You will have more subject matter expertise than any of your friends that went to college. BUT, you're an expert at being an apprentice. When you get to your first base you'll be rarin' to go. But, you've only been trained to apprentice level. People only a year older will be approaching master level already, so don't come in with your new found knowledge expecting people to listen to you. At that point, the Air Force has given you the basic knowledge and vocabulary so that you'll understand what those older can teach you.
I went through BMT in 1980. Ended up serving for 24 years until my retirement in 2004. Based on this video, you both make me proud that we still have such high quality, great people serving in the USAF. Nicely done!

On the last day, just after our graduation parade, I heard one of the guys in the Flight say something about never having to repeat the General Orders again. I was surprised, and realized, we were suppose to have memorized the General Orders, I didn't memorize anything. No one during Basic Training ever asked me to repeat them, even during the regular inspections. I wouldn't recommend doing what I did, part of the problem I had was I could not understand the TI's thick NYC/Puero Rican accent and it took me almost 3 1/2 to 4 weeks to even figure out half of what he was saying. Needless to say, I was in the shit a lot and graduated last in the class. Just an aside story. My little nugget of advice for anyone going to BMT, always know exactly to whom you are speaking. When I was at BMT in the autumn of 1989, one Saturday afternoon I took out the drawers of my wall locker and had most of my body up inside one of the drawer openings dusting off little flakes of rust that kept falling on my security drawer white towel causing me to have demerits. A senior master sergeant walked up to me and kicked me in the feet and asked me what I was doing. He sounded just like the guy who slept in the bunk beside mine. When he kicked me a second time, I said really loudly, “motherfucker, if you kick me again, I’m gonna come out of this drawer and kick your skinny ass!” The next thing I know, the senior master sergeant is grabbing me by my combat boots and yanked me out of the drawer opening. As I looked up, I saw nothing but stripes for days. I wanted to die. I snapped my feet and stood at attention and proceeded to get smoked for what seemed like the next two hours. I have taken that experience through the remainder of my life. Always, always know to whom you are speaking, especially in the military!

Honestly bro just bring it up to him and see what he has to say, take control of your life and see if he thinks it’s a good idea and what he may have to say. If it’s something you really want to do after a lot of thought go for it.
The special warfare go through a different squadron. PJs for example go through the 331 TRS, the Wolf Pack. They say they have the more strict MTIs and i think they go through a more strict BMT than the rest. But I have talked to some of them and their MTIs aren’t as strict as the ones on the 324 trs
I have a question about the eating. I myself usually don’t eat much , like one meal a day tbh. And I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one. Like my usual mornings at work , I drink my coffee, maybe a light snack like a muffin. But then don’t really eat lunch. Then get home and eat dinner. I maybe eat another snack here and there throughout work but never really have 3 full meals a day. Would that be a problem in bmt?
It’s about getting someone accustomed to a routine until it becomes automatic. Remember, most of these “kids” have never had a job before, so it’s about developing habits that will help someone perform a job to at least a minimum level.
If you go into AF BMT thinking you're going to get Full Metal Jacket, brace yourself for Weenie Hut Jr. instead. Place is literally adult day care with yelling here and there.

