I like how Zeit went live 2 hours ago and theres already a video out! Awesome.
Because people like me post on social media faster 99% of the time and more in depth so this is how they try to keep you.
That German war machine rests for no one
Furthermore, lyrics was released so fast on his site!
Pues los videos de rammstein tienen los comentarios deshabitados, y la gente quiere expresarse en alguna parte jajaja
They didn’t want to waste any zeit lol
I like how Rammstein never goes easy when it comes to music videos. They always deliver masterpieces.
One reason to prove how great Rammstein is, you can enjoy their music by listening to the melody and instruments or by thinking for hours on their meanings
Bang on. Just don't spend hours thinking about Mein Teil or Puppe.
@ alziliya right, absolutely correct
@@gary999t Noted😂😂😂😂😂
I love listening to them since I was 12 y/o. 21 years later it is still the same. I don't even know German nor do I always need to know what they say in their songs to enjoy the music.
@@Vladimirl202 I agree... Even when I saw the translation of the lyrics, I already understood the meaning without any translation. Rammstein are amazing artists with this song and video being one of their crowning and most powerful masterpieces.
By far one of the best songs to come out before Spring. In a way, it makes you want to cherish what time you have. This is truly a masterpiece, and by far going to be something people will listen to for helping put things in perspective. Makes you want to have some good times before it all finally ends.
I'm impressed about the way you found words to describe what i fell till yesterday 17.05.
Thank's for those words i searched but haven't found myself.
@@nicolasvautravers4642 it literally paints that thought in my head. I think, deep down, Rammstein didn’t want us to live through dark times without some joy. It’s been dark for so long, that we’re letting it pass us by. We don’t need to live like it’s our last day, but live to have moments to make death less grim. I hope it makes sense, but to me it makes 100% sense to me.
@@shadowhauntjoker8501 it makes sense for me too.
I have tickets to see them this sommer for stadium which was cancelled two times because of covid, and i'm pretty sure that they are coming with big surprises to appologize for the waiting even if they have nothing to do about it.
So i truely think what you say is true.
Uhhhhhhhhhh
Well said
this songs really hits me so hard, not many songs can do that. This could be one of my favorite rammstein songs ever
It really hit me hard too. I sat down with my morning coffee, watched the video, pulled up the lyrics and listened to it again with my best phones, and once it was finished just started crying. I won’t say that’s never happened before, but it doesn’t happen often. It really just confirms what was already obvious to me: this is among my favourite bands ever.
This song and “Spring” by Rammstein have both made me cry, I listen to a lot of their songs and I love their music because I feel like they tackle a wide variety of topics and they seem to take such good care of creating meaningful lyrics and giving them good sound and life to their meaning.
Same here... Song just hit me
Powerful. Fucking powerful. It's touching on maybe the central theme of our human experience
This video and song are an absolute masterpiece. Rammstein are back to their very best. (Not that they ever left)
The lyrics here are those of a man of age. Till, the lyricist is near 60, and it's very interesting for him to touch on this subject.
Yes, this is very much some old man's lyrics. One that is well versed in classic German literature, aiming at a German audience with equal education. I wonder how many people in his real audience will be able to understand the song.
@@gulliverthegullible6667 My German is polite, but I wouldn't have known of the literature angle...thanks for letting me know! Anything specific you can teach me?
@@amygoodson-catlady this song is tied to Goethe's Faust. Some passages of the lyrics are almost quotes from that play about an old scientist who makes a pact with the devil. In the play, Faust agrees for the devil to have his soul if he would experience one moment that he wishes would last forever.
Other Rammstein songs also have roots in classic literature. Haifisch for example takes after Bertold Brecht, Rosenrot and Dalai Lama are inspired by Goethe poems.
@@gulliverthegullible6667 Oh! Big thanks for the reference! I'm familiar w Faust...its clicking now!
@@gulliverthegullible6667 yes! "Augenblick, verweile doch" is an almost direct quote from Faust.
They confirmed themselves as one of the greatest band still living and making a true masterpieces 🤘🏻👏🤘🏻👏
Can you believe they kept the same formation for 27 years??? I can't think of another band who did
@@CrankyB1tsch ZZ Top had the same lineup for 51 years until their bassist died last year.
@@OriginalGrasshopper i didn't know that tbh cool
Per zhanrin e tyre pak e qet, gjithsesi bie dakord qe Jan unikal.
I agree. It's even more incredible since they sing primarily in German. I cannot think of another foreign band (of any genre) as successful as Rammstein that sings in their non-English native language. The success they've had is remarkable.
I'm so amazed at how Rammstein can be so successful singing primarily in German. They're English language songs came after they were already famous. No other foreign language band is as successful as Rammstein is. Almost all bands need to sing in English to garner a worldwide audience. Rammstein keeping their songs in German and remaining one of the most successful bands of all time is really cool to see.
do they even have any english songs? i dont recall any...
@@raidermaxx2324 I don’t think they have any fully English songs. But they do use English a few times: amerika, stirb nicht vor mir, stripped, pussy
well right i mean "amerika" with a "k" is actually america in german. lol
@@raidermaxx2324 on their second album they had some english versions of their songs. But as far as I know, that didnt draw much attention.
@@gulliverthegullible6667 I speak both English and German and that's mainly because literal translations from German to English don't always pan out the Way we speak in English. Basically it sounds good lyrically in German but not in English.
They are the greatest band of all time. It’s not just the music. It’s not just performance art. It is absolute perfection.
I like how Rammstein act as characters in their own music videos. The farmer in the video is played by bassist Oliver Riedel
What's even better is they're presented as equals. It's always clear that the narrative reflects each member...
My biggest pet peeve with the American music industry as a whole is one band member is idolized while the others and their talents go unappreciated. Many groups have been destroyed due to this which is likely a major factor as to why Rammstein is still together and which all six original members
The other members are well there too if you look it carefully
Rammstein is not only a music band, they actually put enormous (and money) thoughts into their appearance on and off stage.
Yeah I remember when they played good music instead of trying to make a good video
@@shawncc89 They always had videos like this. Go watch some of their early videos. “Seeman” & “Du Hast”, two of my favorites, are like movies.
The special thing about Rammstein is that they really transcend generations. As a 13 year old kid, I saw Ich Will on MTV and I really liked the music - it's loud, controversial and awesome and so was the rest of their stuff. And their stage antics were unlike any other. But now that I'm in my 30's I'm really starting to figure out that there's so much more to many of their lyrics and the references. It's not just loud music about controversial subjects anymore.
And the more I start to appreciate what they do, the more I'm starting to think that Rammstein is not just a band; it's more like an art project.
I’m almost 40 and I still get excited like a child every time they come out with something new because I know it’s going to be good. This was great. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.
remember when we were both teenagers...how magical it was to hear Sehnsucht for the first time?
I'm 50 and am exactly the same. Only now I have to worry in case the excitement makes me piss myself :-)
As a german I can say that everyone knows the perfect moment is a proverb for saying we should know when to stop and thats maybe also a meaning cus its much likely gonna be their last album
Let's all hope this album will not be the last. Let's keep deny Zeit and its outcomes.
What’s that saying in German?
Nobody ever said it would be their last album... Just that it's about Time doesn't mean their time ends with this album or something.
Highly unlikely. It all started when people saw Adieu. Anyone say anything with Adios?
Don't start spreading unfounded rumours. I hear them enough already.
The time will come but it's not now.
@@sigridvanosch1990 Zeit: death to life; Adieu: life to death.

