I love how “Grant Horvat Teaches” often turns into “Grant Horvat Learns”. The fact he is humble enough to learn from those around him says a lot!
As soon as I heard that Viktor Hovland was going through swing changes, I realized there is really no golfer alive that has perfected the game. Being humble and confident enough to change is a good trait to have.
i agree Grant is always willing to learn, but this is just a gimmick with Ben...Grant's not changing a thing
@@Johndavidson4only reason viktor is changing his swing is probably a similar reason to tiger, his back cant keep up with the amount of torque his body presents
You guys are great together. Can't wait to see more content with Ben
I paused the video at the top of Grant’s swing to help him out :)
Pausing may not be the fix for everyone. But I started doing it a few months ago. It started as freeze drills. I am FLUSHING IT! I don’t do it while I play but I may start.
No way it would for me. I am tall and struggle with sliding hips and over the top swing path. I think I would probably hit it 100 yards right. If I even could make contact with the ball.
Started doing it for just a week and broke 90 finally. Normally a mid 90s player. Not for everyone but felt so good to pure irons consistently for once.
@@danmyers9372 remember that swing “fixes” are different for everyone. Like medication.
Same here@@danmyers9372
I’m 140 years old and I invented Ben Hogan and hot dogs at the turn. I got my first fitting 10 years ago after breaking the Entwood longnose and niblick that I’ve used for over a century. I have been struggling to adapt my swing to my new metal clubs ever since. But thanks to Grant Horvat Teaches, the popular motion-picture streaming series on RUclips, my proficiency in the striking of the golf ball hath improved most substantially. The squadron with whom I partake in the game of golfing every Sunday plays for a gentlemanly wager, and it would seem that post Grant’s lesson, luck's been vibing with me, and I've started catching some dubs at the links and my crew is shook.
😂😂😂
What the hell are you talking about
man I miss drugs

The same issues that Ben mentioned about being a big draw player and getting stuck is what I suffer from when I get way too fast with my swing, I do a slight pause which brings everything back to square but not like Ben! Great video guys!
I've gotta thank Ben for the inspiration. I've really been struggling to compress my irons lately. I tried the pause in practice today, and the very first 7 iron was the best strike I've felt in a long time. I think I'm sold. Can't wait for the weather to warm up here in the northeast so I can try it out on the course.
Been watching Ben for a while glad he getting the attention now!!!!!
I had no idea that this helps you come over the top. I've always had a slightly inside pattern but I strike the ball REALLY well when I do the pause drill. This is so interesting. Thank you.
Love the pause and Grant is awesome...great video. Looking forward to more videos with you guys playing together 😀👍
Great duo. Keep them coming.
Nice! 🔥 I use the pause when I start getting quick up top. It definitely works
I watched the video you posted recently with Ben and started trying the pause. I tend to be flatter and can get too fast in my takeaway which always make me pull through the swing. Pausing has helped me slow down which has produced more consistent strikes and straighter since the pause allows my body to sync better. I may not be doing an actually pause like Ben but it feels that way which helps with my swing. Keep up the great work on this channel and your other channel, Grant. I look forward each week to watching and enjoying your videos. A SC fan.
Love these videos Grant, helping my swing a lot. :)
Thanks Ben and Grant for playing golf on RUclips so golfers like me can benefit from not only watching great golf, but learning while remembering to play to have fun, unfortunately forgot to put into practice the pause in my swing which I need to do because of lack of flexibility and a slow back swing allows my body to take its time and pausing to transition into the downswing, definitely need more practice
I was so over the top, and this actually helped me to shallow out a bit, distance control is also way better
Been watching Ben for a while now around when he started because of that pause and it’s good to see how big he’s gotten
Man I love how much everyone seems to love his move. I have a similar pause and have gotten nothing but crap for it for YEARS. Maybe this'll get people off my back lol.
Doubt you hit it like Ben though, so continue crap coming..........
