Great! Just ordered one, couldn't resist! Owning the real thing, I'd say the springs are pretty realistic- they are hard sprung, meant to be loaded and worked all the time. Well loaded, the axles articulate well over rough ground, unladen they tend to skip. A common mod is to fit parabolic leaf springs, so your mod down to one leaf is with similar reasoning. I recon I'll be adding a weight in mine to get the axle articulation. On the model, the front shackled are at the wrong end of the spring, the very early Land Rovers were actually like that but it was quickly abandoned in favour of trailing shackles- I wonder if they can be swapped around, it will improve the ride.
Ah awesome, must be cool to own the real thing. 👍 Thanks very much for the great technical feedback, good to know I was on the right track. I noticed on another model I have the shackles are closer together too, so then under load you get better movement, whereas with these so far apart there's not much movement left. I'll try your idea of swapping the shackles around. 👍 Thanks very much and hope you enjoy yours and your real one. 👍😎
Hi rob , as a owner of the real thing I agree with the last comment they are designed to be loaded and work very well when they are . Anyway just ordered one as I couldn't resist the temptation 🤭 . Thanks for the great videos . Regards Brad.
Just got mine, thanks for the advise to reduce spring leafs to minimum! I was hoping some slow down crawling on a decent terrain, and slow motion footage. Oh well I do it myself, keep it up, buddy! 🎉
Awesome, hope you enjoy it. No worries on the advice, definitely look at those leaf spring arms too, as mine were really stiff. You may just get away with loosening the screws off a little. 👍
Very nice review, absolutely love the details on this and I didn't know they made RC cars with leaf spring suspension! It looked a little odd without the mud on it at 5:48 😂 but once the tyres were dirty it looked much more natural in its environment 💯 Also nice to know other people are using Uppbeat for their music in videos!
Thanks very much mate 👍 Yeah it looks awesome doesn't it, so many scale details. Hopefully with better suspension it'll be much better. 🤣 There wasn't any decent mud to go through unfortunately. Yeah I use Uppbeat, I like free stuff! 🤣👍
Nice work Rob, this little truck looks amazing and so scale. Not the greatest performer but I guess if you are into scale people are going to not mind that too much. I LOVE IT!
A nice review of a great little car Rob! It bring back memories of my own 1:1 Series II😄 You've noted the suspension, if I had a comment it would be that the springs need to be more bowed, ie, the car is sitting a little too low on its springs. If the body was raised up a bit it would look a lot nicer! And a few hours of fun for you with some detail painting and it'll look fab!👍
Thanks very much mate. 👍 Yeah that's what I meant when I said the end points were too far apart, so the leafs were stretched and need to be closer together. 👍
Thatd brilliant that is i might get one and paint it the same colour as my series 2 the only criticism i have with it is that its sat too low on its leaf springs there should be more gap between the body and the wheels should be easy enough to remedy tho
The details are fantastic aren't they. 👍 Yeah I mentioned in the video the suspension isn't the best. The shackles(someone told me what they're called) are too far apart imo. 👍
Thanks very much 👍 Yeah if definitely needs better suspension. It does have shocks as well, but they don't do much. The main issue would be clearance. I think adjusting the mounting points for the leafs would make a big difference, as they're too far apart. It's on my list of things to try. 👍
Looks like it needs dampers. It’s bouncing all over the show. Also shame on some scale aspects. The leaf spring shackles are on the wrong end of the front springs. Land Rovers have them on the rear of the spring, not the front.

Awesome. All these details and functioms on the car. 🤩. Thanls for showing.
The scale details are amazing aren't they. I think with some better suspension it would be much better. 👍
Now that is a legend rig! Really loving FMS with the products theyre realeasing, something for everyone! 👌👌👌💯💯💯
It looks fantastic doesn't it. Yeah they're knocking them out atm aren't they. I really want the new FJ, that looks awesome. 👍😎

Hope you enjoy. They've got great scale details and with better suspension I think they'll look great. 👍
Nice. I’d love to see Fms make this in 1/10
Yes totally agree! 1/10 please!!!
Yeah that would be awesome, would definitely help it be more capable in tenth scale. 👍
@@DoURC very happy how FMS is upping their game, their 1:10 FJ40 is a game changer!

@@DoURC yeah, that was also making a difference! I'm gonna put some weight on it, too...

@@DoURC well hopefully you can get it in some mud soon 😂
Who doesn't love free stuff 😁
@firewaffle1 🤣 Yeah hopefully, it's a Landy, it's got to go in mud, it's like a written rule isn't it! 🤣👍
Great video man 👍 very cool RC hope I can buy one sometime looks amazing
Thanks very much 👍
It looks great doesn't it, the scale details are just awesome. Hope you manage to get one. 👍
@@DoURC yeah definitely cheers

I love it too!!! Get it mate!
Thanks very much mate 👍
Yeah being so scale it's going to struggle a bit either way tbh. I think with better suspension it would be much better. 👍

Do you think you could correct that? @@DoURC
@@SandJ-Adventures Possibly, but you'd have to make new mounting holes in the chassis rails. I'll take a look and see what options there are. 👍
cool rc and great unboxing, awesome off road run
Thanks very much mate, appreciate it. 👍
Very Nice vidéo my friend 😊
Thanks very much mate, appreciate it. 👍
The "hinge piece" is called a leaf spring shackle.

Great review....Thank you
Thanks very much 👍
Great details! But if you're nick picking, as far as I can tell the steering wheel is not the ones that comes with the steel dash series land rover.
Sounds like you've an eye for detail. 👍
Whare can you buy this land rover from as l live in Australia thanks Barry.
Hi Barry, there's a link in the description to FMS website where you can buy it from. 👍
If you use my link it helps support the channel. 👍😁

Nice review and good car, may I ask can it change wheel and tire?
Thanks very much. 👍
Yes you can do yeah. 👍
@@DoURC Thank you very much for your answer.🫶 Which size of wheel it use?
nice👍👋

Yeah it does need some mods out the box tbh to get the best out of it. 👍
