nice car
@@jackylee1241 That's like the most perfectly simple description of the E38 I'ver ever herad 😂
A z4 is the most fun you can have with a car for around 5k .
@@Shayler-j3g Can't dissagree with you hahah It's definetly up there And even though Miatas are decent competition, I also prefer the Z4 🤝 more special, bigger engines and better looks
i bought the e39 M5 that i grew up in from my dad, been working on fixing it up now. I could not be any happier with my first car
@@WynterMichey Oh my god man, that's amazing! First of all, your dad has to be cool as a freezer in the snow. And second of all, an E39 M5 as a first car is just sick Congratulations my guy 🙏 How much did He ask you for it? And what kind of work does it need?
@MrPista he wanted 12k USD, for 2001 with 146k miles. mostly just needed a round of service after sitting in a garage for 2 years
@@WynterMichey sounds great I think hahah Then I hope you'll love and enjoy it as your first car! Drive safe🤝
Mine 2004 2.5i Z4 can easily do 31mpg 50/50 city motorway drive. The M54 inline 6 is a masterpiece of engineering that is gifted to every driver in the world It is very easy to service, has great reliability if you just spend a little more on genuine BMW parts, and some love to care for the car, rewarding you with the ultimate driving experience. Even with the E85 Z4 soft top design flaw, the hydraulic and electric system is simply enough to repair or service, just move that soft top motor to the boot of the car and keep those hydraulic and electric lines free from rust and secure, then 99% soft top issue gone, no need for costly original computer diagnostic reset for it.
@@Jer_Ch They really are awsome cars and I still think it's incredible that they come with such a large Range of il6s, while being a relativley small sportscar! It's awsome to hear that you love and appreciate your 2.5i so much 🙏 and I surely hope you'll have many more years of Joy with it! Also thanks for the extra Info on the roof issues! I only really knew about the 'smart and safe' placement of the roof Motor... Cheers!
Nice video, really like the car review, but you should get one of those suction things which attach to your windshield to hold your phone if you are going make more car reviews.
@@AshwithYepuri-z5x Thanks a lot for the Feedback! I honestly appreciate it🙏 Yeah, that was kind of an issue making this video... The suction cup stuff is a great option. But I feel like it would be hard to see like the actual driving. Before filming, I was thinking quite a bit about how i could actually Film this and didn't have anything already available. But I will definetly get something if I keep making Videos like this... I actually thought about getting some kind of Action camera and mounting it to my motorcyle helmet 😂 that would be like the safest way becauese i never have to worry about anything being in the frame. But those aren't really cheap :/
hey congrats on your first ever review of a car, it looks very professional.
@@beam.studios Jo, my man! It's been quite a while... How are you bro? Thanks a lot! But it most definetly didn't feel professional hahah Was just driving around and struggled a bit with filming in the meantime. But it was fun for sure

I just held my phone driving hahah Don't have any kind of head strap yet nor a camera I can put on there...

I've had mine for 7 years now, had multiple E34s as well. Much better build car compared to the 5
@@alexmercer8042 oh wow! Seems like your a very classy gentleman, good sir. It's nice to hear from 1st hand experience that the E32 is actually noticably more solid than the E34👍 So thanks for sharing your expenrience and I wish you many more wonderful years with your 7 series🙏
First car...... insurance cheap....... I doubt those two statements should refer a v6 sub 10 seconds to 60mph car.
@@petethebeat48 Alright, I get your point of course. But cheap is relative here, because no first car is Cheap to insure. But when it costs like nearly 1k to insure an older Civic or sth, a 3.0 tdi A5 for 1.5k a year in insurance isn't too bad (but obviously still expensive) And most of the time, your should insure your first car through your parents... That's a lot cheaper in general... And 10s 0-60 isn't really fast... A 2014 Corolla does it in 9,7 so I don't think that matters to be honest. Though I might be wrong here, idk🤷♂️
what yall think bout e39 do this one also work well?
@@wario4794 Yes! The E39 really is an amazing car and quite solid as well. Honestly, I actually prefer them over the E38 becauese they are quicker and easier to find with a manual. @@andremarselous you're more than welcome! Ok, interesting... Why did you move from LA to Munich though?
@@MrPista I’m a singer, and I was doing a show in Hollywood and I met a woman from Innsbruck, Austria. After the show, she stayed with me in L.A. for a couple of weeks. When she left, she invited me to come and stay with her in Austria. I intended on staying 3 months, but when I did a show in Munich, I liked it so much that I decided to move there. I wondering what insurance would look like for a 1990-2000 miata for your first?
