My Mate 9's still as fast&fluid as day one, also I think battery life actually improved with the AI built into EMUI (or maybe it was the updates) either way battery life's better now than when I first got it.
Have been using the Mate 9 since January & truly cannot fault it, it's Ace card is the battery. Not sure if it's worth upgrading to the Pro 10? Peace from London. 👍👍
That slightly lower resolution means far better performance all around, less stress on the chipset, less stress on the battery- those insanely high resolution displays make the little mobile chipsets suffer.
Glad to see an Android manufacturer keeping the IR Blaster. I still think it could have been a key Android feature if ANYBODY had marketed it. Sad to see any manufacturer ditching the headphone jack though....
I've bought a new Mate 10 pro while visiting Kuwait and I must say. I think it is a good buy I still have an S8+ in which I think is great when it comes to the little extras it has. But so far I'm really digging this phone at the moment. The curved screen phone is nice but really frustrating when it come to finding a really good screen protector. The FLAT SCREEN IMO is really good and of course all the tempered glass you can find on the market makes it really easy to protect. The I. R. Blaster also is nice to have again for sure. The headphone jack is missing but common let's be real how often do you use it? I use to use it a lot until I upgraded my car stereo and now Bluetooth it all the time. The 4000mah battery is a beast! I disconnect at 5am and when I get home from a job which is typically around 12 hours later I still have over 60% left and that with moderate to heavy use also. The cameras on the back doing a fantastic job especially at night with little lighting it's really something to awww about. But so far I can't say I'm disappointed thus far. Great Job Huawei.!

There is only 2 variants the regular or pro. Looks like the regular one is keeping with older phone trends like microsd, headphone jack, and 16:9 ratio while the pro version is going with newer phone trends ie: no sdcard or headphone jack, 18:9 ratio, and dual sim. Really up to preference at this point.

I have an important question. I'm an experienced galaxy phone user. I don't like pure Android over TouchWiz because it's not as efficient due to missing features. For example, in using TouchWiz 1. When I'm in the message app, contacts app, or recent calls app I can swipe left or right on an entry to text or call that entry. 2. I can hold down on an entry to toggle multiple select feature with a select all option. The oneplus 5t and pure Android I can't do these things. My question is, does the mate 10 pro have these features?

Sir Meowingtons absolutelly not. I've never had any problems while using my p9 lite with a smartwatch. Tho my gear s3 has been randomly disconnecting itself since the last update of sgear, but I guess that's the app's problem

I liked and was highly considering this phone until the UI part. I just want vanilla Android, or as close to it as possible. Showing only notifications since the last lock seems weird. Is it possible to get much closer to a pure Android experience without rooting?

Phone is great overall but lacks in the UI department. The one thing I dislike the most about the UI is that the "1.0x" button in the camera app does not rotate accordingly when using the camera in landscape mode
Wondering if there will be WiFi calling on this phone...this feature is the only reason why I didn't grab the Mate 9 last year and would be pretty disappointing if this is the case again.
If google put AI chip, it will be next big thing. Anyways that software on my mate 9 is the biggest gripe and ram management is very bad. U11 plus is certainly an good option

Khan Ram management has never been that bad in EmUi, really it sucks in your Mate 9 ?...I have used many Hauwei/Honor phones, they give good battery life and software optimizations with their EmUi implementation, Ram management upto 5-6 apps is enough for me, more than that I don't know who uses, that much apps can be kept in memory for sure

However, I have personally compared the front camera of the Sony XZ Premium (13 mp, f2.0 wide angle) versus Huawei Mate 10 (8 mp, f2.0 not wide angle). In my taste, the front cam of the xz premium is better since it has got better dynamic range, wider angle and more color accurate. However, I have tested both of the front cameras on limited scenarios only (inside malls and cellphone stores). That's why, I am looking forward to a more comprehensive camera review (both front and cam) of sony xperia xz premium versus Huawei Mate 10. As of now, I have not found that kind of review for both phones.
I use to care so much about the headphone jack and I understand but I've gotten use to the idea of the wireless future and useing the dongle it also frees up space in a phone for other features
Let me know if the phone has 3 most important features for me please,; 1) Quick contact short cut like Galaxy S5 not like the S9 you have to go widgets to create short cut 2) Photo face tag like Galaxy S5; tag contact to photo where you touch the photo you can text, call and email the contact 2) Contact relationship interface; John and Mary are spouses, after talked to John all you have to do is go down to relationship tap on Mary it will take you straight to Mary's contact info. If this has all three features I don't mind pay $800 for it

Huawei is just testing the waters, they want to see which one sells the most. One with and without headphone jack.
It doesn't seem like a good test if the US market only gets the Pro version though.
