Hopefully someone can add a little clarity here(?) When doing an OBD relearn, it seems odd that after (step 3 @ 1:38) you "write sensor IDs", "leave ignition ON" (I'm assuming you now have to UNPLUG the TS508 from the OBD port to allow a person to perform the next step?), "Re-scan each sensor" , then "switch OFF, and then switch ON the ignition" (step 4) My confusion comes when after scanning the sensors the second time, it never mentions anything about re-connecting the TS508 to the OBD2 port(?) Why would that step (scanning the sensors after the OBD2 connection) not require a second connection to the OBD2 port? Can you explain why the second scanning step is required? Is it just to 'wake' the sensors up before going on the relearn drive cycle? Obviously, the ECU isn't going to be able to do anything with any information you retrieved from scanning the sensors the second time *if* the TS508 is never plugged back in to the OBD2 port(???) I'm assuming that is must be a step to wake the sensors up before the relearn drive cycle? I hope the way I explained this makes sense, and you are able to clarify what it is that seems somewhat confusing to me. Thank you for your time!
I also noticed this step.. is it really needed ? It is not prompted from the 508 screen when doing steps I have issue where my sensors are visible in BMW x3 F25 but after turning ignition off and on I get fail icon and info 481F82 mounted wrong wheel electronic Unknown wheel position (reading from OBd) Basically pairing /re learning worked perfectly and I saw pressure on my dashboard on each wheel… but then my car performed auto reseat and displayed RDC error first flashing then solid tyre amber icon..
@@wakenwaken3618 I am sorry my reply is so late, and hopefully you found a solution to your issue. With the vehicle I was working on (2011 Nissan), I found that ignoring the steps explained here in this video, and simply following the prompts(steps) listed on the Autel screen is what worked for me.
clear and simple video. thank you. one question: i follow your procedure but toward the end (after plugging in the OBD cord to the car) and pressing continue, I get a enter information failed. what am i doing wrong? thanks
@@FlashPerformance just purchased it. so I am a new to it. one of the first things I did was updated it. i also made sure that i turned on the truck after the tool successfully read each tpms. (this problem started when I purchased some 2015 ford f150 rims and tires and slapped them on a 2008 frod f150). so i have that dreaded low tire icon lit up.
One step that got missed in the video was, you have to scan the spare tire even if it doesn't have a sensor to go to the next screen and be able to connect to the car.
Hello, how do I turn the tool off? I hate leaving it on til it eventually goes off by itself. Thank you so much for your time and help. And making a great tool! Happy New Year!
Yes, as long as the sensor has been programmed the Autel tool and read and write it to the vehicle. If the sensor is blank the Autel tool will no be able to program it. From what I am seeing the TYC sensors are blank and need to be programmed first with another tool.
I got some second hand lexus rx350 winter tires, and they come with tpms sensors. When I scan the ID's, and go to program them and choose Program by OBD I get "Communicating with the vehicle. Please wait"
First I would check to make sure the tool is updated. Then before scanning the sensors plug into the vehicle and see if you can diagnose the TPMS system to make sure you don 't have any codes, and this will also confirm that the tool can speak with the vehicle. Check the relearn procedure in the vehicle.
Hi i have a question i just swap all 4 sensors from my honda 08 and activation it using the maxitpms ts508 but it still shows that the ecu id doesnt match the car and the light for the tpm sensor turn on this morning could I be doing something wrong
Hi, I was wondering if I could use MaxiTPMS508 to program my vehicle with new IDs? I purchased a set of second-hand rims and installed them on my car. I would like to get them recognized by my car without having to remove the tyres for programming. Is there a solution for this kind of application?
As long as those sensors were meant for your vehicle it should not be an issue. you will simply read all the sensors, then program them to the vehicle. The TS508 will have no problem with this.
The Autel tool can only PROGRAM / CLONE their own brand of MX sensors, but it can READ / SCAN / ACTIVATE and OBD RELEARN any current brand of TPMS sensor. This is a common question and often the wrong answer is given, leading customers to think they can COPY / CLONE existing OEM sensor IDs into any aftermarket sensor, and that is simply not the case.
Hello, I have two set of tires summer and winter, when I like to relearn TPMS functions with TS508, is it possible with this device to set in memory (Toyota RAF 4 2019) main and second set of tires? If yes, how it works?
If you scan all the sensors in your current wheels, you can copy each of them and put the same ID into the second set of tires. This way when you swap tires the vehicle will not even know the difference. Use the TS508 and the Autel MX sensors. Here is a video on that process with my Toyota ruclips.net/video/EKBZHZo9w2Q/видео.html
As long as the used sensor is meant for that specific vehicle you wold just do the normal relearn process. However if the sensor is from a different vehicle and is not compatible it will never relearn.
@@theemazing In 2017 the sensors in the Yukon could be either 315MHz or 433 MHZ, the 2021 Sierra has 3 different type of sensor options. Most likely you will need to replace the sensors with new ones to get them to relearn.
@@FlashPerformance is there a way to determine that. I’ve been able to find the tire sensors 433mhz. However I can’t figure out how to see what the car is looking for.
Too bad the TS508WF doesn't actually seem to work when you follow the steps... Even though Discount Tire and Schrader both assured me that it should be able to do it with my 4 Schrader sensors that came on my tires. It picked up their air pressure and brand name but it will not locate them for any Relearn procedure; not even with the tires at 8 pounds.
The Schrader sensors that are in the tires, were they pre programmed? The Schrader EZ sensors come blank and need to be programed with a tool other then the Autel. Once they are programmed the Autel can read and relearn their positions. The weird part is you are saying it picked up the air pressure, and brand name, If it is getting that information it should also have the sensor ID, that is the key to doing the relearn.
Hopefully someone can add a little clarity here(?)

If you are wanting to do a TPMS relearn, then yes, the TS508 can do a position relearn on you Subaru WRX
Autel only "programs" their own MX sensor, so unless that's what you have, then it will not "program" anything for you.