@@guy-gb6md to be honest, idrk... That depends on a heck load of stuff. Best Option would probably be to insure it through your parents I guess, as insuring your first car in your Name is damn expensive. I mean, I just turned 18 like 1 and 1/2 months ago and my parents gifted me a kind of family insurance policy. So I can drive all cars in my family circle (even Cousins and Grandparants cars that are insured by different companies) for like 400€ a year👀 Sadly it only Covers cars up to 20 years of age... So I can drive 3 cars and the other 7 or 8 not🥲 So that example also wouldn't work for your case with a Miata🤷♂️ So I suggest you to talk to your parents about it and just do more Research fitting your situation, yk?
@@MrPista thanks a lot was thinking of insuring through my parents and not pay a ridiculous price (thanks man appreciate also just subbed)
@@guy-gb6md no worries my guy, glad I could help you! And thanks a lot for the Sub! I really appreciate it 🤝
I've had a 03' 530i manual for 7 years/100k miles. despite facing every known issue on the e39, this car is always rewarding to drive and you can never not look back at it.
@@steezye3945 sounds like a fairly pleasing ownership experience haha No issues to need rocket science for, at least 😂 But I'm really glad it's worth the extra effort for you! And that you get your E39 the love and appreciation it deserves 🤝
How expensive are they to maintain?
@@Birl well, it depends. There are some rather common quirks they can have (some cheaper than others) and there is a lot of age related maintnance that comes up at some point in time. So stuff like bushings or seals can just get Bad over the years. So if you get a well maintained one, you will save yourself a lot of money and time (if they were kept up with maintnance). But if you get yourself one in Bad condition, it can get really expensive if you're unlucky...

Also das sollte alles kein Problem wirkliches Problem werden, aber man sollte bedenken dass der Wagen eher für Freude mit Budget entwickelt wurde. a quality well taken care of mk1 225 quattro sport 6 speed manual costs much more then 5k if its properly maintained with low miles and any upgrades. i proper nice one is about 8 to 15k range in the usa. yes you can get cheap junk ones that are only fwd and 150 or 180hp or convertible for 5k range but they are not the 225 proper sports model. you can find high mileage junk ones for the 5k price range but i would not recommend buying one of these. if your gonna get one it must be a 1.8t or 3.2 v6 with under 100k miles and must be well taken care of that can make the same model car worth 4k or 14k depending on who the owner was and any parts theyve upgraded. i wouldnt sell mine for a penny under 15k but mine is not your average mk1 gargae kept hard top 225 stage 1 with tens of thousands in part oem and aftermarket proper built upgrades.
@@joeyschmidt7546 I definitly get your point, that's for sure. But someone looking for a nearly immaculate used car is most likely not gonna expect to find something with 5k... @@MrPista yes i agree with you. i got a super deal on mine from a rich guy in south florida for $6,700 he had 20 super cars and needed the room for another and this was his wifes grocery car basically and had souped it up big time but i got super lucky finding this cash deal and this was before covid happened and he had replaced the timing/water pump and all maintenance records/upgrades. you also want to make sure the timing chain/belt has been replaced at 70k i find on the newer models you will see all of them for sale at 70k ish miles because they are avoiding replacing the maintenance of the timing belt trying to sell it to an unsuspecting buyer who are not educated on german cars, not realizing it costs 4-7k to pay a shop to do it. but for the price the mk1 tt is one of the cheapest entry sports cars. but it needs to have been taken care of at least half way or it can be a nightmare. i have still spent upwards of 10k in maintenance in 5 years and mine never missed a service.

@@timothydowd4180 well, if you ask me, I really think they are a great option! And depending on where you live, 6k should put you into a quite decent one...
@@MrPista thanks. My plan was to use an E39 BMW 5 series as a enthusiast practical daily driver for errands and taking my dog and parents around when needed and then use my MB SL more as a fun weekend sports car. The MB SL is horrid on gasoline and putting miles on it will result in expensive repairs down the line. So i wanted the fuel efficient e39 525i … im not into acceleration or power on a 5 series… my SL has that.
