I’m grateful for this Chanel it’s better than nothing and therapy is legit over-rated in most clinical settings. Most therapists I’ve had are awful and psychiatrists are even more callous.
Stress definitely has real consequences mentally and physically. My anxiety has become more pronounced in the past year and I developed migraines. I can definitely see stress leading to serious medical disorders, even heart attacks like mentioned in the video. So grateful to you, Kati, for all you do!

Jess Out Loud Thank you to the two therapists who just look at me talking and do nothing. Northern Michigan is full of hard core anxiety with no real specialists.
There is probably significantly more money in medication lol. The medication doesn’t work? No problem, let’s sell you another one. Sorry if I sound sarcastic. Some medications do a wonderful job, I am sure. But the lobbying power of pharmaceutical companies is well-documented, and probably has a devastating effect on our health systems overall.
I HAVE NO IDEA!!! I had no knowledge of it until Laura told me about it!! It wasn't even taught in school I am definitely going to look into it more, and see if I can help raise awareness for it!! xoxo
There is being a push to get it covered by insurance...at least here in the U.S. I'll try to find the link my Therapist gave me. Some of the big named trauma Psychologists are pushing for the coverage.
I’m here because i suffer from OCD and anxiety. Just recently I’ve been having it bad. What really brings me here is because I found out that my mom (who has depression and OCD) was struggling really hard and she made a decision. She is going across the country for a month to get better. That just gives me more anxiety. I don’t want her to leave. I love her very much. But every night I’m up screaming and crying and I just can’t get control of myself. I need this video so much right now. Thank you very much. ❤️
As a life coach and Healer I love the conversation about long-term with stress can do and I love the aspect of the brain versus the mind. I thought her description of how they were separate but how they work together..was really key.
@@anthonymicele8897 Neurofeedback can be hard to understand at first because its mindblowing, but I really liked her explanation about nerve endings. I really helped me see it to another level (excuse the English)

Kati and Laura, thank you SO much for this video. I was going through a particularly stressful night, and my body finally had enough and started sending me all sorts of signals that I was stressing out too much. As I laid anxious in my bed, you guys helped me so much, and I was able to purge so many negative emotions during this video. Remembering that we’re animals at our core, that anxiety is normal, and that our five senses are not tied to our prefrontal cortex were all solid things that helped put a damper on my stress and anxiety. Thank you again!!
The massage comment really hit home. I was getting a deep tissue massage for a back injury and this was NOT a relaxation massage. I was only half joking when I asked for a horse bit to bite on. Instructions also included, don't drive yourself home, and drink extra water to flush out all the lactic acid built up. God I miss that lady. Anyway, she hit a spot on my neck that cause such an extreme upwelling of emotion that it was distressing. I'd never felt that before. It wasn't even painful, just an intense grief and need to sob. As a hardcore skeptic, I never believed that emotions were anywhere except in the brain, and this really threw me for a loop. I didn't explore it much, because I was there for my injury and not therapy, but I've always kind of wondered where that might have gone.
This is so important! I have anxiety and I immediately wanted to visit this place as soon as you starting interviewing the owner. She seems like such a great person who knows exactly how anxiety, stress, etc. can affect our brains and bodies. My favorite part was when she said that when a patient tells her, "There's something wrong with me." She tells them it is actually what is right with you! I'm going to use that when I'm feeling very anxious and stressed, and see if it makes a difference. I agree that we can't live without stress, but it is so hard to deal with when you have an overwhelming amount of stress. Thank you for this, Kati!! 🤟💜
Kati it's just crazy how your videos always come when I need them! It's almost scary, I was just thinking it would be amazing to have some advice for anxiety! Thank you so so much!!