I have to say, after seeing Ben, I've tried the pause to stop me from getting to fast. Now I play with it and I strike the ball alot more consistently. Thanks Ben
Been doing this for the last couple of weeks. I have not lost any distance and my ball striking has been more solid and consistent. I think I will stick with this for a bit.
When I feel out of sequence I've been doing pause drills on the range, and it really does help get everything sequenced/timed up
I honestly hit the ball so much better on the range when doing the pause drill. Maybe I should bring it to the course..
Such a great swing and sound off the club.
This is wild! I started pausing just last week and my ball-striking instantly improved. I haven’t captured my swing with the pause, so it’s probably just a hesitation 😂🤣. But I love the feel and will continue to work on it. I hope in three months I won’t have to think about it. Thanks, Grant!!! 👊👊
@@richardbicker640 Haha. So true. The Golf Gods are sadistic SoB’s. They give you that good shot, or good feel, or good round to give you HOPE, so you will eagerly come back and play … so they can torture you again!

Thanks Grant! Thank you Ben! I will give this a try. My miss is a pull or hook. I never slice.
You guys are my two favorite golfers to watch. I’d love to see how you’d score in a four man scramble with Luke Kwon and Fat Perez!
Yall have a good rapport, good vibes
Great video, Tiger has a video back in his younger days, Butch Harmon he’s showing how Tiger get speed and power. Thanks
I am a chronic slicer, coming way over the top and also firing my hips too early. I can't break the habit, do you recommend this pause swing to help correct that? I figure the pause would give me time to sync my arms up with my lower body but now I'm not sure since Ben said he was too inside-out with his swing before trying the pause
This is good advice for a very specific issue...
The pause has helped me hit the ball off the tee somehow. I have been using it for the last 6 months and it works
Fred Couples is the original creator of the pause golf swing. I still do it to this day.
A couple of future videos: 1. How to practice your putting to make real improvements. 2. How to prepare yourself for a good round of golf (when should you get to the course, how many balls to hit on the range, how to practice your putting).
Getting a golf lesson from Jason Bateman is crazy
When I stop at the top, i lay it off a hair, and then fire and I am getting a nice draw with this. I also have super fast hips so this lets me time things better.
I have only used the pause as a drill on the range and it’s the best I ever strike the ball. Maybe I should bring it onto the course.
Could you do a bunker video, please? I'm a high handicapper and no joke I think I add on about 4 shots every round in the bunkers.
Bro your thumbnail had me rollin 🤣
i didn’t try the pause but i tried slowing my transition down 2 weeks ago and i couldn’t really believe the difference it made. this game is so mental! 😂
What type of Taylormade hat do you wear?
Love it!!!
Keep it up G !
Bruh…what is that intro instrumental??? 🔥 I’m gonna need that.
I mean…can we get some tips on swing timing and weight transfer and wrist angles? How can I get some shaft lean at impact?
Imma try da pause now😂
@granthorvat no need to try new swing your’s is so pure!🥰
My story has been the same as Ben's, I struggled with tempo and getting to quick, ans pausing dramatically changed my swing for the best. I'm a far better ball striker now. But I do have a hitch now, where I have trouble pulling the trigger (starting my swing) and its really annoying.
You should do a video of how you decide which wedges to use from like 100 in
Grant, I need a lesson from you and or your dad!!
🤣
Grant: Did I pause?!?
Grant: Did I pause?!?
Grant: Did I pause?!?
Good stuff man!
They were called freezers and still are. Pause is another name just recently created by Ben. Nothing new, but they’re a great drill for problems going left.
I got rid of my pause that I have always played because I was told it ruined my tempo and swing has gone downhill, I’m going back to the pause gang, Thanks
For me I do the slow backswing, I find I load a lot better and don't get unbalanced.
Grant, Maybe you should add The Pause to your practice sessions, that is if you practice, because your finish when pausing looks closer to tour pro level.
Just seeing this video now. F%&K yes.
I’m curious if anyone knows Grants height and if he has extensions in his clubs? I’m just over 6’2 and play regular clubs. Wondering if it would make a huge difference to get fitted with extensions.
I’m a break 90 golfer.
Thanks!
