Hey I’m 18 and this is my last year of highschool I’m planning on going into the airforce once I graduate can you give me any advice or tips that I can do to prepare
If you are really planning on enlisting into the Air Force start studying for the asvab and get a recruiter, don’t take any job they throw at you. Think long and hard about the job/career you want and go for it, don’t let them influence you to take something you don’t want. Once you have that all figured out start working out and preparing!
강정찬 I never took an eye exam at bmt only meps, they had everybody who didn’t do so well at meps for the eye exam do one there and more than likely prescribed them glasses
Did you have all your TIs employing the most vulgar, most demeaning, most comical & most correctional PROFANITY you've ever heard? They can't hit you, but our TIs were F'this, that & the other! They picked on Airmen who were tall, short & in between. The insulted inability of initial trainees & used the profanity as if it were in their TI book. I didn't mind it, but it scared us to death by not knowing if they could lawfully do the threats they repeated, so it was the detainee treats that were loudest & fear of the unknown. There wasn't any racial slurs, we were all equally worthless. I enjoyed when TIs went off on 1 or 2 trainees & used such "comically" vulgar demented threat/jokes, we had to fight back the need to bust out laughing, it's like having sex quick with your significant other & being prevented from finishing ur required earth shattering release. They are the most accurate ways I can professionally describe it. It was when 3701 BMTS was converting to the 321st Training Squadrons. I know much of that has since been banned (since SEP 1992, when we wore BDUs), but its an integral part of "the military" for Christ's sake, its not a club fed cake walk, it was psychological warefare!
First of all... pt isn’t 1 hour long 😂it’s roughly 45 mins which includes the warm up and cool down. You don’t wake up at 0445 it’s 0545. Dorm set up info is in the bmtdg not the bmtsg. Time to write letters is based on how fast you get everything else done, if your slow you could get zero time if your fast you could get 30 minutes. But hey great video for people about to come in, way to be a wingman for the future airman!
We were the first flight during covid 19 our wake up time was 0445. Every morning not 0545 like the normal old bmt. Time to write letters was given based on our MTI’s some times it was days with no time some times we got 10 minutes to write letters. If you got caught you got in trouble and more than likely lost out. But thanks man!
@@AirmanNick Well I guess things have been updated since you went through. Wake up time is 0545 unless you have an early wake up time then it could be 0500 .. that’s pretty rare. COVID has got BMT changing with every flight so this could change tomorrow. Another thing that has changed is they no longer do tent city... if your flight has to be quarantined they go to a designated quarantined gateway inn ... lots of new stuff
@@yellowfever1015 yes I’m aware we were the only flight to do tent city. But we forsure woke up at 0445 and went to sleep at 0800 everyday instead of 0900

Its looking like ill be shipped out in january. I’m not sure how to study the chain of command if they may change...
They more than likely will not be changing just study officer ranks and enlisted ranks and you will be fine.
@UCfXD9BQtaabsx85WLrCD46g oh okay, I would worry less about that and more about ranks. They will be making you study all of the chain of command all the time, legit anytime you’re just standing there they will make you study it on your memory work.
Did anyone get kicked out because of the PT? I am getting used to push ups and running. I always wonder if people actually get kicked out. Lol thank u
hey bye yes people do, we had a wash back they came into our flight and ended up not passing and getting removed from the course because they failed the pt test again. Not everybody passes there PT tests but they will always give u a second chance!
Airman Nick thank you! I am working towards my fitness I am so nervous loo
Lol I was with him soooo accurate!!
What’s your AFSC brother?
does week zero count in the 7 weeks or is it more like 8 weeks
It will be 7 weeks total at the moment because of the corona virus.
What are the medical and dental appointments like?
As far as when you are in processing at BMT. Is it anything like MEPS?
Are you allowed to bring blank flash cards to BMT?
Yes you could or just buy them there if you want
What were some of the covid procedures ?
Wear your mask at all times, wash your hands, and social distance always.
@@AirmanNick do MTIs "social distance" when screaming at you lol
Loved the video btw. I’m sure you’ll cover this, but I’ll be going sometime in late August or September. Is it true it’s a lot shorter than usual?
Emilio Rivera it’s a week shorter In time so not a tremendous difference.

Airman Nick is there any website or way I could look into the jobs/careers that they have
Mob Records yes Airforce.com on the careers slide
Airman Nick Thank you I appreciate the help❤️
Study the asvab and get a job you can make good money out of the air force
i leave on the 13th what should i do to prepare myself?
Airman’s Creed, Airforce song, Air Force ranks, run a lot and workout and u will be fine.
I go on the 25th 😬
Awesome, Good luck!!
I was a chow runner and marching/doing drill is my thang!! Haha!
Tafari P I could not say the same lol, was horrible at both but I have gotten better!
What days do we do laundry
Sergio Gomez Laundry crew does laundry, and they do it legit everyday
Is the yelling the worst part of bmt .?
It’s honesty different for everybody, If you stay under the radar you will not get yelled at as much.
Airman Nick Also I heard it’s better to bring a watch to bmt any advice on what type of watch or a good brand that won’t stand out .?
linx anything Black, G shock is a nice military watch. That’s what I use.
Any older people in your flight?
Multiple older people, had a 39 year old in my flight, a 34 year old and a bunch ranging from 20-28!
@@AirmanNick I'm 37 and getting ready. Still gotta lose about 10 lbs.
Can you get visitors during tech school? My wife was wondering about that.
Ben H All depends on the base but if the base is open to leave you will be allowed to leave and meet with her off base.
@@AirmanNick thank you
I'm 38. Leaving this Monday Aug 31st
And is it true they do a full vision test to see if you need glasses?
In bmt that is
I believe only certain people do the vision test again at BMT, I personally did not bc I had perfect vision at meps.
Airman Nick bro i have glasses but i forgot my prescription i hooe i dont get chewed
👍👍
What about eye exam?
강정찬 I never took an eye exam at bmt only meps, they had everybody who didn’t do so well at meps for the eye exam do one there and more than likely prescribed them glasses
Anyone leave August 25th
I do
I do
I do
Yessir yall boys ready?
Nope August 31st. A week after you
See this is the stuff I don't understand what does bed 🛌 drills have anything to do with military?? I dunno sorry if you feel offended 😞 not my angle
I wasn’t a big fan of bed drills either, nobody really is. They just make us do it to teach discipline and good habits I guess.
@@AirmanNick I understand now 🤗
i leave next month aaa
I noticed you have sleeping pills. Do you need those because of bmt?
No I just have those incase it’s late and I have work early in the morning.
Sounds like army BCT😂😂
You’re not doing 30 laps in 30 minutes lmao😂
Yeah no way. But it’s a lot.
Does everybody go in the shower at the same time even during covid?
Yes lol all of us the same time.
@@AirmanNick Lol, I'm a little surprised. Thought there would be some precaution on that.
But we forsure woke up at 0445 and went to sleep at 0800 everyday instead of 0900
i see your tums made it!?!
