I spent a little time in Singapore last year and I totally agree with everything you said! Pros def outweighing cons:) I would love to see a video about how you came to living in Singapore
Hi Hannah, Enjoyed your vlog very much. Your pros and cons are very on point and this from me as a Singaporean. Also love your very positive and bubbly personality. Please enjoy your stay here and Cheers!
Thank you for your vlog. I enjoyed it as a local. Hope to see more vlogs. There is so much positivity about Singapore that you are able to bring awareness to tourist visiting Singapore. Most tourist claim Singapore is very expensive. I do agree with it as they are staying at the tourist area. I trust you can do a vlog about our heartlands. Cheers !!!
haha you sound like Georgia Caney 6 years ago when she first started living in SG... You should watch her videos and see her wide-eyedness for Singapore slowly start to dim and she eventually moved to Bali. I would love to see your update in a couple of years time.
Thank you for the video! Enjoyed it. I would have thought efficiency would be amongst the pros. I've lived overseas, in several different countries, and would always be reminded of how much we Singaporeans take our public service efficiency for granted. With regard to the rent, I totally agree. But, if I may be the devil's advocate, the landlord/lady probably has to deal with their higher mortgage interest rates too. So, it isn't simply the case that only renters are suffering.
Thank you for your comment! There are definitely some more pros & cons that could be discussed, efficiency is a pro for sure :) I totally agree with regards to the rent. I hope I didn’t sound like I was blaming landlords/ladies as they have a lot to deal with also! Mortgages, utilities etc
@@hannahisobel_ Oh you didn't! And I wasn't saying that you did 😅 I just thought it better to give both sides of the story. Singapore, because of its small domestic market and highly internationalised economy, is very susceptible to global economic trends. So, unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the US Fed and any other global economic conditions. Of course, there are landlords/ladies that are out to make a quick buck. But in general, Sg's housing and property policies are actually designed to minimise the effects of investor-led price increases. It just so happens that we are, all over the world, living in difficult times. Keep up the interesting videos!😊 And, like one of the comments below, you might want to consider living in HDB in the future, alongside the locals, just to experience a different lifestyle. 🙃
Late to the game but “Welcome to Singapore!”.. Yes, our Little Red Dot is near to everywhere else in SE Asia.. So much so that I’ve flown to Australia for the weekend just to attend cousins’ weddings.. 😁 On the topic of beers, ask around your friends and colleagues whether they know of any home brewers.. There’s a small community out there that likes to craft their own home brews, sometimes they’ll invite folks over for tastings, exchange notes and flavour profiles etc.. Enjoy your stay here! And say Hi to the crocodiles at Sungei Buloh when you’re free.. Cheers! 😆🍻
Singapore is small but safe. Youu need to go to Lazarus island, Coney island, Palau ubin, kusu island, sisters island and you know how big Singapore is.
@@hannahisobel_ Lazarus island, Coney island and Palau ubin. Singapore is the safest country in the world. You can walk home at 3am in the morning and still feel safe.
1) High car prices 2) Poor work life balance. Very stressful place to work. Most people work more than 50 hours a week 3) Food is now expensive even at hawker centres
As I mentioned, there are definitely more pros & cons that could be discussed and the tax here is amongst the pros for sure! :) I agree the tax in the UK is too high! But this video was not a comparison between the two (I’m not a fan of the UK hence why I don’t live there anymore 😂) it’s about singapore!
@hannahisobel_ in taiwan, 100ksgd earning u got to pay 30k tax. In singapore 100ksgd earning u pay only 10k tax. Approximately. So 10yrs i save 200k of taxes if i stays in singapore. That really can be used to offset any inflation or buy a car! I dont see why sg is expensive as local really enjoy the low tax and alot of subsidiary in health and education as well.
Thank you for your comment! To be honest, I would never tell someone not to come to Singapore, but what I would say is just ensure you’ve done your research and have enough saved up to start a life here. Be prepared for the rental market to be a little stressful but I wouldn’t let it put you off if you want to move to Singapore in 2024! ☺️
I would want to comment that landlords in Singapore are very greedy people raising the rentals too excessively. The are too much.Hope they are squeezed in life as they squeeze their poor renters.

You can also consider renting a 3 rooms HDB flat as majority of them are nicely renovated and cheaper than a condo but without the facilities.

I think your "cons" are fair... except for the socialisation is expensive. I take all my dates to hawker centres. Yes. I'm cheap!
Thank you for this beautiful and informative video. Blessings to you and your family and friends.
Singaporeans and Asians in general are very disciplined and on point people. Nothing is going to happen to you there. People look out for each other.
Finally new video 😊
Visiting for the first time this week. I have my umbrella ready!!

I love Singapore.🎉❤
Can you please do a video of expenses breakdown please ?

Consider living in HDB is lot more cheaper than private
Moving to singapore

Do you have any recommendations? Which island is the best to visit 🤩

Rent HDB, is a cheaper alternative to private condo.
