Thank you so much! I paid almost 4lk for a new custom sofa and the bench cushion collapsed after 13 months & I am the only one sitting on it! This video has been very helpful - Thank you.
Hugely help for getting new couch cushions! My enemy peed on my cushions. They really tied the room together! Luckily, foam factory was there to hook me up with replacement cushions ASAP.
For this video, we used 30lbs on each piece. Keep in mind that the weight will distribute differently over different sized cushions/variables of how a person's weight is distributed on the cushions. The video is to demonstrate that we offer different firmness levels in foam products.
good presentation! does your company have something suitable for motorcycle seat? is lux hq too soft for such? my present 3" thick one is OLD and flaky, no good anymore, thanks
Sir, first I’d like to thank you for creating this detailed video, but forgive me if I miss your explanation given in your demonstration, but I’m a heavy guy and I could tell exactly what weights the plates were, that you placed on the various cushions in your demonstration. Perhaps you might help me if I gave you my body weight, and you might suggest to me what you would believe to be the best cushion for a person weighing between 275- 300 pounds? I found it interesting to learn from your video, that there is a real specific difference, between, “density & firmness!” So, if someone could, kindly give which cushion your company could please recommend with my listed weight I'd given above. Thank you. Respectfully, -Larry
Hello! I recently purchased some of your foam. It's fantastic! I layered 3" super soft over 4" lux. I love it, but I am concerned that the super soft will not hold up over time. Would replacing the super soft with an inch or two of HED36 accomplish the same texture? Thank you!
We would suggest replacing the Super Soft with 3" of HD36 foam for durability and comfort. Super Soft foam is typically used for seat backs or bedding. Super Soft is typically not used in seating applications.
I ordered the lux HQ for my couch cushions. These are great for me as i am 280lbs but for my wife they are way to stiff. I just reordered the HD36HQ so i hope this helps my wife from complaining about sitting on a brick. Is there a reasonable difference? I cant buy another set so this is it.
I have a powerchair for my severe Lymphoma and Swelling, due tomy Congestive - Congetital Birth Defect of my Heart.... I'm 500lbs overweight... what would you say a good foam dencity be... Merry Christmas...! Thank you for the video... I know how to detect what type of weight foam to get...Thank You...
Not really. He said there isn't a direct correlation between level of firmness and density like you might think, and that higher density equals longer lasting no matter the firmness rating. This was exactly the information that I was looking for. Not mentioned by the gentleman in the video, but if you're looking for the longest lasting, most durable foam, generally natural latex foam will be your best bet. However, it is _heavy_ stuff, and needs to be protected from liquid moisture.
I have a brand new golf cart which has a very firm seat. I was thinking about replacing and recovering the foam, maybe with one of your LUX products, though it appeared firmer than the HD product. I don't want to bottom out with a softer product but definitely need something more comfortable. Do you have a recommendation?
What foam is best for a tractor or zero turn mower seat for heavy operators? Looking to reduce shock to the back since tractors and mowers have no suspension.
Typically what is used for heavy duty use seating is rebond foam or neoprene foam. www.foambymail.com/product/rebond-foam.html www.foambymail.com/neoprene-rubber.html
We currently do not carry a firm polyurethane foam that is fire retardant. However, we do carry closed cell foam that is fire retardant that is firm as well. It is the MInicel LF200, link to that is www.foambymail.com/product/minicel-lf200.html
I want a high density foam that is also pretty firm. There are some family members that are big guys (6'9" and 6'7") and I want them to be comfortable and I want the cushion to LAST
Nice video, what about computer chair cushion replacement? I can't believe how many of these cushion on amazon have giant holes in them, well that might be ok for a tail bone, but the hole is so big I'm pretty sure sitting on them long term is going to be bad for developing other issues if ya know what I mean. If doughnut cushions were good for you they would make them that way originally. I'm about 215 and I need to elevate my seat cushion by about 3 inches (Arms of the chair are to tall). So what thickness would a person need get get around that if looking at a Lux-R ?
i am looking at your site and would like to buy something for my needs if i may explain, i am 6'3 and 290lbs back in october 11, 2023 i received a 3" piece of foam 22"x22" from a different retailer (Density 2.24 LB/CF ) - i sit on it every day for 8-12 hours while working from home 7 days a week it already has flat spots from my butt and near the knees - and when i sit on it first thing in the morning, after about 20 minutes its flat and my butt hurts and my back hurts which foam from your site would be best for my situation? cost is not an issue thanks in advance
@@cavalli821 hi cavalli821 , my employer ended up buying me a new desk/computer chair that they wrote off as a business expense,, apparently it goes for $700 so far so good
I often see debates about HD36 vs Lux in DIY mattress builds. Which do you recommend as a 1” base layer under pocket coils? Cool video btw, please do more!
New sofa delivered today, didn’t realise it is high density seat foam…………..not comfortable, to hard. I’m hoping it’l soften as the one in the shop felt softer. I hope I haven’t made a terrible mistake 😬
For a mattress of 6" for Lux-HQ, I am wanting firm but I am wondering if I would feel the ridges between my 3.5inch apart wooden slats. Also why is R different from HQ? What makes it high quality
This is the most astoundingly informative video I could have possibly found about foam. Thank you very much.

Succicntly, economically said in a friendly and engaging way. Great teaching - Important information. Thanks!
Very informative. Explains a lot. Thank you!
God this is such useful info, ty! Wish amazon mattresses had ILD and density info for their mattresses, really has me looking at foam factory now.
Thanks for this video comparison!
Love the video!! Can you do one for your outdoor foam too?
Super helpful for online ordering. Thank you!

No discussion of Qualux foam?
This is AMAZING!
super helpful, tysm!
Very informative 👌🏽 companies might sell you the WRONG type especially if they have too much of a certain foam
I'm looking to purchase the lux HQ is there gonna be a huge difference in comfort when it comes to comparing a 4" to a 5"???
6'4 240 lbs
We suggest the 5" because it will be more comfortable than the 4" for your application.

I would like to see comparisons between cold-cured foam and the foam 'types' you demonstrate here.
