I don’t do support during labor 😂 don’t touch me, don’t talk to me while I’m in the zone, let me get the baby out and out of mama bear mode 😂

Same! Especially during a contraction/Surg. I warned my hubs I'd stab him if he touched/bumped me or tired to have a conversation. But in between the breaks I could do all those things.

I haven't given birth yet, (due November!) but unfortunately had a miscarriage last time. During the miscarriage, I was too focused during each wave of pain, to be able to communicate or ask my husband to go higher/lower with massage or say yes or no to heat packs etc... I had to wait for the wave of pain to go before I could tell him what was helping. This time we will have a secret language planned out, for example, one tap means yes, two taps for no, so that he can ask me yes or no questions during a contraction. Just thought I'd share in case it helps anyone else. 😊 thanks for such a great video, especially prioritising their needs, they can't pour from an empty cup! 🥰

Sending this link to hubby right now! Due to Covid, last year I had to labor for 4 hours in triage alone. When Hubby came in, I was basically in active labor going into transition. He was only able to help me for about an hour. I am pregnant again this year and I hope to labor at home as long as possible with him. He had a completely different experience from me. Really all he remembers is "Blood and guts" lol!
Hoping this video will help prepare him for many hours of labor and assistance. We have also hired a Dula so I hope he will be able to have a better experience as a support partner this time around.
Thanks so much for sharing! I am a big fan of your videos!

I know you didn't have a choice, but you are strong to have endured that. I think I would have just labored in the hall with him until he could come back 😅 even now, a local hospital is still rapid testing every mom that comes to l&d and the hubbies can't come back until the results are in which could take 1-3 hours 😳 praying all goes well for you, babe, and hubby 💕

I'll watch this on my laptop later today but things I know are be supportive and don't panic. Coach her through stuff. Being there beside her will make all the difference. Communicating. I want 4 kids.

Could we have the same thing for an elective c-section? ☺️ Thanks for saying "birthing partner" and not husband, it really feels including for me being a solo mom by choice whose going to be accompanied by a friend during the birth and hospital stay 🥰

My first birth my husband and I practiced all these labor techniques but when I went into labor I just wanted to be alone! The next one, I told him just go to sleep and I woke him up during transition. Then the last one I didn’t really go into labor after my water broke (even though I had done all the moves) so got pitocin/epidural and we just hung out. The nurses helped me move around with the peanut ball, then it was time to push! Mostly I needed my husband during pregnancy to push on my back or pick stuff up lol

5000 births seems kind of exaggerated if you are less than 30 years in the profession.
