- Check out this nice little Land Rover that I bought from a Bristol Street Motors lane at British Car Auctions. I really like these Freelander 2s, sure they have their issues but they're so much better than the original and who doesn't love a boxy little 4x4?!

best landie they ever made
great video, Joe! on a roll with these video’s at the moment, and I am LOVING them ❤
235 be bigger diameter too as sidewall is % of width, should have been a fail
Really enjoying the content Joe, keep churning it out 👍 think it's about time for another road trip challenge 🤷
The tyre is bigger overall . 65% of 236 is more than 65% of 225 so the diameter will be greater as will the circumference. Being in the trade I’m surprised you didn’t seem to understand the significance of.
Glad Bash is helping with your videos 👍
Great stuff again mate 👍
Great video as always mate, keep up the good work bro 🎉
Thanks mate
Freelander 2...top spec was the HSE Luxury, similar spec was the Metropolis in the facelift 2013-2014 last run cars.
Nice specs! Lovely car.
I have Freelander 2 manual 08 plate on 250,000 on the clock I bought it at 130,000 I have changed the clutch once since owning it as I do a lot of towing and put a reconditioned transfer box on but other then that I find it bomb proof of road and it’s surprised me what it’s capable of with road tyres on, I would recommend anyone getting one
Wow I'm looking at a 200000 miles freelander 2 se 2007 says its mint up for £1650 😮
@@mrleighcbowman as long as it’s been serviced regularly it’s worth it for a cheap vehicle mine is still going just gone over 260,000 miles now and being used on the farm every and towing on the road
The second dim on the tyre size is the percentage of the width so the tire is taller.
I really respect your honesty when explaining the circumstances and issues with a vehicle before sale. There's a few traders out the who don't.
Get the big number plate on the back, check the rust under the arches otherwise they are great cars.
Scrubbed up well mate, though was more impressed with the leather seat cracking improvement. Any idea what pen he used to do that?
I have a freelander2 a year younger though. For a car that weighs 2.5 ton, she is pretty fast off the lights. She is also very comfortable both to sit in but also very much worth the money i paid, despite having to shell out nearly 2k in repair bills (so far).
I love my Freelander 2 Automatic and am disappointed that JLR didn't keep it in the range as an entry model.
You missed mentioning the rust around the tailgate adjoining the bumber.
We've got one in and it's scanning turbo actuator, showing restricted performance on dash, sold another one last year, customer took it for an inspection, garage to sill covers off and found some rust, so caused some controversy.
great video,whereabouts are you situated?.
Great video as always. I am planning to buy a used car and I hope I can visit your shop in the near future.
Any time!
Had an 07 back in the day, which was serviced by the supplying main dealer and three months after the warranty expired the engine decided, while driving on a motorway, to turn into a bag of spanners. Thought Landrover might show some goodwill seeing it was regularly serviced by their dealer, but no, they quoted an outrageous price for a new engine and basically told me to feck off. Needless to say, when subsequently buying new cars, and upgrading, I went with BMW and Mercedes. Didn't ever, and would never consider buying a Landrover product again.
You mentioned using a touch up pen on the leather trim…..what brand of touch up pen do you use?
The profile of the tyre is a % of the width therefore it will be a different size overall.
Correct - different width automatically means different height for the same aspect ratio.
When I had to change the wheels on my Volvo, the s/h set I bought was fitted to a slightly different model, but the alloy itself is exactly the same as was fitted to my car... The other model was specced with 235/40/r18, mine is specced with 245/40/r18 - this makes a difference of 4mm to the radius, so the wheel sits 4mm closer to the tarmac on 235/40/18 than on 245/40/18.
Not a huge difference granted, but illustrates the point
The really bad news here is looking up online shows the Falken is a correct size for these cars and the three ditchfinders aren't 🤐
Kaliteli ve muhteşem bir video olmuş elinize emeğinize sağlık bayıldım tebrik ederim başarılarınızın devamını dilerim harikasınız
Mass airflow sensor?
Your dealership looks very nice - would defo visit if a car came up.
Thank you, you’d be very welcome!
I've had these for 14 years & never had oil leaks
If Bashkin likes the TD4 that's clearly added value for anyone looking for a Country hack. Great video as always.
Who puts balance weights on the outside of an Ali wheel ?
how much was it at auction mate all in from bca?>
Has to be freelader 2 with the 2.2 diesel engine😊
Bash just found the missing 'kilo' ! 😊
Would a Freelander like this have been scrapped in 2019? Plebs like me could still buy at auctions back then but, failing that, could traders like you still made a profit?
11:17 Two dogs in the boot? Bash has other ideas.
Dual mass Fly wheel and clutch on one of these would quite possibly write it off!!
Why right it off?..Yes they can be expensive but so is every other clutch and in today's world we need to get rid of that throw away mentality and get back to common sense,if the motors good then spend the money getting a clutch.Mines the series 1 on a 56 plate and did i scrap it,ofcourse i didn't and i paid the money to get a clutch.
@@letmeoffthisplanet6208 Because they become no longer financially viable!! thats why!!
@@letmeoffthisplanet6208 Dual mass fly wheel Tdi urs is not!! mk2 is St letmeoff the planet how bout u just leave!!
