Bautista is probably the best wrestler-to-actor crossover.
He is going for the real art of the craft. It is really awesome to see him getting better and better roles. He is already in two of my favorite films of all time!
In terms of success, he's been doing well trailing after Dwayne Johnson. In terms of acting I like him better than Johnson. Note: He's running out of real-state for tattoos. 😅
@@corujariousa He is an actor, Johnson definitely isn’t.
@@naydra199 I believe both are working on it and trying to be better at it. Again, I agree Bautista seems to be doing a better job as an actor.
@@corujariousa The thing about The Rock is that he oversaturated himself.
I love how humble and grateful Bautista is and how he constantly wants to learn and grow.
True mentality of a champion
Yeah, in the interviews I've seen he has always seemed humble yet eager to learn and grow as a person as well as an actor and that maybe he doesn't want to be typecast into "Dave Bautista: fighter, thug, muscle jock, whatever". IMO, that will make him a better actor as he grows AS an actor (and a person). I see a good future for him as an actor, personally.
Stellan is such a great listener, he seems really invested and engaged in Dave’s responses and not just waiting for his turn to speak. It’s very admirable.
Yes. I did the same comment.
From Drax to Bladerunner to Dune, yeah. He's a bon-a-fide actor.
Both of those he did with Denis. They work well together
He was great in Army of the Dead.
Unlike Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel, two very muscular men, Dave has actually shown that, apart from his very impressive physique, he was also talent and depth, and he already has proved to all of us that he has an acting range. I am very happy for him, and Stellan.. He is ALWAYS very good!
@@JohnSpawn1
Let me correct you, dear sir! Vin Diesel did NOT star in Saving Private Ryan! He had a minor role. He was the first to die, if memory serves. Tom Hanks starred in Saving Private Ryan. Tom Sizemore, too! But Vin Diesel was handpicked by Steven Spielberg himself, for that role, not that this matters. And ''some acclaim', if you allow me,' is a bit vague. Many Marvel films receive such. And the greatest majority of them are mediocre, at best. Indifferent and overrated. Vin had every opportunity to show his talent.. in many, MANY films, and he failed to do so, in every single one of them!
Suffice to say, I didn't know he was a wrestler when I watched Blade Runner 2049, I thought he must be a character actor! (I only saw Guardians Of The Galaxy later.)
God I love these actors. Stellan is so thoughtful and Batista is so humble. CANNOT WAIT FOR PART 2 and more HARKKONENS!!!!
Stellan Skarsgård works the camera like no one else, he can hold his head in such a way that says a half page of dialogue. He quietly exudes the true evil of The Baron Harkonnen role, slow moving menacing like a Great White Shark.
Dave mentions BladeRunner2049. It was actually his character and his line that stuck with me and made me watch it a second time. “...because you’ve never seen a miracle” was the line and it was very emotional to me. Haunting. Made me watch the movie again and it was much better with each viewing and underrated, sadly.
Stellan was fucking amazing in the small time he is on screen. Dave did great work too. Such a good movie.
Hopefully we'll get to see more of the Baron in Part 2.
I love Dave, and the fact that that he is living his dream. being cast in bigger and better roles, coming from A wrestling star. you can tell he wants it so bad and I think he deserves it.
Stellan is such a great Actor. Please see "CHERNOBYL" everyone.
Oh man, when Dave talks he seems so true and honest in what he's saying. It doesn't sound like "marketing the movie" interview talk at all. It's full of his feelings, his interpretations of his experiences on the movie and useful information. It seems also Stellan likes to hear what Dave has to say.
I like that Stellan is A list actor, one of me most talent actors all there, a star and he is very humble towards his cast member always listening
Great questions that hit the mark & really engaged the actors. 👍🏼
I love Dave B...first saw him in "Chronicles of Riddick" and immediately realized he was a worthy opponent to Vin Diesel, but then his nuanced performance in Blade Runner blew me away. Stellan has a fantastic range...going from Mamma Mia to Baron Harkonnen....these two were perfect villains in Dune...
What a great interview. The Harkonnens - Nephew and Uncle - were such a huge presence, no matter how long or short the screen time. Very Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lector in that regard.
Dave and Stellan are both terrific actors independently, but put them together and they create one of the greatest villain-duos! Profound and menacing performance!
Interviewer's in a dorm room on his hand-me-down HP laptop.
