Oakland Zoo mountain lion cub relaxes with some 'hammock time'

Oakland Zoo’s foster mountain lion cub Willow was seen enjoying “hammock time” in footage posted on April 25.
Willow and his sister, Maple, came to Oakland Zoo in November, after their mother was killed in a road collision, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums said.
The pair were the 25th and 26th mountain lions rescued as part of the zoo’s rescue and recovery program.
The cubs will not stay at Oakland Zoo permanently, the zoo said, adding that the California Department of Fish and Wildlife is working to find them a “furrever home”.
That’s one thing about cats. They know how to relax.
They were born to relax at the expense of humans.

Such a beautiful lil cub. Seeing it in the hammock reminds me of that old Goofy cartoon where he and a mountain lion kept trying to boot each other out of his new hammock.
This is just a overgrown housecat. And a cutie pie at that.
Mountain lions are the largest cats that can still purr! They're more closely related to housecats than actual lions.

They are quite comparable in size to the leopards and jaguars and surprisingly despite being more closely related to the smaller or lesser wild cats that can purr instead of roar including the domestic cats, they can interbreed with both leopards and jaguars to create hybrids, the hybrid cross between leopards and mountain lions are called pumapards. These have been created, in captivity, and were quite popular at one point but not as popular as the other big cat and wild×domestic cat hybrids. Interesting fact for ya haha.

@@5Li0n50fGod7 I'm gonna need a citation for the puma/leopard and puma/jaguar crossbreeding. Don't try to post links; RUclips would almost certainly block them. Just the name of a reputable source. I could believe puma/cheetah might be barely possible, since they're so closely related.
Such a beautiful creature! I guess kitty would prefer to be free and in the wild, but beautiful kitty does seem happy, relaxed, healthy, and well taken care of. 🙏🧡🙂
