The il4 tdi engines are very reliable too (got some 2.0 tdis with 280k, 540k and 230k km in my family. Just ask the owner about things like that and when they were last done. Though you should always be careful buying a modified car... There are well looked after ones, but also total shitboxes out there... Wish you the best of luck!
@MrPista I see, thanks once again! You have been of much more help than anyone on reddit! I dont have the budget for brand new cars "yet" , so finding an old beauty that is well taken care of can be quite difficult. I'd personally take a manual transmission, but it's mostly up to preference of course (as long as you don't buy a multitronic automatic)
Most engine problems are only for the 4cyl ones And tbh, I apreciate you being thoughtful and bringing in Some own knowledge and stuff! But there are Some things wrong about any car... Even Toyotas are not compleley indestructible Also with the 3.0 tdi which is one of VWs best engines ever, after Like 250k km or sth the turbos can go Bad, fuel injectors too, throttle bodies can just quit or the Suspension can be damaged becauese of the age and weight But the A5 is doing pretty Well and can offer (how I think) fun and beauty to a comfy daily driver that you can enjoy Even if the compromise for that is giving up a bit of Reliability compared to a Corolla or sth🤷♂️
True, I think I forgot to mentioned it in the Video tbh They should be a lot of fun for sure But the 4cyl engines have more Reliability issues than the V6s So I'm not gonna say a 2.0 tfsi would be Bad or anything but I personally would rather get a 3.0 tdi and 240hp

I mean they got like 240HP and a 2.0 for example like 150HP I think... So you really feel a difference in speed and fun. Also the 3.0 comes with quattro as Standard and the other ones can also be just FWD. There also is the 2.7 tdi with 200HP, but they are a little worse on fuel than a 3.0, so no need to get one...
The il4 tdi engines are very reliable too (got some 2.0 tdis with 280k, 540k and 230k km in my family. Never had any Real issues) but they are rather for commuting, instead of more fun drives🤷♂️
So depending on the condition of the car you're looking at, you just might need to do maintnance stuff like sparkplugs or Fluid changes, or maybe need to fix up some suspension parts, if sth isn't right.
I just became a car guy when I kept looking back at the audi A lineups on the street. I just need one too. (Currently owning a 2023 Mini Cooper S). I miss having manuel, petrol car. Now I just gotta figure out all of the important parts and maintenance control of the A5. ❤
@@Dramox. No worries! I love the A5 and would love to get one myself, as my first car, soon, so I love talking about them haha
Glad that I could help you🤝
A 2023 cooper s doesn't Sound cheap... But they are nice cars.
The thing with being a carguy is, that you'll probably end up not wanting a lot of Brand New cars, but rather a bit older ones. That are more beautiful, fun to drive, engaging and of better value for the money yk
Btw, you can find the A5 as a manual too if that's important to you, also on the 3.0tdi. I'd personally take a manual transmission, but it's mostly up to preference of course (as long as you don't buy a multitronic automatic)
🤣....yes, a good daily driver if you enjoy!
Cam follower issues
Oil consumption issues
Electronic emergency brake issues
Coil failures
Sludge issues
PVC issues!
Most engine problems are only for the 4cyl ones
And tbh, I apreciate you being thoughtful and bringing in Some own knowledge and stuff! But there are Some things wrong about any car... Even Toyotas are not compleley indestructible
Also with the 3.0 tdi which is one of VWs best engines ever, after Like 250k km or sth the turbos can go Bad, fuel injectors too, throttle bodies can just quit or the Suspension can be damaged becauese of the age and weight
But the A5 is doing pretty Well and can offer (how I think) fun and beauty to a comfy daily driver that you can enjoy
Even if the compromise for that is giving up a bit of Reliability compared to a Corolla or sth🤷♂️
You can have 2.0 quattro with 252hp
True, I think I forgot to mentioned it in the Video tbh
They should be a lot of fun for sure
But the 4cyl engines have more Reliability issues than the V6s
So I'm not gonna say a 2.0 tfsi would be Bad or anything but I personally would rather get a 3.0 tdi and 240hp
@@MrPista I just bough a 2017 sline 252 and is pretty fast . But a friend of mine has the same car and for 3 years he had no problem with the engine.
@@kilyk21 that Sounds pretty good! Don't know too much Detail about these 4 bangers rbh
But as long as you guys don't have any issues enjoying them, I'll remember it as being Reliable
First car...... insurance cheap....... I doubt those two statements should refer a v6 sub 10 seconds to 60mph car.
@@petethebeat48 Alright, I get your point of course. But cheap is relative here, because no first car is Cheap to insure.
But when it costs like nearly 1k to insure an older Civic or sth, a 3.0 tdi A5 for 1.5k a year in insurance isn't too bad (but obviously still expensive)
And most of the time, your should insure your first car through your parents... That's a lot cheaper in general...
And 10s 0-60 isn't really fast... A 2014 Corolla does it in 9,7 so I don't think that matters to be honest. Though I might be wrong here, idk🤷♂️
Bistn Deutscher richtig? :D
In der Tat haha
Wie hast dus so einfach gemerkt?
@@MrPista den Akzent hört man immer irgendwie raus 😄
@@ruhruh1006 Ach komm, dachte hab fast keinen👀

I'm not really shure what you mean tbh👀
They are super Reliable, Look awsome and have Power
So they are one of the Best cheap cars to buy
ay have you got your yet?;)
I'm still 16, don't have my license jet, just Kind of have the money for it so... Sadly not :/

@@beam.studios I still have a good sum of money but most of it is in Stocks and stuff so I can't use it lol
I guess it will take about 1.5 years for me... So hurry up with that Porsche haha
@TeenageCarguyMind haha dam u invest in stocks too? Ur pretty mature for your age,ill try my best xd
@@beam.studios I mean it's the better Option to finding dumb and useless ways to spend my money Like others in my school🗿
rip too expensive in my country
Damn, I feel Sorry for you bro... How much are they?
How come we don't know about Audi A5? 😅😅😅 You're late for the game dude
Well, most people don't even bother with 'older' cars. And especially people in America, rarely get the A5 a lot of attention 🤷♂️
So I mean, I get you point my guy, but these cars are still quite underrated
@@MrPista I love old car too but mostly the old flagship, but actually cheap and cool car doesn't necessarily need to be an old flagship, try the used Genesis G70 first gen, it's cheaper than new Corolla or Civic.
@@AlMansurpictures I really like such cars too! It's just the best deal you can get for your money haha
Genesis generally really impressed me over the last few years, but here in Germany they aren't really cheap
Btw, most used cars are cheaper than a New Corolla or Civic👀
A4 better lol
@@stephenEs3532 I mean, yes. BUT the A5 Looks better I think👀
And basically the A4 is just more practical ... The rest is essentially the same hahah
Why so you think the A4 is better? I'm genuenly curious now
Still a Audi fucking Glory VW
I mean yeah, but I don't See the problem tbh
Huracans are better R8s, Cayennes are better VW Tuaregs🤷♂️
