I remember buying a cd in about 2004 (I was in 8th grade) with a booklet where I could finally get lyrics and after I went to a bookstore to buy a dictionary to translate the lyrics. The first my option was more about grammar so I went back and changed to another book with higher lexical stack. So far I can't speak german but I understand a lot. It's like I understand belarusian language perfectly but can't speak it (offtop).
The live version doesn't do it justice! Sounded so good in my car! 🤘🤘
They all looked pretty young for sure lol. This was one concert/festival that helped boost their popularity. And then after they released their 1997 album "Sehnsucht", they just took off.
Definitely a big noticeable difference in Rammstein's "sound" back in the 90s very heavy on the electronics and weird sound effects. You get that a lot on their first 2 albums, I'd say that all changed on the 3rd album. Way different sounds being used by Flake
They were unknown to most of the crowd here (it was also a really hot day) - and they headlined the festival the next year... There is a really good copy of this whole concert now on RUclips - better quality than most of newer ones from years later infact. Also, I think you'll find Flake is wearing pajamas and Richard just has baggy 90's shorts with suspenders :D
Till (being the eldest) is 33 here and Oliver (the youngest) is 25.
Funfact: I was there in this crowd. Was a great time.

It's Rammstein on a budget. I like how it's all there already but in a much smaller scale. The music has always been awesome.

Fun fact:
Till Lidemann was an ex-olympic swimmer and he represented the old German Democratic Republic (East Germany). He was born in the poorest region of Germany so, he didn't have choice to help his parents in monetary terms.He participated in the European Junior Swimming Championships in 1978 at the age of 15. Unfortunately, he suffered and injury in his back and things changed for him forever. He missed the Olympics games in Moscow 1980 and Los Angeles 1984. That's why he looks so big, strong and muscular. Once he realized his professional career as a swimmer was over, he started to be more focused in music industry (starting playing punk music). Richard grew up in East Germany as well. He learnt to speak English at a very early short age. In fact, he's frequently the chosen one of the band for Rammstein's interviews to the media. Flake accepted joining to Rammstein if they exclusively accept singing in German. Richard Kruspe got married with Till's ex-wife and he has a daughter named Kira Lindemann (born in 1991) Lol. Me too! Though I've been to a non-metal concert like three years ago, the venue hold like 900 people. The recording by phone was officialy banned, because the band asked for it and people actually obeyed the rule. I haven't found a single videorecording of that concert online (which was phenomenal by the way and I found footage from other concerts from the tour.
@@jolanas.5426 I absolutely love that!! When i went to see Rammstein at MK in 2019 i avoided all spoilers of the show! People i met up with had already watched the full show on youtube, filmed on phones!! That to me just ruins all the magic!
Their style was way more experimental in those days (1994-1997).
Later on they would adapt more elements of conventional Metal/Hard Rock. I personally think they were at their peak with the "Reise Reise" album in 2004.
Being spoiled with the recent influx of Rammstein/Lindemann reactions 😎

It's interesting that your audience almost always chooses live versions, because I think the music videos for TV by Rammstein would be a lot better for the reaction format, since the videos itself are pretty heavy on the storytelling aspect, which would give you two more to talk about.

In my opinion the best young Rammstein show was at the bizarre festival of the year 97, not 96.
The set of songs exclusively from Herzeleid and Sehnsucht albums is great. There's something so pure about their sound then, before their 3rd work Mutter when the bands sound starts transforming (for good though, but it changes forever).

I've seen this video many times and for the first time i found myself cracking up with laughter 😂. Paul is so cute going crazy like that on the guitar! How i didn't notice before today i don't knw. On top of that this video is before my cutie little Paul's hair started to disappear in the front! Oh I love these guys.
I've been a US based fan since the mid 90s.. I remember being crazy for them at this time and the German industrial scene. Everyone except for a very small clique of people even got it and most thought it was crazy "no one's going to buy it here" fast forward 20+ years later and 😆
There is so much more.. Try Umbra et Imago, ASP, Tanzwut, Heimataerde, Diary of Dreams, Megaherz, Eisbrecher, Das Ich,.. and of course Laibach who are arguably Rammsteins biggest influence and predecessor particularly when it comes to the experimental side. There's so much good music the American scene never got so we can be force-fed another Limp Biscuit video in the late 1990s early 2000s lol
