    The foregrip is the Magpul MVG and the rear grip just has hockey tape.
    I'm not answering this again.

    I miss the days when these rifles were $100. Even my gsg15 isn't as much fun as the savage 64. Only thing I don't like about it is the mag release.

    Great review sir. I'm shopping around for one as we speak. couple things, (1) as for the grip irritation issue, a piece of felt on 2 sided tape should provide a fix and (2) I just dropped in an MCARBO trigger spring kit on my 64F, the difference is day and night. thank u sir.

    I just bought this rifle and and a GSG16 last year. Hands down the quality of this rifle is better. Better steel magazines, less plastic parts to deal with that will ultimately strip out after so many cleanings. Only thing better about the GSG is the bolt hold open feature. Even though they suggest removing that feature from the bolt to stop the feeding issues with it. 22’s a 22’s a 22 otherwise.

    Nice video overall. My only issue was with the accuracy testing. You shot too fast and used bulk ammo. If you want to really see closer to the gun's mechanical accuracy, you should rest the rifle with better support, shoot slower, and use a higher quality load of ammunition. I believe the gun is capable of sub 2 moa accuracy, maybe sub 1.5 moa.

    You were totally the reason i bought this rifle here in montana as my little plinker/backpacking rifle and honest the really reason i was not at all disappointed or anything when i had my failure to feed issues with my magazine i had like 3 in think in the first 5 full magazines i dumped out of it ever since shes been running smooth cant wait to add all the magpul components i have for it although must ask what kind of flash hider/muzzle break are you using saw it wasnt rhe standard thread cap that comes with it anymore

    • @bats8888
      @bats8888  Год назад +2

      I'm glad I could help. The muzzle device is a S&J Hardware Micro Linear Compensator. I don't know if you can get that specific model and brand in the US. But honestly, it doesn't really do much, linear compensators are not worth it on the rifle.
      If you're in Montana, you should really look at getting a suppressor for it. I think it would fit the rifle really well. That's what I would do if they were legal in Canada.

      @Bats888 well ahead of you on that one lol got a fat 12 inch can that I'm hoping to run here soon I bought the thing for 299.99 at shiptons no tax and it was an absolute steal I just want to be able to have something small that looks nice like a linear comp on the barrel to give it some pizzaz but I will say for a Canadian made "precision" 22 rifle I absolute love it and honestly glad I followed this channel I have a nice ass houge grip on mine and it feels soooooo much better

    I can only put 13-14 rounds in the 20 round mag. Anything after that just jams. Pretty lame.
    Also. You should do a break down and cleaning video, as there are no videos for this newer rifle

    • @bats8888
      @bats8888  Год назад +3

      The mag needs breaking in. I could only load 15 rounds for a bit. I would suggest trying to load 12-15 until it feeds properly and then keep increasing until it feeds properly.
      When you take the stock off (two bottom screws), it's exactly like any other Savage 64. So you should be able to find cleaning instructions.

    My 22s usually require 10 different brands and grain weights in order tovfind maximum efficient round.

    • @bats8888
      @bats8888  Год назад

      You don't need to completely disassemble to clean. Just the two screws at the bottom, lock the bolt back, and you can clean what is needed. A deep clean would be bit more involved, you have more screws and you have to take off the barrel to take out the bolt.
      The gun is mostly just designed for a light cleaning every once in a while.

    You said its not a match rifle yet there are guys shooting matches with them. Maybe if you found the ammo ot likes and a better scope you would surprise yourself at how accurate this little gun can be. I mean the word precision is in the name and i have found it to be very accurate and i have even ran it a couple times in local matches both indoor and outdoor. While i didnt win the matches the rifle was very competitive out to 100 yards and even better between 35 to 75 yards. To say its not a match rifle isnt correct any magazine fed rifle can be used for a match ,just some may work better then others. By saying its not a match rifle may discourage someone on a tight budget from purchasing this gun and trying to shoot a match.

    • @raxyaz7911
      @raxyaz7911 7 месяцев назад +2

      I do agree with your statement. I have a Savage Model 64 21 in bbl and poly stock. Ran thousands and thousands of rounds through it. Smacking cans, clays and whatever all day at a 100 yrds with it and having fun. Using a Sig Romeo for sights.
      Now I'm having issues with the firearm. Light strikes, worn out firing pin. I clean it after I use the firearm (yes, I'm very strict on cleaning stuff that I buy). Cause I've used it so much it outlive it's parts. Needed parts but so hard to find.
      I love the firearm so much because it can drill targets and is a .22 cal.
      I stopped by at a gun store yesterday and saw the bull bbl Savage 64 (same as on this video) and bought me one, no questions asked. bought it and ran away with it.
      If you're thinking of buying this firearm. You will never be disappointed. Good price + a bull bbl.

    In my opinion, this is a target rifle, not a tactical rifle. If you want to just slap rounds down range without any technique, get 10/22, or a savage 64S. This rifle is for precision target shooting. Hence the name.