Katie can you please make a video on how to cope with being unsuccessful at finding employment after finishing university/college 😢 feel so stressed out and feel like a failure
I was able to afford this type of Neuro-feedback a year ago. It was the best I felt regarding PTSD symptoms, depression and especially my anxiety. I called it my "Stillness." I'm even getting a tattoo saying, "Be Still." I was on my monthly tune-ups. Sadly, she stopped doing it. I've been trying to get my Therapist to buy the equipment and provide it. Neuro-feedback is the best. I recommend it if you can afford it or your insurance will fund it (usually when a Therapist provides it). Thanks for the educating video :)
Thank you SO much for sharing your experience! I was considering it myself to see how it helps and so I can show people what it looks like / feels like etc. xoxo
Kati...you should. My Therapist went too. You don't feel anything and you don't have to think about doing anything. It's not like biofeedback and not uncomfortable like TMS. It helped so much more than 2 mos of TMS did for me.
Another great video and topic because so many don’t realize the affects of stress on our body and mentality. Love what you do and always find inspiration for my channel here!
@@mylfygamer wow, I left that comment 4 years ago. I actually just finished 2 years worth of EMDR. The anxiety isn’t gone completely but I feel a lot better
23:03 I find it interesting when she says this, I remember when I was at a very anxious point in my life, I had recently removed the carpet from my room & ended up walking barefoot on the cold floor. I remember feeling the cold floor on my feet was oddly satisfying, it made me feel more real in a way.
I started following the Forwago workout sessions day after day and it hasn't just changed my body, but positively impacted my mental health and made me a new me..
Fascinating! The massages are very interesting. I must say since moving to one of Australia's most beautiful country towns at the foot of the Grampians mountains has meant waaaaay less stress. No traffic, no crowds, no public transport, LOADS of birds, emu chasing (how dare they eat the horse food!) and gardens for days. Even if it's once every few months, get thee to the countryside or the coast. Bliss! xoxoxoxox
This was really helpful as I’m about to go to a residential treatment center across the country and I know they do neural feedback. I read about it and it intimidated me and made me feel unsettled, but after actually seeing how it works makes me way less anxious about it, so thank you!! Love all the great work you do, Kati!!!
I’m an engineering student and have found myself wandering into RUclips and binging on videos unrelated to goals or past a reasonable amount of time. After watching this video, I can VISUALIZE why I do this, even when my workload is not so heavy. The novelty and threat to ego is something I will look out for, since most of my homework, if not ALL of it, should compose of it. I will no longer try to reason my way out of stress through activity in the frontal cortex. My five senses require mindful attention, and I will try to incorporate my awareness of them by writing some of it down...

Thanks Kati for doing this video. Anxiety and PTSD have always been a problem in my life. I would love to find a more holistic way to manage it. So, anyway, thanks for the video on neurofeedback.
This might be my favorite video you've ever done. It was so insightful and gave me at least one new tool to get out of my head and back into peaceful, mindful living. More than anything though, it gave me much needed hope to realize my dream; I've long wanted to create a center like this for people struggling with depression or anxiety and folks who want to reconnect with their inner peace or connecting with the Divine, and now I see that it is totally possible to create a space like that. Thank you for giving me hope and purpose in pursuing that future! That will be my greatest weapon against depression and towards making the world a better place through following my passions and dream.

Im going to the Grand Canyon and I’m actually in the car right now. Im so stressed and anxious. But ur videos help me the most with calming down! 🥳❤️❤️
I’m an introvert and have social anxiety and stress but I don’t know how to stop the stress. When I actually get into public it’s not as bad but my brain makes it seem like it will be bad Edit: thank you guys for all the advice!! ❤️❤️ (also I’m 13 if you were wondering)
Miriampergerson Hey, me too. I’ve had it since I was 13 (I’m almost 23 so about 10 years). Self talk helps a lot. I talk to myself all the time in my head to calm myself down around people. Also, try not to avoid because it will continue the cycle. Believe in yourself. You can do this. You may never be “normal” as in, never have anxiety around people again, but you can definitely live a fulfilling life. Don’t be afraid to get some therapy to help figure out what’s triggering the social anxiety. :)
You feel anxious in any crowded place or only when you are "participating"? I actually started feeling less anxious once I started interacting more. My brain was telling me the World would explode if I did,but after I've tried... it was pretty chill
That’s actually super typical with anxiety! (source: my therapist with a PhD). Your brain blows it out of proportion a lot, and it often does that when they’re irrational fears. But you actually do it, and suddenly it’s not as bad as you thought it would be. Remember that when the anxiety comes back, and used that as a piece of your shield.
