I’m glad you made this video. I bought a Bernina 770 QE. I can’t believe that such an expensive machine has so many issues with the thread bobbin case .My machine has gone to the technician 3 times in one year and I’ve changed thread from aurifil to meddler . I’m not happy with this machine but now I’m stuck with it.
Great stuff. Thank you. When I got my Bernina they stressed being gentle with the bobbin and not get too aggressive with the cleaning brush as it can dislodge the spring.
THANK YOU CODY! i was having so many issues with the bobbin thread spooling up. Im very new to embroidering and couldnt figure out what was going on! I was about to throw my B79 through the window. Adjusting this one thing changed everything! Thank you so much.
Do you recommend a pre wound bobbin ? I'm not sure if I'm winding my thread correctly. Also should you use the same bobbin thread for your embroidery that you use for sewing? I have a 2 in one machine. I'm only asking because I just received my machine ?
Thank you! Scoured the Internet and only you showed potential issues with the bobbin case with excellent close up pictures. Love your videos. So helpful!
Thanks, Cody, this is good to know as I progress in using my machine and discovering more and more. I see you still have your B770 QE...... its the same one I have......love it, I'm spoiled with this machine. Take care.
This is what has happened to me! I ended up going between 2 bobbins. Fixing the one bobbin that got tangled, and then putting in another one. I just kept going back and forth and fixing each one while sewing with the fixed one. Thanks for the tip about maybe they are being filled too much.
Really appreciate your videos. I learn a lot that makes me like my bernina even more. Could you talk about sewing the hand quilting look stitch with pearl cotton? I have a 570QE.
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL, I just traded my 770QE for a 790Plus, what a difference. If you get a chance, could you go over how to manipulate the design stitches on the sewing side. I am having trouble making it small enough to fit into a space. I am trying to do a design stitch in between a button hole, but it is either too long or not long enough. I know I need it to be a one time instead of going on and on, but the middle part I cannot control. Hope this makes sense. It always comes up with the start and end parts and then the middle part, I need to adjust the middle but sometimes it will keep going before it comes to the end part. It only gives me three choices, and they do not always fit.
Hi Cody.. greetings from Istanbul, Turkiye. I bought my B79 few weeks ago but I have been having problems. The shop is not as helpful as they should at least they cannot solve this problem.. so I am hoping you can. I have been trying to embroider cotton fabric by using needle no.8 as suggested, but the top stitch is awefully loose.. I did everything I was told checking the threads, tensions..etc but still making terrible sound and stop. I need desperate help. I have planned so may projects for new years and I cannot do anything :(((
I too have a B79 and I like the machine, but it’s nothing like my old (Brother) machine. I pray I don’t have any issues with my machine, for I’m going to have a fit. 🙃🙃
Cody, what are the differences between the standard bobbin case and the red and yellow bobbin cases? Thank you, your videos are always very informative!
Thank you so much for all your videos. Your instructions are always concise and informative. Bobbins have been one of the most intimidating part of any machine I have used thus I often tended to give up on sewing because of not understanding how they worked. I never realized how important my knowledge of thread and what type to use with a project could make sewing successful. I specifically bought my Bernina because of the issues I was having in my past. Please do a video that goes into further detail about possible problems with the case and it’s removal. I had an experience with the jumbo bobbin jamming where I could not remove it.🪡😀🌟
I have 770 qe tula pink. I have had my bobbin to get stuck inside the case twice now. So you have any idea why this happens? I've learned how to get it apart but scares me since it involves using screw driver to push it out while holding in the bar across case.
Cody, my machine keeps saying bobbin is empty when it is not. I've changed bobbin threads 3 times but still getting that message while embroidering. Any suggestions?
What happened to your videos on the 880? I have one and noticed on you tube that a lot of Bernina folks are removing them. Makes me worried about owning one.
My 750 QE is the invisible problem child, I guess. Almost nothing on RUclips. It is so frustrating because I have a lot of $$$ invested in the machine, embroidery module , hoops and other expensive accessories.
@@kpersons I have a B750 as well as a B740 and a B480. The 750 is, as you put it, a problem child. This was one of the first jumbo bobbin machines and they screwed up. It may be that it had a shortish lifespan as a result so next to no youtube videos. Actually a good machine except for the infamous drunken stitch problem in the first few needle positions right of centre. Mine was supposed to have been fixed, but it wasn't. As I have other machines, I've not bothered to see if it can be fixed. Also the lower thread warning and thread cutter don't work reliably, but that's a general Bernina problem with many models I think. Bernina would, I'm sure, like to forget the 750 other than still making the bobbin holders available. They changed the user interface as well so it's not quite the same as the current machines, but most of what you see on youtube for comparable machines still applies. What it does have that neither the B480 or B740 have is the proper basting stitch options. Have to say that compared with those others the 750 is a smoother and quieter machine, so don't give up on it.

You are a great teacher. You have ensured that I enjoy and learn what my Bernina can do. Thank you

That answered some of my questions. You're always my 'go to' when I want to learn anything. Thank you so much!
Very informative as usual! Thank you Cody!!

Thanks Cody. I watched your combining stitch video. For some reason my b79 will not make any decorative stitching. They all come out the same.
I too have a B79 and I like the machine, but it’s nothing like my old (Brother) machine. I pray I don’t have any issues with my machine, for I’m going to have a fit. 🙃🙃
I later took my B79 to my local shop to find out I had the wrong face plate on. I needed to switch to the embroidery face plate.
Thank you! Your videos are great, and I appreciate the time you put o into educating us.

Great Tip!!!! I’m having issues with trying to use 13 wt in my Q16. Any suggestions?
Cody do you use the 80 wt Wonderfil as your top thread as well?
Great information. Thanks!

Is the B790 able to be updated with Apple computers without using Microsoft program. I have yet to find a machine that accepts Apple.
Thanks!