I think both Grant and Ben are around 6' 4.
Ben is a fantastic golfer…..I’m 55 and I am trying the pause during practice sessions…he looks way better doing it…….
I look like I had a stroke when I do it..
The Tiger drill :)
Butch Harmon, but yes
It really IS hard to actually pause. I use it as a drill and as I work into my swing change now, but I really have a hard time with it
I tried the pause and I striped it but I don’t know if I can do it with driver or full wedges on a course
Been doing this for the last few range sessions and really helps with separation but I wouldn’t take it to the course.
something new to work on thanks
Big fan of the pause. If he had a better start. #Fairways & Greens
whats your music Grant
The pause helps me stopping coming over the top
Interesting….i will defiantly try the ‘pause’.
Who/what are you defying? Convention?
Grant you’re crazy to change your swing
It’s hilarious how it’s instinct for Grant to not pause.
It's interesting if you slow it down - the club never stops moving at the top, never actually pauses and begins to fall slightly behind the plane.
Sick
I thought Oh Man, I hope this doesn't make Grant slide off a cliff!
The Pause!
Oh No😂😂😂😂
I don’t think the pause will hurt someone coming over the top if it’s helping them sequence everything properly.
Next 2-man scramble tournament winners. To pause or not to pause that is the question.
Don't do it Grant...if you add something to an already good swing that doesn't need to be added there's a good chance that you could screw up your good swing and turn it into something really difficult to correct. I heard Dechambeau say you are the best of all the RUclips golfers that he's played with. Why risk it? Leave your swing alone!!!
And Alex Smalley, who has the best good-looking -paused swing . Smalley tempo seems like he is not stoping /pausing but slow at the top. Cam Young is more like yours.
Grant, your swing is the envy of PGA pro's. Please don't change it.
Cool
If I play with somebody that swings it differently, I watch where the ball is going. I don't watch them. It can mess with your head.
5:46 what was that
grant I have a proposal: you teach me how to hit better bunker shots I'll teach you how to make a song
Why not start your golf swing at the top just set like baseball players do and when your ready release.
If your being serious it’s to make sure that you lined up and to make sure your hands are in the correct position
No no no no no no!!! Don't be messen with that beautiful swing Grant, you don't wanna ruin it doing silly things like this! Seriously stay away from this gimmicky thing that may be ok for a rare few ppl but be very careful opening up this door, leave it alone, you could lose your swing forever messen with gimmicks like this! forewarned
Ben-o-pause 😮
I went out and tried it, you know when you pause you tend to keep your head down, so every ball I hit I hit it pure! so now the test is out on the golf course to see if I can do it!
Ben Kruper…..the next Garret Clarke on You tube. Watch this space.
Big Paws
Great video, but unfortunately need to pause it for a bathroom break.
So silky smooth 💰
I know it works for Ben but quite honestly I don’t know most people could sequence everything with this hiccup in the middle of their swing. It certainly never worked for Charles Barkley although his pause was at a bit more of an inopportune point of the swing.
Wishlist: 1. DOD 👑2. DOD👑3. DOD👑
Guess how many times they said pause in this vid lol
I love the channel but how to start the downswing is kind of crucial. Sorry to be salty but I am struggling with that big time.
Every player has different tendencies, so it's important to know that yours are. For someone who fires the hips a lot, trying to lead with the lower body may cause them to get ahead. So it's about knowing what you need to feel in order to provide better sequencing.
Tiger did it all the time but it was a drills tho
Grant is gonna have to change the spelling of his hat to Pause soon..😅
You’re pausing, Grant. But you’re not exploding on the down swing. If you turn your hips and explode on the down swing, you will compress the ball. That’s what Ben does. Someone taught me this a long time ago.
Ben has a tiny bounce in his pause. Like a rhythm.
Steve’s (Aka Grants) pause looks like menopause 😅
if you are a taller player with longer arms starting you hips first will get your arms trapped behind you causing you to flip at the ball. You arms need to start the downswing and get infront on your hips inorder to help stop your flip at the ball.
