Nice work!! I’d like to pass on a tip that a guy named Gus gave to me on using my #55…always work backwards from the furthest end of the stock with a molding or rabbet plane it creates less tear out. He told me this back in 1986 when i bought the 55. Hope it helps👍

No progression at all. I just use 400 grit. The surface from the plane is good enough for a finish. However, I want to get more of the grain popping on it and for that you need to have some dust worked into the pores to pull the oil down a little farther. And so just a light touch of 400 grit. Sandpaper is all needed.
