It`s good to know that the base Big Box doesn`t containing the wooden meeples (buildings, mountains etc. only the cowboys) just the kickstarter Big Box edition. I was really disappointed to find out this, when I opened my retail Big Box... To correct myself, just the 2018 (second) edition big box version has wooden meeples in it.
Thanks so much for reviewing this! I own this and it is a real hidden gem because a lot of people balk at the price, but it's totally worth it for the amount of play and value you get out of it! Great that you're getting the word out on this big box edition.
Really looking forward to picking this up. I love the idea of dueling for spaces and the interactive nature of the game. I know that doesn’t appeal to everyone but our group loves that kind of gameplay. Kinda glad that I hadn’t been exposed to the game earlier as this Big Box appears to be the definitive edition of the game. Thanks for the review!
Have played the original...and it split our group...some loved it the rest hated it...the new version looks fantastic...and plays pretty much the same..but so expensive.. Nice review Luke...will it get anywhere near your top 100?
Thanks for another great video Luke :-) There is another western-themed game that Tom Vasel absolutely loves called Dice Town by Matagot. Have u played it? The revised edition came out last year, with an expansion that Tom says is must have, they both got rave reviews... And yet we've NEVER seen either released in UK! I contacted Matagot this week and they said Asmodee UK never put an order for it!! I remember u said u had a contact in Asmodee UK. Is there any chance u could ask them to bring it to UK? Please!!! Regards, Salman
Ha ha, I know what you mean I want to try Dice Town as well, never played it. I was tempted to buy it at Essen last year and never did. Might do so this year if they have it. Sadly my contact is in Marketing, I don't think he has big control over their purchasing decisions! :P
Hi Luke, me again! What's ur opinion on Carson City vs Western Legends? If you had to choose 1, which? Are they different enough that it could be justified to have both? Regards, Salman
@@TheBrokenMeeple Thanks for the speedy reply! Yeah that was what I was thinking... and I like both types. In fact, I haven't got a sandbox game, so I'm backing the current Western Legends KS. But Carson City is having another KS later this year, so I'll probably back that as well! I do love Western movies!
I have this from a kickstarter and never got it to the table, this review makes me want to give it a try!

Thanks Luke. I was on the fence regarding the new gamefound campaign. Glad to hear that it’s not horribly bad with 2 players. Guess I’ll give it a try

I feel confident it would make the Top 100 - but no idea how high.
Blimey long time to wait though 😀

Great review. It’s a great game. You can tone down the interaction (if you want to) by using certain character combinations.
LOL @Shogun reference!
Shamefur Dispray!! :D

I have both they are very different games. One is a sandbox thematic game the other is a mid to heavy euro with a decent amount of direct interaction.

I got this for a good price at tabletop live. I’ve wanted it for awhile but thanks for putting it back in my mind!
£75 is typical online, so what was the Tabletop price? Certainly the cheaper you can get it the better!
£65 :)
My copy i just got says 2018 on back, im assuming its the second edition retail? Whats yours?
How's the game play with 2 player?
Primordial Soup i prefer it with 2. Otherwise it’s a little too crowded for my taste