Beautiful song. Beautiful lyrics. Beautiful video.
Two more comments about the lyrics: At 3:58 in the original video, Lindemann sings "Aufhören, wenn's am Schönsten ist" ("Quit/ Stop at the very best moment") is a typical German saying which parents use to stop their children's play or which somebody says while leaving the party. Some seconds later he sings "Augenblick, verweile doch", which refers to one of the best-known quotes in Johann Wolfgang von Goethes "Faust". Faust, the doctor, and Mephisto, the devilish counterparts, talk about the devil's pact: Faust says:
Und Schlag auf Schlag!
Werd' ich zum Augenblicke sagen:
Verweile doch! du bist so schön!
Dann magst du mich in Fesseln schlagen,
Dann will ich gern zugrunde gehn!
Dann mag die Totenglocke schallen,
Dann bist du deines Dienstes frei,
Die Uhr mag stehn, der Zeiger fallen,
Es sei die Zeit für mich vorbei!
And heartily!
When thus I hail the Moment flying:
"Ah, still delay-thou art so fair!"
Then bind me in thy bonds undying,
My final ruin then declare!
Then let the death-bell chime the token.
Then art thou from thy service free!
The clock may stop, the hand be broken,
Then Time be finished unto me!
Till Lindemann is an amazing poet his lyrics never disappoint 😍
I also see the poem by Goethe "Erlkönig" in 2:43
Where father tries to save his sick kid, who's balancing between life and death sees things, his father cannot see
And in the end this kid is welcomed by the king from forest (don't know how to call him in english) as the kid embraces king, an alegory of death
Also nochmal zur Verdeutlichung