@@quintinlee7305 I got screwed by my recruiter he told me 3-4 months tops and now I’ve been waiting for 9 months and still don’t have a tech school date. Only basic dates. It’s a really good gig going guard but man the waiting and all that is absurd.
Another great video. Im in the process of enlisting. Doing the PiCat soon. I will probably be the oldest dude at BMT (33).
Did you have any older guys/girls during your BMT?
Yes had a 39 and 35 year old. A bunch in their late 20s.
@@AirmanNick nice 👌
I see the patch on the water bottle in the back. I'm a Reservist that's in the same Squadron at tech school now. I'm actually in the Reserve unit at Hurby, I'll be AGR when I get back. We might work together in the near future. Strike First, Rattle later! Hooooooooaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!! Ssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!
On the plane to San Antonio currently
Awesome best of luck!
Live your videos man leaving in March 30!!
Awesome thanks for watching and best of luck!
When I was in BMT, it was from the end of August until the beginning of October...so very hot. We had to wear both wool and nylon socks in combat boots. My flight all got blisters except for me. What happened to me? I have very smelly feet hahahaha. My flight begged our MTI's to put my boots onto the fire escape at night, but they wouldn't hear of it.
shipping on feb 2nd, going for CCT
Best of luck!
Brings back memories from 1984; chow hall snake pit, Give your 341! Sir airmen ______, reporting as ordered !
MTI *DESTROYS* AIRMAN NICK USING *FACTS* AND *LOGIC*
Destroyed yes using facts and Logic not always haha
i don't know how but i never got screamed at! if anything i made my MTI laugh the most😂
I will be at the same base!...I think it might be Eglin
What’s up Nick. I wanted to know, what camera do you use to record? Thanks!
I have just been using my iPhone 11 Pro Max.
When I was in the AF, the cutest women were in the Army. AF was the worst. Airman Gunn just shattered that rule.
Nope.
When I went to BMT and fall of 1989, I got in a lot of trouble for chatting up a really good looking female senior airman at the medical facility.
Hey Nick. For how many years did you sign up for? What is the shortest contract term you've heard is available? I'm guessing at least 4-year contracts. Thanks!
4 Years and I believe that is the shortest contract you can get. You can also do a 6 year contract if you want.
How bout that squadron pride.... Roll Gator what? Roll Gator Roll!!! 320th best squadron... graduated 10dec and about the same experience.
🐊 🐊 🐊 🐊 🐊
ship out May 4TH, lets see how it goes!
Me too bro
Good luck yall
Back when I was in BMT we only had to pass the mile and a half run.
Also we had no beast week just the obstacle course towards the end of basic.
Hey nick, how can I go on about talking to my dad about joining the air force?
Honestly bro just bring it up to him and see what he has to say, take control of your life and see if he thinks it’s a good idea and what he may have to say. If it’s something you really want to do after a lot of thought go for it.
@@AirmanNick im subscribing!!!
Are the special warfare airmen in the same flights or do they assigned to their own flights and do they do extra training
Pretty sure everybody goes through the initial training, and then after bmt they would go to their own advanced individual job trainings.
I just graduated bmt from the 320th yesterday
I have a question about the eating. I myself usually don’t eat much , like one meal a day tbh. And I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one. Like my usual mornings at work , I drink my coffee, maybe a light snack like a muffin. But then don’t really eat lunch. Then get home and eat dinner. I maybe eat another snack here and there throughout work but never really have 3 full meals a day. Would that be a problem in bmt?
Yo Nick, what's your AFSC? Is her job the same as yours?
Who’s shipping out in May?
i ship out may 4th
Swore into dep 3 days ago awaiting a job sadly
Wait it out. Don’t let your recruiter pick it for you.
I just took the test waiting for the results because meps is broken fml😭😂
Leaving jan 26th
I’d rather get harassed than wait. And I’m gonna go head first into this ready to get smoked! I’m ready to get strong 😂
Have fun!
beast week was the best part IMO
What editing software do you use?
Final Cut Pro
I ship out 2nd of next month can’t wait❕
@@First426 awesome best of luck!
Who’s shipping out on feb 2nd??
I’m at hurby to my guy
What’s your AFSC or job in the Air Force
I’m also at Hurlburt🥳🥳🥳
Awesome maybe I’ll see you around.
Where is nick, hasent uploaded in a while!
This was supper great honestly than you guys.
My man.....
I like how all the boys know what you’re gonna say without saying it 😂
Nice
How long did you have to wait for your job to open up after you didn’t get the open you wanted ?
I got the job I wanted, it was my number one pick. Once I chose my job I shipped out 3 months later I believe.
@@AirmanNick thanks broski I go to meps soon and don’t wanna get screwed over
Do we have to take the corona virus vaccine in the Air Force?
No you are not forced but it’s an option.
Thanks I was nervous just cause of that but I feel more confident about joining I appreciate it
Great question I wasn’t sure too. When someone get there for bmt do they put you in the barracks for the rest of bmt or everyone get separate room.
@@AirmanNick do you get the option in BMT or after?
Flying out in 19 days!!! 😁
My son ship out feb 8 . Iam so sad .
wow ten minutes to eat?? when i was there in 2002 we only got like 5 mins
she is gorgeous!
Wait so am i going to a resort or bmt?
Did you get a 341?
Can u workout or hit the gym while bmt
The working out portion is only PT. There is no gym they allow us to go to during BMT we don’t even get to use weights there it’s all calisthenics.
When can you be able to go to the gym? After bmt? Thanks im planning to join on march
Yes I was able to go to the gym at tech school
So is the face the only thing you have to shave?
Yes
@@AirmanNick seriously just the face?
Do they make you take the covid-19 vaccine?
What's your MOS?
AFSC
@@tangotea7192 apologies, I first talked with a Marines recruiter and had that drilled into my head.
whats the point of shaving daily if you're all wearing masks?
Because sometimes they check or the mask comes down. But for the most part it saves you if you didn’t shave.
@@AirmanNick thanks for the reply, love your channel btw!
It’s about getting someone accustomed to a routine until it becomes automatic. Remember, most of these “kids” have never had a job before, so it’s about developing habits that will help someone perform a job to at least a minimum level.
110 degree is nice weather in Texas
Yeah so nice
You are gonna have a blast going through BEAST and putting on the MOPP gear!

Place is literally adult day care with yelling here and there.
Dude...it's still intense.
@@ThePaganSun no, it’s not.
More like Summer Camp.
@@MC-mh2ju Yes, it is intense. It's not in the least like "summer camp." There were a lot of people there that were crying on the phones with their parents (that they can only call for like 5 min. -10 min. a week if they're lucky). It's really psychologically and physically intense.
I don't know why some of you seem to be expecting physical abuse.
@@ThePaganSun Are you serious? Have you been sheltered by your parents your entire life? Going to High School at a public school is far more intense than BMT. People crying? From what, not being able to play video games and eat Doritos. There wasn’t a single moment in BMT that was difficult.
My only big worry is getting stuck in a job I absolutely don’t want
That would suck don’t sign for a job that doesn’t interest you.
@@AirmanNick you can refuse to sign for the job you’re given?
@@NP-hv8rv yeah, ofc
The higher score you get on ASVAB, the more likely you’ll get the job of your choice
