My father was MTR's regular customer since its inception ( 1924) and he was great admirer of Mr. Yagnappa. According to him MTR preparations are last word in perfection. I visit MTR at least half dozen times a year and whenever my son comes to Bangalore from USA his first agenda will be to visit this hotel. Great traditions transcends from generations to generations.
Not sure if you’ve ever been to B’lore.. If not, just note that it may take two hours of waiting to get into this restaurant even during week days.. So things should be good - with or without the owner having lunch with a vlogger !

What a tradition that this restaurant has held on to since it's inception. I still remember walking into MTR through it's kitchen in the yesteryears and even in the recent past, I had been to MTR, the food quality has been sustained. That's such a stupendous achievement.

Hardly any other restaurant has maintained the quality and taste of the dishes so long . Been eating here for 35 years now , Still every signature dish tastes the same ! I enjoy the waiting too ,most people get annoyed by that . All good things come to those who wait . Although , it will take few trips to understand why MTR is so special and truly appreciate what they do, Lot of people get bit underwhelmed first time i have taken them ,but slowly they get hooked on the food .

I still shelf my own kitchen with only MTR brand spiced mixtures and I try to pass on the goodness of my childhood nalapaka taste with my kids as far as from Jaipur too... Nostalgia oozing. Gone are the glory days, it's a bit of corporate frenzy now. Used to visit with father. MTR Indiranagar is a below mediocre place. I think the new heirs of this legendary place should think 100 times before branching out. They are not able to sustain the taste or hygiene. But money, alas.. Nostalgia oozing. Gone are the glory days, it's a bit of corporate frenzy now. Used to visit with father. MTR Indiranagar is a below mediocre place. I think the new heirs of this legendary place should think 100 times before branching out. They are not able to sustain the taste or hygiene. But money, alas.. It weighs more than quality and uniqueness.
