Saw a full-grown adult at a LFS last year, and knew right then I had to have one in my tank! Went back to the same store a couple days ago for some supplies. They had some good looking juveniles, and I had room on my grow out. Best impulse purchase I ever made!
I loved my eye bitter when I kept Malawians. I have been keeping tangs for 20+ years and one of my favorites in the Altolamprologus Compressicips. Brothers from another mother.
Thanks! It was in the tank. I really liked it for awhile but changed it up recently. Here's the video we did on the install of the background: ruclips.net/video/CHl13lW21UM/видео.html

What up brother. I've had a few of these fish over the years and the ones I've had were gorgeous but unfortunately they were killers so i had to rehome them. Now like all African chiclids sometimes you can find one that's not a killer. I decided to get a strigatus which looks rather similar and not as aggressive or at least the large male i have is peaceful. Later bro love you're podcasts!! How about a profile on the fossocromis rostratus.
Nice and beautiful fish but too mean for me peacocks are not as badd you just have to have alot of room and hiding spot with rocks to make caves thanks for sharing
Love your videos…I live about 90 miles west of Chicago and was wondering if you can tell me where you purchase your large driftwood pieces that are mounted to slate.Keep up the awesome videos 🙏
hi everyone. i am considering a 5 foot tank which is 156 gallons or a couple more centimetres wider and taller than a 5x2x2 . planning on a senegal bichir and an oscar. would i be able to add anything else like dithers, bottom feeders or 2 - 3 medium ish cichlids. would appreciate some advice
In few years on the lake I never seen this fish amongst the rock. Only time I have seen the was in patches of reeds right on the shore. There they stay stationary angled head down stalking fry of other fish who do hide in those reeds.
Hi cichlid bros I have a question can you keep them alone I have a 110 gallon tank and I am wondering do they need tank mates or can you keep them alone because I want to keep him alone he will have alot of space to swim this tank is huge
hey Alec, when is my MEB gonna turn blue, he is silver with red outline on dorsal fin,he is about 5-6 months old. I got him as a fry 1 1-2” about 4 mos ago ?
I grow up 2 of them from 1"-2" they are 4"-5" each now I think I got 2 female 😢 They have no sign of male character at all, round fin, no color and big tummy.
These fish need real or plastic Val. for them to act naturally I grew mine from 1 1/2 inches all four act so natural when placed in a natural habitat with caves and floating plastic ivy. I make my own frozen food cooked and chopped shrimp, also tuna and small sinking pellets I don’t feed big pellets due to bloat emphasize Small pellets I do not over feed. These fish 10 second rule food all gone they do not eat everyday in the wild. If fed daily small amount only. Just my input Freddie Vara marine biologist 👍😎👊🏻

Thanks for watching! Aquarium Adventure in Hoffman Estates is the usual spot. SR Aquaristik in Elgin is a great spot for larger pieces

Likely will in a few months. A little more than a year or so old
What's the fish stock I. Your tank
Why did you remove the background
It didn’t sit flush against the back or stay in place very well. Liked it overall though

I would like to buy a male
Some good online retailers out there

This fish looks like a creature from avatar
What's the biggest eye biter you guys have seen?
Mine is pretty big now, about 9-10 inches which is usually around their max
