "Press Start" on the title screen, like this one does. Developers added the _Normal_ mode internationally, which as far as I know means double damage for your weapons against enemies and bosses, and those column enemies get destroyed in one hit instead of breaking apart and reforming.
      I guess this version based it on the original version.

      On Wily 5, I tried using my general NES strategy, so beating the eight robot bosses was pretty easy, but I usually used quick boomerangs to beat the second form of Wily. When I found out that boomerangs don't work and I was low on metal blades, I looked up to see if Wily had a different weakness in Wily Wars (he does). In the end, I decided to use the charged heat shots against Wily instead of Wood Man, which ended up making the stage a lot harder because without Heat Man's weapon I take a lot of damage against Wood Man.

  • @CulpritKnight
    @CulpritKnight 5 лет назад

    13:45 Explained Like so people can see.
    They wanted to make it easier to get near edges. So they made him take a small step if you are not moving. All it does it make you wait a few frames before you start running.
    Megaman takes a small step before he starts moving. If you are already running and turn around he will not stop. But if you stop for an instance he will always take a small step before running again.
    It is not Lag, it not input lag, it is a game "feature" that was not in the NES versions. It was meant to help you get close to the edge as possible without falling off. They had the CASUALS in mind.. and not the Retro-Elite. What a shame.

Since it is PS1 there isn't slowdown nor sprite flickering. They were the basis for the Anniversary Collection and later Legacy Collection. However, no other version has pocketstation support with which you can level up Megaman and the main bosses to level 99 and make the game extremely easy or slightly harder. Leveling up increases both offense and amount of health. Anyway, that's all for now, bye.

    Hmm, slow down on the Genesis. This one of the early Capcom games for a SEGA system, guess they didn't master Blast Processing back then.

      @duffman18 6 лет назад +1

      theimporter yeah it's a bit weird cos the Genesis was usually way better in terms of lack of slowdown compared to the SNES. The main issue with this is they didn't put their A-team onto it to make sure it was completely optimized. Mega Man has always been kind of shunned by Capcom. They made mega man 2 in their spare time because they weren't allowed to make it a proper capcom project.

    The music on this is awful. It sounds really tinny and bizarrely distant. I didn't even grow up with NES, and you can tell the NES track is better within seconds.

  • @cachos-story-lab

    I really don't like the sound. The original sounds like a cross between an analog synth, with basic waveforms (kinda like oscilloscope music) mixed with a PC speaker. A lot of the music emerges because of the limitations of the system. Bubbleman and,the robot music sound ok but metalman, stage select, robot intro just sound plain. Same goes for the sound effects.
    As an electronic engineer I would say this music is basically embedded system music and given the personality of megaman it makes perfect sense. But general midi is just that generic.
    That said for something like Castlevania any sound improvement enhances the experiencr but here we have a dilution of the metallic, thin, and abrasive machine sound.
    It's a cool game and I would love to play. Its just this really caught my attention and would take it into consideration when composing my own chiptunes for example
