My dad showed me a trick. Put the Dacron covered foam in a huge lightweight black garbage bag, use a vacuum and suck the air out then push the compressed cushion in. You can then tear out the plastic bag. There are more tricks to use a open bag and then sliding it out but it’s way to hard to explain. Maybe I will get my dad to make a video. 😆
You just saved me so much frustration, omg, thank you, yes, duh, that is a brilliant, but yet simple solution...I've been sitting here on my living room floor for hours with my giant fat cushion trying to not ruin it by squishing it all up at the top and smashing & ripping the foam and batting as I push it in. I think my cushion cover shrunk a tiny bit when I washed it or something, idk,but it won't fit like it did when i took it out..But you my dear new friend, well your Dad, wheew, thank you saved me. Im just so thankful you posted your comment on this video i was watching! Thank you, thank you, and ya, your Dad totally should put a video up doing that. But I do believe im going to record myself doing it right now. So if you don't mind,Ill post my video, (so as long as it doesn't end up looking like I'm some idiot trying to put a king size mattress into a twin size pillow case)and if it works for me, I would totally be happy to give All the credit of the idea to you and your awsome Dad.😊
Wow! Thank you guys for being such inspiration and helps other to be brave too! I love my couch and now I won’t worry about it wearing down because I can do this same process and get a second life out of this great couch. Really appreciate the time and effort of sharing this video and project. ❤
Good job! I would not have thought of purchasing only the foam, have them cut it, and reinsert it. By the way, you can also cut 2 dacron shapes for each back pillow and then refill the center, in-between the dacron, with the polyfil. This helps with the shape and you need less polyfil to fluff.
Thanks for video. After looking at my seat cushions my, all I needed to do was replacing the poly wrapping. My seat cushion look new again! Thanks again!
I loved what you did , please can you tell me from where you ordered them & what is the best size to buy to last you longer ??? Thank you that’s what I was looking for .
Pretty great! The couch is now about 12 years old, but the stuffing feels pretty good. It's definitely not as stiff as when we first did it, but it's still very comfy.
Soooo glad i clicked on this! thank you both, amazing job on your couch...it literally looks brand new. i purchased a couch mostly for its look, the seating foam is not wrapped in dacron and maybe a medium firm? do you think by just adding a dacron wrap might do it? or should i replace the foam with i higher quality like your? thanks!
Great video! Would've been good to know the weight & the compression number of the foam and how it felt. This is one of the most difficult aspects of choosing the correct foam.
It looks great and great video I've been wating to restuff my couch and just realized I have a zipper on my arm rests and idk how I would restuff those becuase they cant be removed for the couch here stitched on like the back cushion are any tips
What a brilliant job you've all done. Thank you for sharing.
I Just saw your video today ,how bless I am to see tonight just brought foam today.
The cushions look brand new. Awesome job guys.🛋

Looks like a new couch 😮 you guys did a awesome job👌
thanks for this video. I watched a lot of them and yours is by far the most helpful.
Great video! I was planning to stuff the back couch cushions but now I may take the entire couch on. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR VLOG! 😊
Good job 👍🏾 I'm encouraged
You got me feeling hopeful. Thanks for sharing this
... you did a great job ... both on the couch and making this video ...
This is my exact couch! Drives me CRAZY .
The foam is a steal. We went to a Jo Ann's Fabrics here in San Diego and they wanted like HUNDREDS for one or two pieces of foam.
Good job! I would not have thought of purchasing only the foam, have them cut it, and reinsert it. By the way, you can also cut 2 dacron shapes for each back pillow and then refill the center, in-between the dacron, with the polyfil. This helps with the shape and you need less polyfil to fluff.
Interesting, great point on the back cusions!
good idea!
The couch look great ❤ pity there were no before photos...
Looks great. Go State!
I’m totally trying this 🙌🏼
I have the same fabric couch in chocolate. Got ours in 2012 and you can tell where the adults sit. Thanks for this video
Do it!
Me too!! I'm going to try soon
Great job my dad and I done this for a living and he approves ❤️
Awsome video. Thank you 😊
Thanks for video. After looking at my seat cushions my, all I needed to do was replacing the poly wrapping. My seat cushion look new again! Thanks again!
Yay! I'm so glad!
Love the tips. I must say- is that a spider in the end running up on the cushion?? 10.11
Y’all did great ! Love the video♥️
Great Video! Thanks for Sharing!
Thank you!
Thanks, this will be my next project.

Hi! What type of fabric is the couch?
I fold mine inside out when putting back on. It’s a whole lot easier 😊
Really good video, I will do this with my couch!
Thank you
The back cushions…did you remove the old batting before adding the new filling?
Thank you for sharing this!
This video was very helpful! Thank you!!
This was super handy, thank you! :)
This gives me confidence to buy those expensive couches and refill when time to , thx for the video
AMAZING!!!!!❤❤❤
This is great
I loved what you did , please can you tell me from where you ordered them & what is the best size to buy to last you longer ??? Thank you that’s what I was looking for .
We asked at a local upholstery shop. Maybe look around for one in your area
Thank you , I will for sure .
Looks GREAT
Did y'all pull out the old batting or just add the new to the old? Awesome job btw!
We put on new.
Nice ...i will try it...your look nice too
where did you purchase your foam and what was your density and IFD numbers?
Great!
Wish I had seen this video before we sold our old one and bought a new one!
OMG that store! Where is it & what is the name of it? Thank you-
It's called Tempe Sales and it shut down during Covid. :(
What density number was the foam?
Omg I have this same sectional in olive
How is your new couch holding up?
Pretty great! The couch is now about 12 years old, but the stuffing feels pretty good. It's definitely not as stiff as when we first did it, but it's still very comfy.
Great job, ill be giving this a go :o
We have loved it!

If the foam is still firm a re wrap might be good enough!
Great video!
Would've been good to know the weight & the compression number of the foam and how it felt.
This is one of the most difficult aspects of choosing the correct foam.
I missed where you ordered the foam & dacron. Please list info.
I bought it at a local upholstery shop
@@PullingCurls do you just give them them the measure and they cut it for you?
Great video thanks for sharing
Are your cushions now foam only or did you just put foam over the springs?
I did not have any springs, just foam with padding over the top.
It looks great and great video I've been wating to restuff my couch and just realized I have a zipper on my arm rests and idk how I would restuff those becuase they cant be removed for the couch here stitched on like the back cushion are any tips
That is weird. I am not sure!
Use garbage bag and vacuum to put pillows back in Cover
Good video but you could have just removed the old batting and replaced it with thick batting.. but good video!!! Couch looks brand new!!
The old foam was shot.....
Yea you did you much you could have just bought some poly fill. The point is to save money.
I wanted them firm tho..... We def saved money yho
She talk soo much
Too much talking
Get to the point quicker
