I think Huawei has it all, EXCEPT carrier support and a good track record where updates are concerned. Updates might change with project Treble (we'll see, Huawei, we'll see). And there's apparently a US carrier partnership coming next year.
It all comes down to personal preference I think. I haven't regularly used wireless charging for ages. But I'm also perfectly OK with putting a USB Type-C adapter on my wired headphones or just using Bluetooth. Different priorities for different people.
Well done Huawei. No wonder they overtook Apple at the no.2 spot in the world. Seems at this stage they are the innovators much more so than Samsung. Have to say though the mate 10 seems better than the pro, headphone jack, front mounted fingerprint sensor with the Huawei gestures, better screen and speakers.
I own the mate 10 pro. So far, in the camera department, the software doesn't fully utilize the hardware and Needs update . The Google camera algorithm is far superior. By the way great review Kris. One of the most comprehensive in RUclips. Keep up the good work.
Everybody who says wireless charging is a gimmick is wrong. It may be a gimmick for those who think it's a gimmick but for me it definitely is not. I've been using it for 4 years and love it. Prior to using it, the most vulnerable part of my phones had been the charging port. With the constant plugging in of the cable (home, car, office), 3 phones eventually failed at the charge port. Wireless charging eliminated those issues. Yea, it's slower. But when placing in on the charger at night when I go to bed I don't care how long it takes as long as it's done when I wake up. Which it always is. For the record, it typically takes about 2 to 2.5 times longer than with the cable.
I'd go with the Mate 10 Pro. Reasons: Screen still great and saves more battery, Colors are sharper, Headphone jack ummm... I'm not happy but I don't use Headphones that much... taller and slimmer not as wide as the normal version, 6 GB of Ram and IP 67 Water and Dust Resistance! Well... it doesn't matter because I got my Galaxy S8 last month (November 4th) Just my opinion ☺

In early 2018 I looked at every phone on the market and this seemed the perfect balance between cost and capability. 9 months later and I still enjoy using it every day. And battery life is amazing! BUT where the heck can I get an original Huawei wall charger for UK use. I have one on long-standing order with a reputable online store but all I get is apologies and willingness to return my money. Same for my wife's P20 Lite. Huawei support in the UK seems non existent! Can anyone tell me where I can get these chargers please?

I need HELP. I'm using the mate 9 Does m10 front cam beat the mate 9 af? And is its screen better than m9 in terms of contrast ratio, sunlight legibility and viewing angles? I really need to know this preferably from a person with experience.
Except for the upgrade with the processor, Mate 9 is still really good. Have been using mine for 6 months and it's still smooth in terms of performance despite daily heavy usage.

I actually had one day with 7.5 hours, but I had my brightness down pretty low, so i'd hardly call it "standard". Considering a lot of other phones I've used recently, 6 hours was enough to keep me happy.
SoT isn't everything. You have to look at total uptime (and stand by time) since last full charge, apps used and apps behavior. Sensors and display brightness. Then you can judge how good is the battery life.

Only 1 problem with Huawei and other Android... The software update support usually only 18 months. With Huawei Honor 8, might not even get the Android Oreo or Android 7.1.
I'm glad Huawei is pushing the idea of using a phone in desktop-mode along with Samsung. I like Huawei's simple implementation of it with using the screen as a control interface, which I hope Samsung also implements. Luckily for Samsung users, Dex station clones are coming out that are super cheap. Imagine a future with portable HDMI displays, laptops will become a thing of the past.

Something that needs to be addressed for huawei phones... software update is almost not existent. I love my P10 plus, but there is no update at all since I got the phone. still running Android 7.0 with March 1st security patch. Awesome phone yet sometimes there are minor bugs here and there, especially when connecting it to PC, that could easily be fixed by minor software update.
Nice job guys I just watch this video about 2 months late ...my biggest problem with Huawei is there software updates as I've had the mate 9 for almost a year now and I've received no security or emui or bug fix update since last April that was 10 months ago... So why should I trust them for the mate 10?

4 to 5 hours is odd. Did you update the phone ? Because it had a bug of the Google Play Services draining battery (a good 30% IIRC)

i would consider buying huawei's flagship phones but stock android is king, however i'll definitely choose huawei over samsung's phones
fhd+ and especially oled (2 subpixels per pixel) sucks at this screen size :/ too pixelated
