College courses are taught to adults not “Kids”. This isn’t Kindergarten.

As others already mentioned, if they won't allow AP African studies then let's get rid of the European studies, French studies, German studies, Latin studies and Asian AP courses also.
Sorry but what’s so great about Africa? I mean it’s beautiful and its people don’t deserve anything bad and i hope the best for them but.. how do I put this? They literally are like the only continent thats habitable thats not evolved like at all. They live in villages. I mean respect to them because I doubt most Americans could do that but why would we learn about an under developed place? The Europeans created a lot of what you use today as did the French, Germans, Latins, and Asians. The African people have the potential and the great minds they just need to focus on their own country and build it up piece by piece. Then maybe we can learn about how they turned everything around. I really don’t mean to offend anyone and genuinely don’t understand why we would take time to learn about this? If someone could explain (nicely) why then I might change my mind. Sorry and have a goodnight everyone ❤

North Africans dominated the Iberian peninsula for centuries and actually helped create modern Spanish and Portuguese cultures. African hybrid cultures from the transatlantic slave trade have created major cultural influences in Cuba, Brazil, Colombia, the USA, and many other new world countries.
Eastern Africa is the scientific birthplace of humanity, Northeast Africa is home to one of the oldest civilizations in human history. Africa has more genetic diversity in its humanity then all other continents combined. Africa has some of the fastest growing economies in the world and investment opportunities will be excellent if the countries could curb corruption and tribalism. Despite what you say, every couple of years there’s historical archaeological evidence being unearthed in Africa that suggests that we actually know a small scale of its true history. It’s a mysterious continent and should be explored and studied as much as Europe in my opinion.
An African studies course would definitely be welcomed in my home and my kids would take it. The world is so much more than Europe, Asia and America. I love this generation of kids because they’re not afraid to call out the establishment on their favoritism of Western culture and they now understand how institutionalized racism keeps students from learning about Africa. Why would a “democracy” restrict education?
The course isn't even banned, it's being blocked for revision. Chill.

Obviously their 1st Amendment rights cannot be violated so they still have freedom of religion, assembly, speech, petition, and press. If you actually read the district rules you’d understand since students are minors then we can sometimes loose our right to free speech if it is offensive or disrupts learning. In my opinion things unrelated to school need to be kept out of it.

When I first saw news articles saying that DeSantis denied AP African American History, I was confused on why, as African Americans do play a big role in American history. After seeing this video now I see why DeSantis blocked it. I hope the course is revised, so it can be taught.

Not before, but when I saw the video in full, I understood completely why it was rejected.
Any revision won’t be the complete and bitter truth. Therefore it’s useless. I find it odd that many places in the south including Florida still have ropes hanging from 300 year old trees. And no body bats an eye. Teaching the whole truth may put this country back into civil war. When they said no reparations, they meant it.

It's an elective course and if you pass the AP exam you get college credits in a general college African American studies course. The same goes for a AP Psychology course or a AP Geography course.

Psychology is a common program that is offered at nearly every college.