Rammstein video's are like small movies. Absolutely amazing! As a dutchie I understand the lyrics and they fit the video extremely well. Rammstein proves German can be very poetic!

Everything Rammstein does is heart rendingly beautiful. This is no exception. Breathtaking.
As you grow older, you see people of your age fall to death and decay... Now that some of the Rammstein members are in their 50s they have this experience leading them to make this song.
Till included a quote from Goethes Faust into the lyrics of the middle8 that refers heavylie to the chorus - its about the bet between Mephisto/the devil and Faust - Faust, who over all his knowledge gained, lost the sense for reason in life - betting that if the Devil gets him to one moment where he says "verweile noch du bist so schön" (engl.: Stay but, thou art so fair) hell go down with him to hell as his servant. It is about the desperation of losing sense of worthiness when everything repeats and there is no final truth to be found in life - as life is a circle, emotions fade, memories die with us. It is about the moments where we only feel. It is deeply melancholic. desperate. maybe fearfull. and as a native speaker, having read the classic literature Till based the lyriks on this touches me real deep.
As a German it's so cool to see videos like this one, picking German lyrics apart and searching through the meanings. Fun. :)
as cool at it is I feel like thats Rammstein's way of saying good bye very soon
@@anthonyvelarde8837 Absolutely. I wouldn't be surprised for them to call it a day after this, the album being their way of saying "goodbye"

I loved Rammstein from the beginning, and this song hit me real hard, I had to take a shower after and listen to it again (shower helps me to free my mind).
But today was like I had this melody for years in my heart, that's how you see Rammstein is one of the best band ever, always surprizing, growing with the time, and so far so big that I don't know how big this will end.
And now this song is already a classic for me! Can't wait to listen to the full album!
I am german and i heard that new Rammstein song yesterday.
Yes there is great art everywhere.
But: If there is the destruction of shame in the art itself it is not good art.
Also: The feminism and the destruction of shame goes hand in hand.
Thats why people today often see something as art that is in fact freemasondiscolored shameless and evil stuff.
Rammstein has art for the world but it is not art for the soul i think.
And thats why you should maybe shower a little bit longer in the future (and yes i have the same nature than every human).
@@DrZergling "same nature as every human" Don't worry, I see it! You came to judge the feelings of somebody you don't know! I don't care if it is art or not, I love it and that's enough for me! So next time you shower don't forget the soap because the way you judge smells like shit.
@@nicolasvautravers4642 lol.. that clown needed that slap in the face
This is art
I first heard this band when I was 5 and I am now 23. These legends have never disappointed..and Zeit is no exception. It is an utter masterpiece
I think it's also based on "Goethes Faust", Heinrich Faust will lose a bet to the devil if he wants a moment to linger forever, he will lose if he says: Ah, linger on, thou art so fair!
It's about the understanding that nothing is forever and thats how it should be, its necessary for progress after all.
sry englisch is not my native language.
My old dog got really sick these past few days and this song really has brought a lot of meaning to not only him but life. Time waits for noone, not even animals
There are very few musicians nowadays that have the talent that Rammstein has. Their music is art.
Rammstein never misses when it comes to their ballads. Zeit is just as impactful and beautiful as Ohne Dich, Mein Herz Brennt, or Mutter, absolute masterpiece!
They really have beautiful ballads, but I wouldn't consider mein Herz brennt as one
@@goldenltd1970 remember mein herz Brennt has two different versions, the original is a bit heavy, but I could see the second one being considered a sort of ballad
The moment at 3:00 is so powerful

