    Like the design of the rain fly. Plenty of extra space. There's several RUclips videos on how to modify the Stanley cook set for bail handle and to replace the plastic tab on the lid. Take care Rob.

    I use my Stanley cookset all the time. I drilled 2 smale holes on either side just under the rim, and bent a metal coat hanger into a removable pot hanger. Works great!

    With so much room in there when it does rain you could set up your canister stove to eat or for coffee, you could almost leave doors open and unless strong wind you could stay dry and still see outside and converse with friends- have a party; LOL great video

      @BrooksandBirches  2 года назад

      That's a great idea! It has plenty of room to hang out under that's for sure! I'm imagining bringing a full length foam pad to hang out on out front there during the day and stuff if its raining, just relax and read etc

Arizona and that area are so beautiful and yes you will get out of the snow and into the sun. Hopefully!! I can't wait to see you and your brother. Gotta love playing in the woods. Enjoy now at 69 as I did 60 years ago. The big fly will be very handy in not so good weather. Love the Stanly cookset. Got to say it did put me to sleep last night not because it's boring but soothing. Thanks and keep it up.

    That tent is very similar to my Nemo Dagger Porch 2P except I like the door design on your's better. I absolutely love having basically a tent + tarp combo in one lightweight package. So good for hanging out during a rainstorm. The porch area works great with a helinox chair zero and a little table.

    • @BrooksandBirches
      @BrooksandBirches  2 года назад +1

      Thats exactly what I'm thinking! I love my tarps don't get me wrong but I've found when I hang them above my tents the water has a tendency to roll off one side and cause whatever side of the tent that is to pool up with water so this seems like a better option and use a tarp over the fire pit instead

    Nice set up, Rob! Back in the day, we used Vango, canvas Force 10, when touring the Highlands, North Wales and on occasion, Cornwall. I enjoyed Cornwall, although I never felt I'd been away. I love the mountains and wilderness and I'm happiest when I'm on my own. We also had the lighter weight nylon but, there was nothing to beat canvas. Although, it did need more careful looking after. Not once did we ever have to abandon camp. You've rekindled my interest and I must confess I've started looking at kit! What do you think about duel fuel stoves? I've been looking at the Coleman 533? Until next time, stay safe. 🇬🇧

    • @BrooksandBirches
      @BrooksandBirches  2 года назад +1

      Yeah I have a couple of the canvas tent right now and I must admit they are awesome and they feel much more secure and well made than the super lightweight stuff we have these days but they're also pretty heavy lol! I've personally never used the 533 but Coleman make great stoves! I know Coleman have branched out into different stuff over the years but their stoves is where they really shine and personally you can't really go wrong with a classic Coleman stove