@@timothydowd4180 then it sounds like it matches your need pretty well! And as long as you get yourself a well looked after example in good condition, you should be very happy with a 525i 👍
There in not one only car ! you cant choose one because there is many of them
@@loordgabriell5694 Yeah, you're right... To be honest, I can Think of like 10 or 20 cars that I'd call perfect any second 👀 There are too many too good cars, that's for sure. So I Kind of played around with the title and turned it into a question, so I don't get roasted for clickbait hahaha
I want buy my 2nd car and i cant decide do i want E39 or honda prelde... I love both ♥
@@loordgabriell5694 I personally prefer the E39... But my car Taste is very European anyways haha Have you gotten to test drive both of them? I mean they both are great cars and deserve to be considered🤔
@@MrPista Well i own E36 like 10 years rn i did drive my uncle 525d and i like it but is too slow comparing to my 328i and ebout honda no never had a chance to drive it but i always wanted it too
@@loordgabriell5694 well, a 328i vs 525d is not really a fair comparison I think... A 530i would probably be a better Follow up to your E36. The Extra 40HP or sth should cancel out the extra weight, aber in terms of going fast
👌🏼👌🏼
3.0 TDI owner here, for the gearboxes there also is a tiptronic I think it was called gearbox, which is a 6 speed Auto, basic gearbox, very reliable tho
Monster of a car
I couldn't agree more haha
I have a 540 i 2000,sport 127,000 milse,,,very clean..7,000
Ooh that sounds like an absolute dream haha Great price, amazing car and surely a lot of fun for you👀
Time to dig up a miata for a reasonable price at my local market, like thats ever gonna happen😂
Oh man, I'm sorry for you! They really be come harder to get and more expensive in general, which is a rear bummer...
I found one on ebay
@@TheIntranetExplorer where in what kind of condition for how much? 👀
@@MrPista £1950 with one owner and 122k miles. Can't speak much on the condition other than everything works and it's been cared for
@@TheIntranetExplorer sounds great haha It really is a Hit or miss buying Miatas on a budget. Or any car to be fair But it sounds like you really came along a good Deal 🤷♂️
7k ... + 35k maybe for an alpina perfect conditions
Well sure, you're right... But the Words 'alpina' and 'perfect condition' make any car expensive 😂 And to be honest, even though I like the alpina bits, I don't think it's worth paying 5x what a 740i or 750i would be for such little difference 👀 Ok, maybe to buy it as a collectable... But that's another Story haha
@@MrPista i would pay even more for an alpina in perfect conditions
@@ur_sph But then to drive it? Or to have it as a collectable and basically baby it? Like rarely taking it out and stuff?
@@MrPista of course also 2 drive...
@@ur_sph then you'd have a pretty cool but seriously expensive daily on your Hand haha Would be incredible to own one of them...
I have a 2014 650 convertible and it looks brand new. Always getting compliments.
That's just amazing! Their engine is awsome, styling perfekt and it deserves all the compoiments you get for it haha For how long have you had your car? And how many miles did you put on it so far? 🤔
I have an 03 540 msport. 220k miles and still going strong. I've had several other newer bmws but the e39 is my favorite.
Alright... That's just freaking awsome, man! You literally have the perfect E39! But it's automatic, isn't it? And since you teased it a little, I'm really curious which other beamers you collected over time 🤔
@@MrPista hell no. 6 speed manual. E90 335 x drive, e53 v8 and f15 50i. The e90 was fast as shit but kinda tight inside. The e53 was a good suv but the ergos bugged me and the auto trans took a shit. The f15 is decent but has a lot of rattles.
@@pugs1377 I was hoping you you to say that you freaking Legend🤝 Then you really have the perfect BMW haha But you overall have pretty nice ones... Yeah, the Space in a 3 series is a Thing of its own. But these 5x Gens are pretty cool I think. Have never been in one so idk about the creaks and all, and that issue with the transmission is a real bummer... Do you have any other cars by Chance? Or are you a Full on bmw kind of guy?
@@MrPista I've had a lot of rwd Volvos and 1st gen rx7s. (Hence boosted12a) Over the decades. Volvo is by far the most reliable car I've ever owned.
@@MrPista iver had a lot of rwd Volvos and 1st gen rx7s.
Thx for your video. You make a me one sound so nice if I did not already have a mk 3 that is. Lol
You're more than welcome my guy! I'm glad you enjoyed the video 🙏 Well, that's interesting... Rarely hear anything about the mk3 TTs 🤔 But they most likely are the "better car" anyways... Though the mk1 can get you more of a shitbox deathtrap feeling when you really send it, which can be amazing
Hey, I have nothing but love for all the my one TT lovers/users/drivers for if it was not for your interest and enthusiasm Audi would never have made the mk2 or definitely not the mk3! 💜😜
@@cozmikw 😂 Might be the case But the weird Thing is that I actually know barely anything about the mk3 I think🤔 Don't know how they drive, Power specs etc becauese I never actually looked deeper into them... Only ever really looked into the mk1 (becauese it's the only one I could afford lol)
Yes definitely yes. 😊
Very clear and sensible conclusion hahah And I agree😂
2009 mercedes cls
That's a nice car to mention here and I actually really like them. Though they are rather reliable overall, especially the air ride is pretty expensive to fix if it Breaks... And I'm still having mixed opinions on the Front end and headlight Design. Rear, side and interior Look great, but the Front Looks a bit odd
got a salvage title 95' for my first car, my insurance is $167 a month
Interesting, they surely are a cool first car! But like damn, that's a lot in insurance💀I mean 2k a year is a heavy pricetag to carry... But how much did you actually pay for the car itself? I mean I'd guess like 5k maybe?