I already watched it a dozen time ^^
Yes the music is a masterpiece, but no one mention the videographers, etc. Thanks to them for the superb cinematography
the fact that for some reason the comment section is closed in the official Rammstein video brought us here. Thank you for the very quick upload. I'm no Rammstein fan, but this is truly fantastic to me, a real masterpiece, a complete work of heart. Chapeau

@@markw4714 what? Such strange phrasing, and no I think that is the last reason the comments would be closed. Also, don’t demonize a whole country of people because there are always those who have issues with things no matter the location.
Another aspect to this video and song you didn't mention, is the hypnotizing way it draws you in. The faint slow tempo piano and woman's vocals almost "siren" like. Forcing you to wonder, and listen. This sets the stage for the lyrics and filmography to make the message bold and clear. I don't know German, maybe just a few words, but I knew the song and what it meant by listening and seeing the video.
True, raw, reality of existence in time and space. Dark and light. Reflected back with our minds perception.
It's almost as if the song is now an animated painting with audible paint in my mind, a masterpiece.
Here I am, listening to the song and crying like there's no tomorrow.
A true masterpiece. And, as a spectator of yet another war in the heart of Europe, a perfect match for my mood in these last weeks.
Rammstein is a complete experience. You can be blown away by their music, have every sense obliterated at one of their gigs, but if you want to delve deeper, they just keep giving.
I guess Zeit has the most direct lyric ever from Rammstein. Great song!!
I love rammstein and their deep meanings in the songs and videos! Amazing
What I'd like to mention is that it is probably their last album and that the band isn't spared by time too, although they would actually like to go on.
Seeing them on the little boat in the rough see is the meaing for their difficulties they had during their career but "they kept paddling" and then figure of time appears and thats the thing which is taking them out.
Knowing that it is also about the bands coming end gives the song another touch. That is pure Rammstein style. It touched me too... again :)
have you seen their newest video? lol i think its called "zick zack" which tranlates to "tic tock"
Just an incredibly beautiful song and video. Such intense meaning and feeling in the lyrics. Till sings throughout the entire song. SINGS, not aggressive metal singing, but melodic and beautiful.
Also, they have named the “reaper” Zeithüter, or Timekeeper.
This is one of Rammstein's best songs. It might be my favorite song of theirs. When I read the English interpretation, it was even more powerful, especially when he was begging time to stop in the chorus. Amazing song. As far as the meaning (of the video anyway) I think it visualizes the process of death and rebirth.
Incredible video and song. They never fail to put out incredible thought provoking videos.