Same i havn't been to school for a year because of this stupid anxiety and panic attacks and tomorow its my first day going again and im shitting my pants.
Thank you Katie. Your so helpful helping me with my trauma stress & anger in my frustration against Oregon mental health department murders & criminals in my wife abduction & kidnapping 24/7 -365 A Day.
Just about 1 year ago I suffered from anxiety and now I am completely fine so for everyone who is going throw anxiety I just want to say everything is going to be ok
I loved this video. I needed to hear exactly what anxiety is and how it affects our brain. Having things fully and thoroughly explained is such a stress reliever for me. Thank you very much!
That test for your brain was advised to me years ago but without insurance it's SOOO expensive... Well got insurance now so will be getting it soon. Thanks for all your videos
I use sertraline and hemp oil. The hemp oil as changed my life, would highly recommend it, as i used to bee so anxious that i couldn't leave the house. Love the alternatives you've told us, thanks. Have a great day everyone
I had no idea the brain could make such neat fractal imagery through neurofeedback! Art of different kinds (including painting my nails & doing makeup as those can be artforms in many ways), videogames, music, knitting & petting of animals are some of my favorite ways to calm stress. I also enjoy listening to your videos & those of Lofty Pursuits as you & Greg have voices that are very soothing to listen to & it's always fascinating information. I really don't have any true anxiety, but definitely stress with having Adenomyosis. Thankfully will be having a hysterectomy in May so after the 6ish week recovery, a good chunk of my stress will be gone.
In the 70's and 80's I worked on what was called Bio Feedback, the brain learns from the body, so the body also can help rewire the brain! Todays advancements in Neurofeedback are nothing short of a miracle.
I enjoyed this so much. Kati, thank you for what you do. I have so enjoyed watching your talks. I have been going to a wonderful counselor for two years; I never thought I would see a counselor for this long, but it has helped me tremendously. I'm highly sensitive; I'm an empath; I've been in a season of setting boundaries, and family and friend relationships are dropping like flies. I feel alone sometimes and then I realize how much better I feel without those people. And I'm becoming healthy, and I know I'll have better quality friends some day. Friends who have boundaries, and respect boundaries. It's an awesome goal to have! So I'll take being lonely, as I heal. Lonely, and for the most part, without drama. Yay! I do have some very dear friends, but we don't have things in common that facilitate going and doing things. But that's okay. "Activity/hang out" friends are on the horizon. Anyway, I loved this episode, and wanted you to know that I appreciate your insight, your cheerful and encouraging demeanor, and I think most of all I appreciate that you convey that there is most certainly hope. Two years ago I felt hopeless on a dire level. But if a person is willing to put the work in, and keep on keeping on, hope is not an option, it's a given. Tearfully yours, Samantha (Tears of joy)
Wow. This video made me feel very seen. Laura is an amazing person, what she has created is truly magnificent. I would love to visit someday. I’m definitely going to research whether a place like that exists where I live. Thank you for the incredibly insightful and helpful video, Kati! ❤️

Hey Kati, I loveee your series so far! I even told a couple of friends about it, so they can watch it and understand my situation more. Which really helped out! I would love you to cover a topic within this series though, which is getting burned out because of chronical illness or other disabilities. Which isn't something you can't take a break from. For me personally that is a big subject that I would love to get some help with.
When I got made redundant last year, it struck me with severe anxiety, still got it today but not as bad. It causes shooting pains and aching in my left arm, shoulder and hand. The doctor said my heart is fine and diagnosed with anxiety. I also get a headache, occasional lack of sleep, sore/tight throat, pain in random pressure points around my body. Then I became more aware of my body and started to fear for my own health by thinking I am dying from random things. It's a vicious cycle but my new job has weekly massarges which can help, I also joined a softball team.
