  • This is the fascinating story of France’s Albert Severin Roche who inspired our single, “The First Soldier”. Roche was named “The First Soldier of France” for his bravery while fighting for the French army in WWI. Despite his small stature and his peers’ skepticism, he proved that he was a hero.

======== The First Soldier LYRICS ==========
Before the war, he wanted more
    And ran away from home
The War to End All Wars had called his name
    Outcast, an unlikely soldier
    Barely worth his uniform
Emerging as a devil dressed in blue
    Being the lone survivor
    At the trenches in Alsace
    One man holds the line
From the south to the front to the battlefield
From a farm to a hero of France
Served his country courageous and fearless
As he halts the Kaiser’s advance
From the south to the front into no man’s land
From a farm to the end of the road
Son of France he is the first on the frontline
    Coming home
Coming home, let his story be known
    Glorious, victorious
    Protector of the tomb
Memories of his deeds, the cross of war
He’s a decorated soldier, he’s the pride of the uniform
Echoes from the past his story told
    Lined up for execution
    Saved his captain’s life
    One man holds the line

I was 5'7" tall and 114 pounds when I joined the Marines and went to Parris Island during Vietnam.
Seems I had to prove myself at every unit I was detatched to.But,after a couple years,my attitude and willingness to apply my ability to fight preceeded me and I found it a bit easier to fit in. Now,at 70 years old,Ive had 5 motorcycle club patches on my back, and found my way into the outlaw circle to attain the 1%er status.
So yeah, small people struggle. But,with a bit of guts, and determination, and busting a few heads, the bumps in the road to personal progress smooth out a bit.

He asks "how many crack companies have the French been keeping in reserve?"
His inteligence department reports most if not all the credit goes to one man. The officer scoffs outwardly, though internally he is begining to have flashbacks, and desperately pours over the reports, hoping he's wrong.