Alt translation of the lyrics, makes it a lot less clunky in English.
Time
Some should, some shouldn't
We can see, but we are blind
We cast shadows without light
After us there will be before
The youth will become misery
We keep dying till we live
Dying alive in death
We resist the end
No hurry, only moving forward
Infinity waves on the bank.
Caught in the river of...
Time.
Please, stop, don't move
Time
This is how it should always be.
Warm body will soon be cold
You can't summon the future
Do not tolerate staying
Created and destroyed at once
I lie here in your arms
Oh, could it last forever
But time knows no mercy
The moment is already over.
Time.
Please, stop, don't move
Time
This is how it should always be.
Time.
It is so beautiful, so beautiful
Everyone knows,
The perfect moment
Time.
Please, stop, don't move.
When our time is over
Then it's time to go
To stop, when it's the most beautiful
The clock stops
The moment is so perfect
But the time goes on
(This) Second; stay.
I'm not ready yet
Time.
Please, stop, don't move.
Time;
This is how it should always be.
Time;
It is so beautiful, so beautiful
Everyone knows
The perfect moment

I am sure that "Jeder kennt / den perfekten Moment" (Everybody knows the perfect moment) refers to Goethe's "Faust": "Werd ich zum Augenblicke sagen: Verweile doch! du bist so schön! Dann magst du mich in Fesseln schlagen, Dann will ich gern zugrunde gehn!" Goethe basically makes the (obvious) point that everything is transitory, and the (not so obvious) point that this a very, very good thing.
Cannot believe it's been just over 10 years since I saw Rammstein at the O2 in London.
Zeit
.. bitte, bleib stehen :'(
?? I might just have a wild imagination, but I noticed some things that nobody has mentioned:
Since the song came out after the Ukrainian war, I thought the song was intended to make a powerful message about the war.
At the beginning, the rope is symbolic for an ambilocal cord with the men in water (like in a womb).??
When I saw the sands of time and the birthing scene, I thought of the tree of life
At the end, the farmers had sickles instead of the grim reapers.
What do you think???
Rammstein lyrics are among the best in the music industry. Ambiguous and no topic is taboo....EPIC
Beautiful, sobering meaning
"Aufhören, wenn´s am schönsten ist" - Quit something when it feels the best." I got a feeling it´s a song about things coming to an end and slowly passing the torch altough you never want time to pass and go to dust in the end. "The perfect moment"...maybe it´s their artistic foreshadowing of a farewell album. If that´s the case then this song and video is a perfect fit. It´s beautiful, majestic, sad and bittersweet all at once. Who ever and whatever you love or love to do...you have to say good bye eventually at one point, no matter how much you want the beautiful moments to last. Definitely hit a nerve with me and made me tear up.
Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust. The illusion in infinity. Rod Serling would have used this in a segment...had he not been born in that horrible era that caused his traumatic PTSD.
Creator of the twilight zone. Not many know of this man.
I am really not a guy that cry (which does not mean I am tougher than someone else) but this song brought the tears so close for some reasons
Now that this song has been released, hear me out: Rammstein performing live with Hans Zimmer. Anyone else thinks it would be fire?

That video is fucking incredible!
This masterpiece has to me a simple but all powerful premise, the merciless nature of time. We may not realize it in our every day life, but time is the most powerful force of all, it does not bend, ever. That is to me what they lament, a theory empowered by their end statement in the song "Ein jeder kennt, Den perfekten Moment". Everyone has that moment in life where we would choose for time to arrest.
There is a Japanese term: Mono no aware. It means basically, the sad beauty of seeing time pass - the aching awareness of impermanence. These are the days that we will return to one day in the future only in memories.
The sand goes up in the hourglass, it's basically "Return to innocence" by Enigma only a bit heavier.
i am impressed. congratulations for this reaction...
Excellent!!!
I don't want to know. This fantastic song and video moved me so deep it hurt 💔 loved it.
Went through a good chunk of comments and was surprised nobody mentioned the similarities in the video and general theme of the song with German series Dark. Looks like the band are aware of it and tried to make a sort of a tribute. It is especially noticable in the farmers' scene, but the vibe, artstyle and colors are generally very alike.
