- Multifaceted Swedish actor #StellanSkarsgård, known for his performances in the 'Pirates' franchise, the MCU films, as well as his frequent collaboration with writer/director #LarsVonTrier, has been nominated for an Emmy for his performance as conflicted Soviet politician Boris Shcherbina in the HBO miniseries #Chernobyl. What other roles has he played over the years?
His performance in Chernobyl might just be his best. It was astounding
yeah I agree, his performance in Chernobyl is amazing
Also Cerdic in King Arthur
Made me a fan
well, now there's his role as Luthen in Andor to compete with that
The scene where he goes ballistic over the telephone… I could watch that over and over again 😂😂
His performance in Andor is so freaking captivating, you’re hanging on every word he says!
He and Tony Gilroy made easily the best Star Wars character ever.
Stellan is a total hunk! Why are all the Skarsgårds so boss!?!
They're well raised and well adjusted, increasingly rare traits in this world
Yes, Stellan was the first actor to play Sweden's version of James Bond.
He always gives a good performance, not matter what kind of movie/ tv series he is in. Actually, all the Skarsgards are pretty good at playing characters that are a bit crazy.
Hey! You forgot my favorite, he starred in a Netflix series called River! It was amazing and he was outstanding, I've rewatched it multiple times because of him.
Loooooove River
Yup River was awesome I watched it twice too. Better each time!
@@alexrussell8039 I heard Netflix is pulling it off in November and the DVD's are only in region 2! :'-(
@@braymax best we get a final binge in then!! 😀
Exactly! "River" was a great show!
I´ve been in love with this man since the end of the 80´s, when I saw him in a TV-interview.
Stellan didn't play a psychotic killer in "The Simple-Minded Murderer" but a very good-hearted and kind young man who is hare-lipped (and therefore has a speech impediment) and gets fed up with seeing an evil rich and powerful man (who is also a Nazi) tormenting everyone around him and ruining the lives of all those the young man loves. Probably the best Swedish film ever made, a masterpiece.
When I first read the name Skarsgård, I was 10 back in 1999 when I saw Stellan in Deep Blue Sea.
Then I forgot for 18 years. Until I heard of someone named Bill Skarsgård playing Pennywise in IT. Skarsgård... wait minute.... there was this actor in deep blue sea named Skarsgård... oh, it's the one who played Bill Turner in pirates of the Caribbean? Oh okay...I knew he looked familiar...yes! I saw him in CINDERELLA too!! But wait....HOLY SHIT, THIS IS BILL SKARSGÅRD'S DAD?!? Wait, there was this guy named Skarsgård in VIKINGS....Holy shit, these two are his sons?! *finds out that Stellan Skarsgård has 8 kids, 4 of his adult sons are all actors* ..... OOOOHHH I SEE 😳 . All the pieces are coming together now. May they take over Hollywood!!! Seriously, this family is so badass🤘😂
I can see Alexander and Bill with the faces he made on these different scenes. Their brother, whom I know first amongst the family was great on "Vikings" too. Forgot his name tho
Gustaf
Just watched “River”, blown away by his acting. So good... He has plenty of charisma for leading man parts...
I love the Skarsgårds!!!
Amazing actor. Love it! It has piqued my interest since 1990 in The Hunt for Red October. He can raise the level of any character, however insignificant he represents. Any work in which I see that he is present, I am sure to at least witness great performances. The more focused on his character, the better the content. Too bad they didn't mention TV show RIVER - 2015...10/10
He also nailed it in Dune as The Baron.
'If he comes knocking on your door in the middle of the night you don't know wether to let him in or call the police'. Hello!! If Stellan come knocking on my door in the middle of the night I'm very certain which one I would do 😍
Yes sir, he is literally everybody in everything.... he's just in so many films!
He is a great actor.
Great voice too
He’s in the same ballpark as Cliff Curtis, a talented actor who too often just takes thankless roles in blockbusters. Both deserve to have far more promenant roles in movies.
And this did not even show or mention "Jim & piraterna Blom". =)
Stellan has had an absolutely formative role in my movie going experience. Good video! Thanks!
So so in love with Alexander Skarsgard specially from his Trueblood days. Love him to death! Absolutely handsome and plus a great actor.
I had no idea he was swedish lol, such a great actor
King Arthur performance for me is the best, that saxon warlord character was incredibly good.
"In order of Disapearance": Another Masterpiece with him.
never black or white, morally grey area. spot on man.. and his perforamnce in Andor is bloody epic - ruclips.net/video/GQMDmb3mOY8/видео.html
I knew the guy from Pirates of the Caribbean but the best is Boris Scherbina. Absolutely phenomenal
Check out *River* British mini-series from 2015. :)

Brilliant actor. A ton of range.
I am in love with him. Err I mean his acting.
I watched the Ox recently and really liked it. Max Von Sydow was in it too and a lady named Ewa Froling who was quite pretty.
*L E G E N D.*
*The best of the best.*
I don’t know how I missed that he played Bootstrap.
No mention of Ronin? Just a one second clip of ‘Gregor’?
Muito bonito Stellan ❤🥰🇧🇷
"Skarsgard."
...okay. Here we go again. Skars-gourd. Pronounce it "gourd".
There you go, not that hard.
Most Americans cannot pronounce " å ".
Then again, most non-english-native Europeans cannot do a simple thing as "th" and make it "ze/se/de" .
Best regards.
- a trilingual German who has no problem when a foreigner mispronounces the indeed very difficult ä/ö/ű
Sure they can. The pronunciation of “å” is pretty much equivalent to the pronunciation of the “a” in “wall”.

Watch this👆
@@annoyingbananana In Brazil the "th" tends to become "f". It was damn hard to learn it properly.
He’s really good in Cinderella 2015 also
Nymphomaniac was just plain terrible, but his work stands for itself.
I see were his children get their good looks from.
His career started in Sweden, and you totally missed his most important role: Carl Hamilton.
great actor
Bootstrap Bill
His scenes were awsome
great, now im gonna have to watch all of that.
I was in toilet😂😂
Same here dude
Wasn't he in the American version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo?
And now he has a new classic character, Luthen Rael in Andor.
Just watch "The democratic Terrorist". A forgotten gem!
time's up old man.
Lo amo
Bootstrap Bill Turner.
Se pronuncia “estelan eskargoard” , no “ estelar eskargard” por que en sueco la å es “oa“ 😊😅
I lovee him soooo much😍🤌🏻
Sou fã.
1:01 "A psychotic killer"?! Have you even seen the movie?😅
Hail Stellan!
YASS skarsgard
Bombi bitt och jag is filmed near my house
