The clock came out really cool looking. If you want to learn something new, try cutting your own glass. I attempted cutting glass this week for some picture frames. The first one ended up being practice, as I screwed it up so bad I couldn't use the piece anymore. But after several more practice cuts on the failed piece, I went for it with my "extra" piece and was successful. I'm confident I can do it now as long as the edges are straight, and won't hesitate to use glass in future projects.
I actually used to work at a hardware store and I did all the glass cutting there. It's not that hard to do but I have a glass company just on the road for me that I have a good relationship with. And they can do it much faster. Plus they can also grind the edges so they're not sharp.
A truncated pyramid will give room at the top, and a stellar view (literally!). For the craftsman masochist, a dodecahedron would be the penultimate challenge, and a fitting tribute to Buckminster Fuller.
Wow, James, the enclosure is magnificent! That was a tricky project, one that I’m a little hesitant to attempt just yet. But I sure would love to! Because the clock enclosure would look great in any home, including mine. You really knocked this one out of the park!
I tried a flag case last year. Frustrated the heck outta me. Gotta build some jigs to get the angles right, but I'll get it done! Good luck with the clock case!
Love listen to this gutted I can’t see what you was doing but thanks for the audio but cheek to put it picture in my head how you done it. Definitely won’t think a blind man can do that one
I find too that acrylic tends to get scratched up and cloudy in a relatively short amount of time. I like how easy it is to work with, but for something like a clock that is made for display, I would have gone with glass as well, not that my opinion counts for anything. :)
@@WoodByWrightHowTo yeah. Listen to Star Wars with commentary. Your commentary sounds like Lucas LoL. Same tone and cadence LoL. Your work is beautiful.

As always, love your videos. Not only for content but also for techniques used.
I just learned the trick to cleaning glass. Use a microfiber cloth instead of paper towels or crumpled newspaper. I was amazed at how well it worked.
Pretty amazing work, James! It turned out more than beautiful! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Wow!!! That's Awesome!!!! Well Done James!!!! Thank You!!!! 😲😃👏👍😎😁

Thanks for sharing those tips and the make!

Great job… very creative !!!
I would say you did it the "wright" way. Great job of design work, too.
Ceramic coat the glass inside and out, and it makes future cleaning a lot easier.
Thanks James!!
Super nice build.
Very "Illuminati"! 🔺👁😂
That's really awesome looking project 😊
James, where did you get the adapter for the brace for the hex bits?? I have the same issue on the brace not working well with hex. Thanks!
Here's a video showing my whole fit and brace set up. I have links to the different ones I use on that video. ruclips.net/video/1IfgVb4UmQY/видео.html
Thanks for the info👍
Super fun! I was wondering if you had any reason to use glass rather than clear acrylic or plexiglass?
Glass is more durable in the long run, and cheaper., but there is no reason not to use acrilic

I looked up marking screw drivers on eBay but there was just cheap knock offs, nothing vintage.
Pretty slick! I never gave much thought to how many geometry calculations come into play with a pyramid like that.
nice
Marking.... screwdriver....
only the best!
Has anyone ever told you that you sound exactly like George Lucas?
Lol I had not heard that one before.

Am I the only one that thinks that looks like part of a dollar bill? Some people just have too much time on their hands.
The all-seeing eye.
First!
Congrats!
