What are some of your camping purchases that have become instant favorites?
New favorite - Northern Red Oak Bucksaw from the Adventure Sworn Bushcraft Company out of New York State. I love that thing! It's a little spendy but it's awesome! I would take this thing over my Silky Saw any day!

I just started my camping RUclips channel this past summer. I am television producer but I love the outdoors and camping, but I kinda suck at it, so one of my first purchases was a ferro rod, and I love that thing, I still can't believe how well it works. The other thing that I love is a simple aputure light for shooting my night scenes and campfire shots. Thanks for the video, I head out on my first winter camping trip this week.
My little collapsible camp chair by far. At 71, setting on the ground or a cold stump just doesn't cut it anymore!!🤠

Nice overnighter, Pizza looked good I also Like the Brussel sprouts. Spent 4 days down in west KY the week of Christmas. So much destruction but all my family was ok.

Nice video Rob. I cringe every time i see someone axing on a standing dead, my buddy got knocked out in the big woods and had a severe concussion when the top of the tree broke and hit him in the head. Please be careful!

Coffee is essential when outdoors in the cool/cold weather!!! I love my big Stanley thermos when going out kayaking/fishing during the day.... it's so much easier than making cup after cup on a stove or fire when camping too!

What my wife and I did was use those sleeping bag liners as sort of sheets to keep the inside of the bag cleaner, since it's a lot easier to launder than the bag

Can I make a suggestion on making coffee? All you need to do is pour the grounds and water into a metal cup, half the water you need for the coffee, bring it to a boil and wait until all the grounds are thoroughly mixed into the water, then pour the remaining cooler water over top. The cool water will shock the grounds to the bottom of the cup. Let it sit over the fire for another 45 seconds to a minute just make sure that it's back up to temp after pouring the cool water in it and then drink. It's one of the best cups of coffee you'll ever have; just watch out for that last sip. It's way more bushcrafty too; all you need is the coffee and the metal cup and you're good to go. I actually make my coffee at home this way a whole lot. Cheers!

I don't think I've had coffee unfiltered before, like cowboy coffee?
@@BrooksandBirches i dont know how that goes... the way most people do it where i live is just put the coffee and the sugar into the cup or mug and poor hot water over it... then you put just a bit of cold water and that makes the tailings all sit neatly at the bottom... by far the fullest coffee flavor i know... i tried many shops and machines and occasionally they are ok but usually on the watery side for me

I just tried brussel sprouts last week for the first time and I'm 39. Fried them in bacon fat, I've been missing out my whole life.
I think a liner adds 5 or 6 degrees.
Why would you balance your 🪓 on the side of the tree then sit underneath to have a hot drink?
Someone I know a bit from the Church I go to dies sprouts as a business.
I can't think of his company name but he & his family have a greenhouse where they grow them & other things.

If it was me, Rob, I would have lost the pizza sauce and used olive oil instead because the meat and Brussels sprouts looked yummy...Happy New Year (& sharpen your axe!)
Love all the great angles of your filming. In addition to everything we see, do you also bring 2-3 cameras with tripods? I also like to bring old work gloves for fire tending.

Happy holidays Robert, I enjoy all your content but I must say that you always seem to look a bit unprepared for tasks needed for camping lol. Nothing outright bad per say, but there's always simpler ways of getting things done with the right tools and techniques.. Can't forget your episode with the bivvy and the endless rainfall lol, you were miserable, wet and cold but you pulled through... That's what I like about your channel, stay safe, stay warm, next time walk with some butter to sautee those veg and meat.. Have a great evening and a happy 2022..