Like he just got outta bed and smoked a joint before starting the interview
Definitely thought the same. It's Entertainment Weekly and this poor guy looks like he rolled out of bed 🤣
Lighting, framing, camera, professional clothing to match actors.
He warms up at least to the interview.
My favorite part is the interviewer, who clearly rolled out of bed with a massive hangover, five minutes before this interview happened, set up the camera in the most unflattering way possible, for what I’m assuming is college credit.
It looks like it is on Zoom.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
this is the funniest comment ive seen so far 😂
True but he did a really good job.
@@alexlazzerly3677 Except for the frequency of "awesome".
Stellan and Dave were fantastic. I was just reviled by them, which is how you know you've nailed a villain.
Luv both of these actors, Bautista is fantastic and humble
Stellan is such a genius
Dave Bautista is just a beautiful human being, and a great up and coming actor. Please Give him more good roles, he is very compelling when Directors utilize what he has inside.
They were both great. I love Dave. Can't wait for part 2
Thanks for this. Very nice and humble people. Wish them all the best and can't wait for part 2 ! :)
great interview
Dave has done an great job with everything he has done after Wrestling of transitioning to an Actor 💜💯 KEEP STRIVING Dave and your Awesome Journey ✌🏽✌🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽💜💜💜💜
Stellan is just so experienced, he can afford to diss and joke with anything.
I was really kind of surprised by Dave Bautista's performance as Glossu Rabban given that Rabban in all the previous incarnations were caricatures of themselves and a one-dimensional caricature of evil. He brought a kind of humanity to it even though his character is not humane. Face it, humans can be evil and monstrous and can willingly choose to be so and he brought that but he also seemed to bring a thoughtfulness to it as well, to a degree. Thoughtfully evil? I don't know. LOL I hope he continues to grow as an actor and that he doesn't allow himself to become typecast into superhero, muscled jock, fighter, or thug. I think there might be more to him than those things. I hope he's allowed to express it.
Great interview!
Great interview 👍
Stellan is so warm to Dave!
2 awesome Actors...💪💓😇
More Dune 👏👏🤓🏆
Great movie, great director, great casting and two of my favourite male actors who successfully returned credibility to characters previously denuded by Mr Lynch. Second viewing this week 😁 and thanks for your interview.
Bautista and Skarsgard as villiains Brothers, 2 Harkkonens, there are great.
I love Batista in dune. His was the most memorable character for me in the film.
Neither of these guys are in Dune for long but they both left a lasting impression, masterful acting and casting.
Out of all the cast members, these two have the best thought-out answers
Stellan is listening so intently :o it's scary.
Bautista was amazing as Sapper!
My boy RED
Bautista's hands are fucking massive
How do you do this interview looking like you bunked off school and just got out of bed!? Christ sakes…
Best Rabban, Best vladi ever!
Marvel-ous actors in the Dune universe!!! Drax the Destroyer and Dr. Erik Selvig👍🏽
Yes uncle
The “Harkinins”......
Some real Gentlemen here - thanks for the talk.
I enjoyed Dune throughoutly, only in one case I have to disagree: The atreides music shdve been reminding of ancient Greece, Sparta, Crete or Mycenae, not of the gael. (it had charme though, very eerie) One of Pauls ancestors is named Agamemnon after all, wich is also the name of the great king of Mycenae, the greek leader in the iliad, the epic of the trojan war... And also the bull, the symbol of the atreides, is also the animal of Zeus.
Dave Bautistas character is Glossu Rabban, not Rabban Harkonnen.
The interviewer could have worn a nice shirt at least. Imagine wearing a blue shirt to meet two acting stars.
Missed chance to title it: Meet the Harkonnens :D
Where was Feyd-Rautha?
He wasn’t in the film
He’s not in the movie, but he’s most likely to be in the 2nd one cause they casted Austin Butler (the guy who plays Elvis in the new biopic) to play him
Interviewer: “I dont know… Maybe.. I dont l know”. Jeez man. If you are interviewing them maybe you should know.
A SPOILER WARNING would´ve been nice... Not like I care (Ive read the book). And Im specifically talking about this part: 12:03 Just saying.
Dude he says nothing. Stop with the bullshit criticism.
This part was in all the trailers... The only way you wouldn't know about it is if you had your eyes closed for the past six months.
