As someone who is starting to learn all this stuff on his own this is extremely helpful! Thank you! I would also be interested in the vocal part too if that’s an idea for the future
For the newbies like me in reaper, you can set a track with note names and wire a midi controller if you have one and save it as a preset so you can later just "add new track from preset"
I’m currently working on designing a riff righting framework, and videos like this are awesome! Hearing the way you approach writing and your unique ideas are very useful 🤘😃
Amazing! and you did it with the bare minimal hardware and software... nice vid, would you do one using one virtual drummer like the one in EZDrummer or Logic Pro?
My biggest issue for a long time was i have no problem writing riffs, melodies, chords etc as im always inspired and just jam and stuff comes up. But my problem was Id have 200 seeds but when trying to take a riff and grow it id just draw blank not knowing what to do next or how to grow it into a song.
@@troglobb 1 thing i started don't was taking a song that inspired me and breaking it down and seeing what they did and try and see how they got from A to B. That and id watch as many bands in the studio vids that i could find. What i learned is it's just like practicing guitar, the more you do it the easier it is. Stop i started messing around and saying today I'll write a blink182 song or a Gojira style song and that actually helped.
Your superior drum map for a scratch track to follow along with is for mac not windows. How do I do this on Windows? How are you making that simple beat to follow along with in superior drummer. I have superior drummer 3 on windows.
There's no difference between mac and windows, I just happened to have a drum track already made. I'm working on a video on MIDI and making drum tracks will be part of that. Not done yet though
Something super odd with the RUclips algorithm.. it's showing me videos with 413 likes (this one now got one more!) - this is the third in a row 😂 Edit: it's probably more likely that RUclips is just showing me the wrong number of likes😅

I have the exact same issue! It´s so frustrating, I have a riff and got no idea how to follow it up, or I just turn it into shit.

That's how David Gilmore wrote his riffs. He called it "scat"
Wow, I had no idea :-).
yeah that just show me im a total failure when talking about music
How do you mean? Talking about music might be important but making it is more important...

Like exactly 413? This one only has 129 though (thanks for the additional one! 🎉), so I'd say it's more likely youtube showing the wrong number...
@@osiris-guitarguess so! anyway really enjoyed the video, it's really informative to see the whole process and your reasoning and choices throughout
I believe RUclips is showing the wrong amount, I can across similar things with other videos