@@MrPista i was highkey expecting like $300 for insurance, i paid $3.5k
@@spoopydragon holy shit dude You got a fair Deal on the car but you're gonna pay more in insurance than the car is worth :/ And that doesn't Sound too nice I Fell like Couldn't you get into like your parents insurance policy or sth? At least here in Germany, this can save you a ton of money...
@@MrPista that's in my parent's insurance policy 💀 i'm not too bothered by it, paying a lot in insurance is kinda just how it is
@@spoopydragon oh ma fuckin hell man 💀 The Thing is that I'll turn 18 very soon and in Germany, you can drive on your own once you're 18... And I'm nearly scared by insurance and Gas prices here🥲 So I don't even know if I should buy a car (looking at manual BMW E39 528i and 530i for 2-4k) or just get my motorcycle license (costs like 3k) and look forward from there... I mean I looked at some insurance quotes a few months ago and Landed between 1.8-2.5k € a year or sth, if I get an E39 soon after my birthday. And that's not really worth it when my parents have 3 cars and I'll stay with them for a few more years
My mom says she doesn't want me to have a "tiny car" for safety purposes. I try telling her that I can be safe in them if I choose to be.
I gotta say, I get her point. She worries about your safety... But just as well I understand you wanting a fun cool car. If you get in an accident, it would be tough. BUT that's why you would and actually need to drive more carefully and cautiusly. So that would make you a better driver over time 🤷♂️ And as a random idea (idk if it's even possible) but adding a rollcage would really help protecting you a lot in a miata🤔🤔📝 As a Tipp... Don't try to convince her by telling her you can just drive save. Convince her by teeling exactley how you will be safe in a definitle matter. Yk what I mean?
@@MrPista yea, she also doesn't want me driving manual for some odd reason (I believe it was "you'll be too focused on that, not the road..." Plus I've seen Miata as automatic either way) and I've told her exactly what I'd be doing to be as safe as possible. Didn't think about the roll cage tho... That could definitely work. Thanks hahah!
@@Mel12722 that Argument about roads focus is not great I feel like... Even though I guess I understand her thought. 🤔 Driving a manual, you have to focus more on the road than in an automatic car. Becauese you gotta Look ahead and think about where to drive at what speed in which gear. Also you will be so used to changing gears that you don't need to Look away from the roads or anything at all🧐 At least that's how I'm driving haha In Germany, as I'm 17, I can only drive in Company of my parents. In my dads manual car, I have a feeling for how fast I'm going and need to put more thought into reacting to what's ahead of me and when to shift to be at whatever needed speed... In my mums automatic car, I hardly get a feel for which gear I'm even in and feel less concentrated driving it. To be fair, I have way more seat time in my dads car and I'm biased becauese I think manuals are also way more fun to drive... But I still stand for what I said And apart from that, I feel more Comfortable driving a manual, especially at lower speeds and parking, becauese I have more Precise control using the clutch (instead of waiting for what the car decides to do with it's clutch in an automatic)
Wow I’m going through the same thing with my son
@@Butterfly_47 oh, interesting! So how exactley is the parent side of this discussion like? From what I thought about so far, I really understand the worries about your sons safety. So I get why you wouldn't want him to drive a Miata. But are there maybe some reasons I Kind of skipped or left out? I'd really like to hear about your Perspektive
Had an 520i auto for 2 years, took quite a bit of work to make it a great car, but was worth it. Now owning a 528i Manuel and boy, I never imagined how big of an impact that engine would be. It feels like I was driving a lump before. Such a fun car, but insanely great cruiser. Only downside is, that the cars usually need a lot of maintenance, but that’s honestly expected of 25 year old cars
Oh man... I want one as my first car, so thanks for confirming my need for a 528i or 530i hahaha They are more expensive and maintnance Gets somewhere anyways, but the driving experience... Makes the difference between a daily and a fun daily 🏎️💨
@@MrPista I always had the same dream :D Go for it! But you shouldnt be afraid to work on the car yourself, but the community is quite big, so its easy to find stuff and help online. Manuel 523i is probably a great choice for you as well!
