4:49 5:36 8:30 My favorite cichlid!!! Thank you for showing this. After watching a documentary on NatGeo Wild, I fell in love with this particular species because of the coloration. This video popped up and I hoped I would see this fish, and you did not disappoint. This vid is now on my Favorites list.
@@hagebycikliden569 Unfortunately, I just saw a photo of a Metriaclima with a similar pattern. Now I'm not sure which one is my favorite. It's the color pattern that I'm drawn to.
Wonderful images from Lake Malawi National Park. I did a lot of diving during my weeks stay in 1999, I have lots of 8mm videos and underwater photographs in slides, at that time the digital world was not like it is today. I remember going down to 45 meters deep at Zimbabwe Rock just to see the Otopharynx lithobates, even those on Domwe island are wonderful. Copadichromis cyaneus is one of my favorites and I have bred them for decades. I was at Chembe Lodge with some diving friends and a team, we were also guests of the legendary Mr. Stuartgrant. I'm happy to subscribe to your channel. Greetings from Italy Marco
Normally we don't go so deep little bit more than 30 m is enough and Litobathes we find already from 10 m. This year we go Mbenji, Likoma chisumulue, Taiwan reef nkatha bay and Lion cove 🇲🇼
@@hagebycikliden569 Yes also at Zimbabwe rock, Domwe, Mumbo, Thumbi West, I saw several at shallower depths but at Z. R. I tried to do a deep dive to see if they were present at depth and they were there with this yellow sulphurous dorsal band. A nice trip, I also know other friends who have traveled this area such as Peter Barnes and Tommaso Gasperini as well as the great Larry.
I still think out of all the mbuna, the original powder and dark blue P.Zebra can't be beaten for the striking looks. That's my opinion anyway and I'm sticking to it haha!
This is splashing! This is cool! This is great! This is awesome!
Thanks 😁

How come they don't have the big edible Tilapia cichlids there in the lake?
I don't know
What lodge/hotel do you recommend?
In national Park. We always stay at Cape Lodge
But there is many lodges in Cape mclear

Different catfish grow very big. Clarias and kampango 😃soon we put something together to a video 🇲🇼
