In this exciting Gourmet On The Road episode, Food Lovers’ Editor, Kripal Amanna takes off on a trip across Namma Bengaluru exploring the city’s most popular dosa destinations!
The second and final part to this dosa trail begins at Shri Sagar - CTR, an establishment with legions of loyal fans. Food Lovers’ Editor, Kripal Amanna tastes a Benne Masala Dose and the Set Dosa here. He then relishes a unique dill flavoured dosa at a streetside dosa haunt in the bylanes of Basavanagudi. He then tastes a smashing Podi Dosa at Umesh Dosa Point, and a Bath Masala and Khaali Dosa at Chikkanna Tiffin Room located in the narrow bylanes of Cubbonpet.
He finally rounds off this dosa trail in the evening with the famous Pav Bhaji Dosa at Shree Balaji 99 Variety Dosa.

Smeared with a homemade podi, made of gram flour, spices, and jaggery. love this dosa it’s got the sweet, spice and the crunch! Perfect balance of flavours. Certainly a discovery for me.

Order this with the extra ghee. the dosa just by itself is absolutely dry. You need to mix the chutney, aloo gadde palya and the tuppa to enjoy this dosa melt in your mouth.

Before I came to Karnataka, I didn't even know how heavenly tasty dosas can be. After 3+ years of stay, going back to Pune. Thank you, Bengaluru, and all the Kannadigas who I ever had an opportunity to interact with. Yes, I tasted the dosa at CTR, MTR, Vidyarthi Bhavan, Maiyas, Dwarka, Mylari Dosa at Mysore, Thatte idlis at Bidadi, a meal at MTR, Annapoorni, Hallimane, a north Karnataka Jolada Rotti meal at Nalapaka, A2B filter coffee, lifetime food memory to cherish. Karnataka has a beautiful and rich culture. All I can say is I am grateful. Blessed to be born in India, a country with such a huge diversity. And that diversity can't be appreciated in its true sense unless one visits the places. I was blessed to get that opportunity and am proud that I didn't waste it.

It is nice to know that u have visited so many reputed and famous hotels and tasted delicious dosas,idles and meals as well. On top of it u vividly remember all hotels that u visited and the dishes u ate. Bangalore is a lovely place where u will get variety of foods of most of the states. I must say the food in south is very healthy..peanut coconut lentil etc chutney idli dosa..very less oil n no cheese butter etc.

I am a Bangalore born 36 yr old. And believe me I have eaten 10s of times in all the places u mentioned. But 2 places u haven't done: 1. SLV banashankari.. near bda complex. It has a great masale dose. Also THE BEST idli in Bangalore, better than Brahmin cafe, Veena and all... 2. Dwarka khaali dose

I am a Tamilan but I have never eaten a dosa like this in my life. Nowhere else in the world can you make a dosa like this. It is the pride of Bangalore. I am addicted to this dosa.Bangalore is a great example of good food if the people of Bangalorians are very lucky

99 varieties dose was a craze even when I was in middle school around 2006-7, so it’s not a new trend per se. And I think CTR is the only restaurant in which I have sat at every table they have 😂😂

The best part about these dose establishments in Bengaluru is that they stick to the traditional dose with slight modification may be like the bhaat khali dose unlike what you see in rest of India with weird combinations like cheese dosa, noodles dosa, manchurian dosa, and what not.

I've traveled around entire India and when I was in South India I had Dosa almost every single morning, I had at least 90times but to be honest i can't really distinguish the difference of those, every Dosas were just good, never had an amazing Dosa

Our residence was hardly around 100 mts from CTR & used to be our adda after playing at MCG in 1980's, never had dosa since my mom was great cook & money was also main criteria.........after watching the video what fate plays in one's life we moved far away, mom no more & money not a matter.....anyways love CTR, brings back the memories.......enjoy great dosa's & Mr. Kripal is great............
