I'm slowly starting a replay of the trilogy to serve as my canon setup for DA4 when it finally arrives, and this is super helpful for my Origins build. You've also got such a pleasant voice, so this was nice 😅 thanks for this!
I'm planning on doing same find builds on Dragon Age Origins a little overwhelming, I'm thinking of a dual wield warrior or two handed warrior that wears massive armour
12:03 @@TurretSyndrome Not really. Extra 20% on each magical resistance is pretty good. Throw in the Ring of ages and it's another 20% on each, and if you max out survival, you're pretty much not taking any Nature damage. You can always carry the ring in your inventory (not equipped) for when you're facing something that particularly uses any of the elemental damages, other than that, Key to the City should be taking it's spot, along with whatever ring favors you as an AW.
@@ugn154 Had to recall why I said that because it was from two years ago. Still redundant. Shimmering Shield from AW already maxes out all resistances to 75% on top of increasing armor.
Played Da:O after many years again, because of your video! I was testing different armors and skills(with sword). For me the best armor was Cailans armor set, which give 5hp regeneration. Was fun!
I went for a duel welding version due to the shield's not having a mana recovery perk plus my magic shields help with mana recovery and stuff also but this is good too I noticed that ur missing the blood ring which is a good ring in combination with the lifegiver and drinker accessories
I have a question you may be able to answer since I cant find any good info. Is there a way to have more then one sustained abilitie at the same time? Cuase when I try to it replaces the other sustained abilities
It could be because of tactics. When the characters do not have (Character>Any>Activate Mode) they will use the reserve of mana/Stamina, and it causes them to turn off the mode. So any sustained, you'll want to have set in tactics, or turn off tactics.
Storm of the century combo (Tempest + Blizzard + Spell Might) will solve all your boss problems and more. For best effect, have gloves that give +%20 to Shock Damage
@@MaskofPoesy I managed to scrape through them until level 12/13 when I easily got through them, thanks for the reply I'll try your combo the next time I do this build.
i notice you have frost weapons, i get this is just to unlock cone of cold but it's actually bugged, if you use frost weapons, and use fire weapons during the cast animation it applies both buffs
For even more fun go dual wield arcane warrior. Miasma is great for that build as well. Offensive spells really aren’t worth the points since you lack mana and most require you to sheath your weapons to cast.
Since Magic takes the place of Strength, does that mean it also counts towards the accuracy of Melee attacks? 🤔 I understand it doesn't boost physical resistance, but the accuracy part is very important since you don't need Dexterity.
Hey man alot of people say that its important to run like 30 dex base that it will become better with melee attacks, have you ever tried it? Whenever i have low dex they seem to miss alot
@@ChoppedCelery First time playing a mage, i did the redcliff quest and didnt unlock blood mage specialization, im lvl 15 now and played like 30 hours after that, so sad :(
@@ChoppedCelery this is why on pc i use a respec mod that automatically unlocks all specializations at the correct levels bc its so easy to just stroll past the aw spec when you finish the dalish quest
I had the same experience. I'm sure song of courage helps, but I put a lot into dexterity on my playthrough. I didn't do the most damage but I was also the tank because I was un-hittable. Especially rocking miasma.
I can’t remember how I did it but I ended up doing an Arcane Warrior build and I was literally invincible bar damage done by bosses. I’m not sure if it was glitch because i only ever managed to do it twice
Dexterity is really good for someone who prefers melee with daggers "speed" over swords, maces & axes "strength" You have a high dex and have a couple mages in your squad and you activate haste with both of them, then a dagger wielding arcane warrior can deal up to twice as much dps than any 2 handed warrior. It might just be me, but I like the idea that my character can get 6 attacks off before my enemy can even hit me once.
I'm not sold on that amulet. Would rather go with spellward or however it's called. Plus, if you really need better blood magic (it's -25% blood cost to spells) for many casts apart from ocasional blood wound - your belt is good, but if you only cast blood wound/ocasional something i'd rather change it to andruil's blessing. Another thing i don't quite get is your low dex, I'd put AT LEAST 10 more points into it (to have around 30-35 with all the gear) for both sturdiness (blocks) and actually hitting things :P But that's just my take, It may not be the uber min-max'ed version, dunno. Oh and for a shield it's fade wall, nothing else (unless you plan on changing both sword and shield to caillan's set for superb mana regen).
I also make sure to just play the game at Max Level from start to finish. Yes "technically" cheating to get there but honestly it feels like it isn't. I'm not giving myself infinite gold for gear or anything. I just feel that the Hero's were already THAT strong and just have to do the legwork.

Rip. I hope Your doing okay. DA4 did us fans dirty.
Thank you for these builds for these old games. You’re cleanse and consice . I subbed to see if you do this for other rpgs
Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. I might be getting back into making videos again. Life outside the console has been hectic!
I actually use juggernaut set for my arcane warrior/blood mage. Thanks for the video!
A little redundant.

The only thing that I don't like about arcane warrior is that you can't cast spells without sheathing your weapon. It just feels so clunky.
Spellweaver is the reason for this, so you can cast without sheaving your blade, it depends on the spell.

This is a solid build, Arcane Warrior is probably the most fun class in the game IMO.
badass build. chill guy. subbed
Appreciate you.
Haven't played orgins since I was a kid starting nightmare through the trilogy thanks for the vod

Thnx for the vid. Very inspiring and Will use your build in my next game. Never tried blood magic
Dammit, knew that I should have joined earlier, the cookies were here all along
When I made my arcane warrior I just but everything into sustain spells and I was invincible at least on hard mode
@@ChoppedCelery unless you go to circle of magic first, where possessed paladins just drain your mana and purge your buffs
I seem to be struggling with this build somewhat, im fine against mobs but as soon as a boss appears i die really quickly. Im level 10 at the moment

I miss those days when you can pick more then one specialization i wish dragon age inquisition had that 😢
Thanks bro for the series, can’t wait for the Next one

You have done this? You can stack haste? I though dex was needed or you would miss most attacks, plus you start to become un-hittable.
@@nickbaldi5198 you can stack haste twice for 50% buff. Can't go above that.
Do you think you could kill the harvester with this build on nightmare ? Or would you change things ?

why not use poison tree, very useful
How important is Dark Sustenance to this build. I don't have Wardens Keep yet so I'm not able to get that skill tree.
You don't need it unless you're like me doing no consumables run on Nightmare. Just use Lyrium potions.