@@alundavies5171 maybe if you are buying and selling..But if you are referring to someone owning any vehicle that requires something like a clutch then you need to snap out of the throw away stupidity.
@@letmeoffthisplanet6208 No ur plank even owning a car that age that needs a new clutch a dual mass fly wheel at this point is throwing money away! next week its will be electrical problems and trust me i know!! the week after Brake pads and discs at some point you have to say no more!!! Baked bean cans it is!! and move on!!!
I'm so happy you bought a FL2.
Then again, misery loves company.
LOL.
The turbo issue is something I currently have on my FL2 and have had it for months.
"my gut tells me it's not going to be a huge issue"
That's what I thought until I replaced all the boost hoses, the intercooler, turbo rebuild and new actuator.
Now I need a new turbo and or EGR valve.
One of my faves. Next time buy a BMW I8.
Not sure that’s in my budget at the moment 😅
That's a Pembrokeshire reg car
N/S/R wheel arch has a dent!! 😂
Hey is your porsche sold!?!?!
Yep 😪 Needs must and all that!
Who are you kidding 😂
So you're now promoting Car Vertical, after what you said about it previously!
Have a look at the date of the videos maybe?
What did he say
Running the numbers quickly, your odd tyre effects the radius by 6.5mm (diameter by 13mm) - so definitely not the same rolling diameter.
May not necessarily even be an mot testing point, or perhaps it's so rare to see mismatches that the tester didn't even look (got lazy)?.
Either way, looking up online you can find the factory wheel and tyre sizes fitted to different makes and models of vehicle by year and engine size, so if you're ever unsure (and the sticker on the doorframe has been removed) you can check it.
Bad news is, it looks like the 235/65/r17 is the correct one for the car - not the three matching ones.
Perhaps someone was coming to sell the car and needed to replace 3 but could get away with not doing the 4th and opted for the cheapest they could find, even using a different size to achieve it?
DE registration is Chester area. It’s looks ok to be fair for a 16 year old car
the runway has ran its way over a nail on the driver's side
No way! I will have to check that out!
please do not class all freelander 1s the same my wife has had her 25 year old freelander 23 years ago and yes in the beginning we had the head gasket done as it was the 1800 and has had not problems since i have my TD4 auto for 13/14 years and no problems
I've a F1 Td4 2005 ('55) MY 55k on the clock, strong as a ox 🤜🤛
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Seems a good one
I need spare part (hydrolic cooler) for Freelander
The freelander 1 had the worst petrol engine ever made ,
The 1800cc K- series was fine till around 50k-60k miles. lotus also used same engine soon changing to a Toyota engine
Hardly worst ever made and still in production with gremlins fixed
No joke, if you find you have a remote central locking fob that's not functioning correctly, place the fob against your chin bone while pressing the remote button, you will be amazed how this hack works, I was shown this by someone in the trade and initially thought he was taking the mickey, I wonder if you or your viewers have ever heard of it
Yeah, it really does work, I usually put it to my temple
P.S; I'd rather match the spare, put them on the front, and put the Chinese rubbish under the boot?
Wow you have by far more experience of the motor trade than me but the amount of trash you buy astonishes me
Smeg 😂
Smegma if we’re being specific 😂
owner of FL2 2009 . at start u will hate it , then u go in terible rain/snow/skiing/offroad for forest then u start to like it , you replace fluids sttering filter oil, wore down things gear etc , u buy new tyres air filter u start to love it then your car is fixed u drive it for 2 year and you start to wonder who the idiot sold u luxury car that can go 150KM/h without any sing of resonating or unstability u start to wonder how could u get this luxury vehicle for 6000 euros :D :D :D :D :D :D and u thank to god u got balls to buy this noisy big thing . no risk no win :D
Until you get a turbo underboost condition and can't get to the bottom of it
"Without further ado" not adeu lol sound like del boy adding in stupid French phrase
Charming 😅
You've just moaned about the cars you need to sort, so why buy another piece of tat that you've got to turn around. Go figure?
Because that’s my business model? 🤷♂️😂
@@ShiftingMetal Right. You've just questioned your own answer. Not the best in the world is it? If'y cars, no mechanics and telling people your problems on social media. Not really a win/win situation is it. No wonder so many cars come back to you. Also, on a legal footing, DO not discuss on going court proceedings on social media.

Also you've put your neck out to produce these videos so don't be surprised if there's negative comments. Not all a bed of roses.
@@robaustin245 I think you’ve been watching too many Netflix documentaries mate, this isn’t a murder trial with a jury that could be influenced 😂 I also haven’t shared any personal info. I do expect negative comments but I don’t have to accept them, do I.

It’s a fraction of what I buy in reality, but the cheap stuff draws the most views so that’s what you see most
@Shifting Metal I just don't get it. My experience of the crap like this is just a headache in warranty claims? I do admire your setup though with the mechanics bays it's something I'm looking to do would save a fortune.
@@DaleSteel It does, that’s why I sell it from another location. The garage doesn’t usually stock anything under £4k. I don’t make as many videos on 5-20k cars because they don’t get the views
