    Sorry, but Carpenterville already won the award.

    What's the point of these meetings if you cannot hear what is being said.

    Diogenes would have a hard time finding an honest man at this meeting and ... many, many others. why are positions on city and town boards a paid position?

    where is Ellisville?

      There are 3 that I know of, Mississippi, Florida and New York. I'm pretty sure this one is in New York.

      I think this is in Missouri. The city seal has “MO” on the bottom and the state flag to the right of the city seal seems to be the state flag of Missouri.

    but the people who are upset never run for office...it's easier to sit in the audience, disrupt meetings, and hurl insults.

    • @harrycallahan8573
      @harrycallahan8573 8 месяцев назад +1

      Actually, the people in the audience have authority over the office holders, they just don't exercise it enough, so our elected officials lose sight of that fact.

    • @timheidel5849
      @timheidel5849 8 месяцев назад

      @@harrycallahan8573 I understand...but if people don't like what the officeholders are doing, they may have no choice but to run for office and replace them. But, in my experience, most people just complain because they are too lazy to run for office...or coach their kids' teams ...or be a referee at games, etc.

      Nothing wrong confronting officials with their wrong doing, is it? They do get paid to sit there. If the officials were doing their jobs as they should, there would be no problem at all. They chose to get that job, they weren't forced into it. Right?

      @@dantealighieri9540 True, they aren't forced to take those jobs. I also believe that we need a level of civility when we confront elected officials.