I want you, yea you the person that's reading this, look in the mirror, and talk to yourself for as long as you need, you might cry, but trust me it's calming you will feel better.
This is the most informative & valuable video I've ever seen...Ever. It makes sense to me & I wish every therapist would share this information during their first session with a client. Wow.

I’m an introvert and have social anxiety and stress but I don’t know how to stop the stress. When I actually get into public it’s not as bad but my brain makes it seem like it will be bad
Edit: thank you guys for all the advice!!
Cat Vergueiro yeah that’s what I’m saying. I’m anxious to go anywhere but once I do I’m not as anxious anymore.
Your so helpful helping me with my trauma
stress & anger in my frustration against Oregon mental health department murders & criminals in my wife abduction & kidnapping 24/7 -365 A Day.
Love the rooms, they need more of these
Just about 1 year ago I suffered from anxiety and now I am completely fine so for everyone who is going throw anxiety I just want to say everything is going to be ok
SUFFOCATED???!?!!?
never clicked on a video so fast. this series is so cool
YAY!! xoxo
I use a alpha Stim Machine and do neurofeedback I love them both
I use sertraline and hemp oil. The hemp oil as changed my life, would highly recommend it, as i used to bee so anxious that i couldn't leave the house. Love the alternatives you've told us, thanks. Have a great day everyone
Wow, thanks to the sponsor and to you Kati for doing this.
Really needed this, thank you Katie 💙
You are so welcome :) I hope it was helpful! xoxo
Hey Kati hope you had an amazing weekend thank you for the amazing videos
Neuroplasticity is clearly underestimated, however I'm glad the information is spreading~
Maybe I'll try some meditation too. Cool Video
In the 70's and 80's I worked on what was called Bio Feedback, the brain learns from the body, so the body also can help rewire the brain! Todays advancements in Neurofeedback are nothing short of a miracle.
😍👍👍
love this! Thank you Kati! :)
Thank you for everything you're doing! It's been so helpful learning about these topics❤️
Wow! This is amazing! Thank you, Kati!
Thank you for all u do😀
I enjoyed this so much.
Tearfully yours,
Samantha
(Tears of joy)
SOOOOOOO informative and important! Thank you!
Wow. This video made me feel very seen. Laura is an amazing person, what she has created is truly magnificent. I would love to visit someday. I’m definitely going to research whether a place like that exists where I live. Thank you for the incredibly insightful and helpful video, Kati! ❤️
I’ve been feeling stressed and anxious the whole day but I’m not going to let that control me 😩
Thank you so much Kati. I have been dealing with anxiety for a long time. Hopefully it will get better.
This was brilliant, thanks x
Excellent quality content
Reminds me of a lyric from the song *Beach Life-in-Death* by Car Seat Headrest:
_It should be called anti-depression_
_As a friend of mine suggested_
_Because it's not the sadness that hurts you_
_It's the brain's reaction against it_
AWESOME video
Thank you x
Hey Kati, I loveee your series so far! I even told a couple of friends about it, so they can watch it and understand my situation more. Which really helped out!
I would love you to cover a topic within this series though, which is getting burned out because of chronical illness or other disabilities. Which isn't something you can't take a break from. For me personally that is a big subject that I would love to get some help with.
I really needed this right now
This vid was super fun and interesting thank you!!💕💕
Great tips!
YES!!!! Queen Kati does it again!!! 👑 👸 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🐶
woot woot!! xoxo
Anxiety attacks are a pain it feels like heart attack and the thing that sucks about anxiety its all in your head
Wow, what a beautiful place she has! I would love to go to a place like that. The art room & that beach room would definitely be my go to rooms.
This is one of my favorite videos I have watched from you
When I got made redundant last year, it struck me with severe anxiety, still got it today but not as bad.
