Halfway through and this is fire!! I'm a 21yr old father of 2. This podcast has helped inspire me to be a better husband and father. I currently preach at my church the first Sunday of each month. We definitely have a lack of men in our church..which is a small church. We have no people close to my age. I'm hoping to create a ministry focused on helping young men to be first Godly and secondly masculine. Appreciate prayer from all that I could get this going

My Pastor is a Jiu Jitsu black belt. As a leader first and foremost you have to be able to defend yourself and those you love.

Very good and very true. Something I've long battled with is how soft and weak Christian men can seem and how my picture of Jesus has been this soft lamb, zen guru, kind of guy. Glad to learn that he's not that and that he's both lamb and lion. Wow. Relieved to hear it

This is awesome. I have been having a tough time in Medical School and in my long-distance relationship growing in my faith. I will be making goals and trying your devotionals.

    Unless I missed it.
Did you do a podcast about worship music?
Oddly enough, the only one I like that's done in my church is lion of Judah.

People really need to see this channel. I would love to see you bring Brandon Tatum on and him have you on. Might be the spark you need. I want to see this channel explode because it's really good.

Those of us who are “feminine” can’t be used by God?

It’s not “Grace and Truth” like they’re two separate and opposing ideas, it’s “True Grace”, using the singular verb in the Greek in John 1:17. The contrast is made between the Law (harsh, unbending, demanding) on one side, and true grace (undeserved favor, unconditional love, constant blessings) on the other. In the Old Testament, Jesus and His Grace were hidden in types and shadows. His true nature and agenda were revealed in His life and ministry, but even more so in His finished work at the cross. His payment for our sins at the cross allowed Him to finally fully express His true nature of love for mankind.
If you’re wanting to see God’s judgment on the ungodly, instead of wanting to see them repent and accept God’s grace and forgiveness, you might have some self righteousness in your thinking that you’re not aware of.
I understand the frustration with the feminization of culture and how that’s crept into the church over the years, but preaching condemnation and judgment is not the Gospel we’re supposed to be preaching to the world. We should warn people of the coming wrath, but only in the context of the Gospel of Grace that Paul preached.
“Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭13‬:‭38‬-‭39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Sorry for bombarding your comments. But I never fit the stereotype of a “man’s man”. I have SSA. I don’t like to rough house. I know nothing about sports. I know nothing about trucks and tractors. So I don’t have a place in the church? Yet, I raised 11 children, seven of them boys. All of them love the Lord and are faithful. The oldest is a minister. But by your definition,
Your perspective of the experience of men with SSA does not resonate with me at all. Nor does it with fit with any of the men with SSA I know. The church in general rejects us.
I’m so thankful for a church full of godly men who called me into true manhood. Most of these men would fit your definition of manhood. But they don’t expect me to fit that stereotype. I don’t have to walk with a swagger and spit every three minutes to be a “real” man.

Also, what do you do with the examples of Jonathan and David? Of Paul’s friends falling upon his neck and weeping because they would not see his face anymore? Of John, who leaned on Jesus’ breast?
Look up Sy Rogers. You are saying he had no place in the church? Yet he turned away from a transgendered lifestyle. He stood firm on what Jesus was calling him into. He got married, though it terrified him. He became a father. He was a bold testimony that God created them male and female. He stayed firm even after the whole “ex-gay” movement became ridiculed. Yet, he doesn’t fit your definition. You consider Sy a lamb. I consider him a roaring lion.

Continuing here, a couple of weeks ago, our 4 year old grandson (one of our 22 grandchildren), was over. He was playing with the baby dolls. Our teenaged daughter told him, “Boys don’t play with dolls.” I quickly corrected her and told him, “Some boys do.”
Why did I do that? Because you should have seen the shame and embarrassment on Japheth’s face when she said that. “Real” boys don’t play with dolls. Japheth likes to play with dolls. So he must not be a “real” boy. Maybe he is gay. Or maybe he is transgendered.
OR… maybe he is a real boy who likes to play with dolls. But so many plant those seeds of doubt in children’s minds.
Like I said earlier, we had 11 children, close together (16 years between oldest and youngest). I rocked babies. I changed diapers (we used cloth and yes, I washed them out in the toilet also), I got up at night with children who were throwing up. I cleaned house. I mowed the yard. I washed our vehicles. I kept the garden weeded. In our conservative Mennonite culture, all of those are considered to be primarily “women’s work”.
But I don’t feel I’m less of a man because I took responsibility for those things.
When I came to the Lord, I was mainly comfortable with women. All my life, my close friends had always been girls. But when I came to the church, the men embraced me. I didn’t have to suddenly start liking tractors, or trucks, or hunting (I’m awfully glad my boys like to hunt though, I love venison, I told them if they shoot Bambi’s mother, I will eat her!).
My brothers in Christ did not look at me with disdain as “feminine”. They befriended me. They surrounded me. Gradually I became comfortable around them, just being me. And to my shock, my sexual attraction toward men began to diminish. And even more of a shock, my attraction toward women increased (hard lesson learned there though, God was no more pleased when I finally lusted after a woman than he was when I lusted after a man, hard for some men to accept that fact…).
Today, ALL of my good friends are men. That is what happened when godly men loved me and accepted me for who I am. And even sociologists will say this is true: you start acting like those you are around the most. A little leaven leavens the lump, only in this case it was not a negative.
I think you have good intentions. I admire much about you. But please don’t cut us “feminine” out with your contempt.

And why do I have a feeling you've always resented it? You can't be what other men are so you resent them for it. Nothing wrong with being a nerd.

So if I don’t fit the stereotype of masculinity, if I don’t believe in using foul language (like the title), I’m not a “real man”, huh?

So now, I have to admit I stopped listening half way through. Now I finished the video. Your explanation at the end seems to be in contrast to everything else you said.