Can the interviewer at least dress up a bit? Or be in a room that’s not his bedroom?
I think they really achieved this humanity in evil. And thats an important things, as many evil leader where once people so sympathisch that they gained followers and with that power. Indeed I didn’t found both roles totally evil in the movie, more understand able in there effort to regain power. Keep in mind, that many leaders, abdorrt in stories and movies even today, did decisions not so much different.
I feel sorry for Stellan Skarsgård tbh
why sorry???
@@FelipeUebio I don't think I used the right word lol
I meant that I feel bad that he dreads having to put on heavy make up for 8 hours a day, this isn't the first time he said he wants to have as little screen time as possible for part 2
I wish he didn't feel that way
@@karabokhanyile he would definitely be in a second movie more than this one, and he would be paid accordingly lol I feel like he’d be happy to work on a sequel a cause he’s already spoken about how he liked playing the character
@@IsdudeMe I know he likes playing the character but it's a fact that he dreads putting on heavy make up and a fat suit everyday hence there's mote than one video he wishes he has less screen time than he should. I know he'll be in more scenes in part 2 I read the book like he also did lol
@@karabokhanyile true true, hopefully he decide it’d be worth it and says he’s in for more cause he was really brilliant in the film
Bill Skarsgard could have been a great Feyd! But he might be too old for that role now unfortunately.
was this interviewer high or something lol
I hope you guys got paid well for like 10 minutes of screen time.
more than that
Being part of a movie like Dune directed by Denis Villeneuve is worth more than any money paid
@@DG-gx4sg What's that based on? He's made what, 3 movies?
@@putinscat1208 Incendies, Prisoners, Enemy, Sicario, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049, and now a potential Dune trilogy
Real professional on the interviewer's part. Guess professionalism isn't something he's aware of.
I agree he looks like shite but at least he asked interesting questions unlike so many interviews
Older, more world wise interviewer would have made this better, I think
Paul is the actual villain. Nothing like being responsible for mass genocide.
He becomes one later on. These guys are the villains of the first book
Meh, no one is truly a villain or hero in this saga. There would have been genocide on either side, whether it would have been the destruction of the Fremen or what happens after Paul becomes the Emperor. And it’s not like the Butlerian jihad didn’t happen in the millennia preceding the first book. The universe of Dune is a rather shitty place where life isn’t really all that precious.
Still they aren’t Villains, house Atreides would done the same if their positions reversed.
What?
@@cutewood83 read the book
@@elanlynn5973 have you? Maybe taking a test to see if you're a sociopath would be a good idea? The're clearly villain
@@cutewood83 ffs, atreides just another politic machine who are simply more civilized compared to Hkns.
In the book Leto wasn’t doing all this just for “bringing peace”, he is no hero or such thing.
Movie adaptation needs a dramatic conflict to appeal to the audience, so Atreides looks “good” and Hkn are “villains”.
Srsly do you still think everything in this world are all divided into right and wrong good and evil? Euh, Grown up.
@@cutewood83 Elan told you damn 😆
Harry Styles for Feyd Rautha 2023
Could the interviewer wear something nicer than his T-shirt he sleeps in? Like EW looks worse than some of the low-subscriber YT channels covering this LOL
WTF?? Who is this hungover 12 year old fake interviewer?? Horror of an interview.
Disappointed by the interviewer. Can you just dress a bit nicely?
Looks like he in his mom's basement too 😂😂 but good interview tho
"But inside, i was feeling like a little girl" -- can't wait for the damn woke people commenting on the fact that Bautista is gender-typecasting hahaha way to go Dave !!!
I’m sorry this needed the character Feyed Rautha SO BAD!!!!!! Disappointing villians!! Dave Batista’s Rabon reminded me more of Drax from the GOTG!! Not familiar with Stellen Scarsgard but he was too chill and laid back as the villian
Not seen the film yet, but I always saw the Baron as laid back, like Kurtz in Apocalypse Now. Certainly not like the shrieking, cackling embarrassment of Lynch’s version...
I wouldn’t call Stellan’s character chill or laid back. He was definitely very still, but I thought it made him look very precise/controlled and very menacing.
@@honorisalive stoic menace would be an appropriate description
I guess subtle characterisation is not your thing. Stick to screaming Marvel villains.
"not familiar with" have you lived under a rock and not watched cinema in the past 30 years
Great interview!
