This is really nice to watch. Every other wood working channel has an entire workshop's worth of expensive power tools and equipment. I just want to see something I could make for a fraction of the price with hand tools.
Really like this video because so many videos make it look like experienced woodworkers go fast. This shows that you're taking a fair amount of time (and talking to the project)
As always, loved the hand tool work and the spice rack looks great. Possibly some scroll work on the cross bars holding the jars in, maybe with some carving just to give the rack a bit of spice (sorry couldn't help the pun). Great work on putting the video together as well.
Absolutely awesome, such an underrated channel. If you're looking for futher ideas like this, a sliding version that could fit in the gap between cupboards would be awesome to see!
Made one for a qualification here in the UK, then the supermarket we used made a more competitive 'own brand' that had bigger bottles. Oh well, it's now an ornament...
@@WoodByWright Square mortise drill bits are very expensive in Turkey. I am a beginner amateur and would like to learn a practical and easy way to assemble stools and coffee tables.
That was my original thought as well. But for my situation it was too tight of a fit. There was enough space for the dowels and still allow the cabinet door to open beside it.

For my spice rack I used a bent metal rod (about 3/16") to retain the bottles. You may find the wood retaining straps obstruct the bottle labels.

I originally wanted to do that. But the gap between the cabinets and the wall for me is a little thinner than my spice bottles.

Generally I use a chisel for that. But if it's a large mortise then I will bring out an auger bit to remove the most of the waste.
