Have been using the Mate 10 pro and the battery life is way better than anything Apple has, which I think is the single biggest factor for any phone. Doesn't matter how great the other features are, if you run out of juice then none of those things matter

Mate 10 has better picture overall. The view is wider too. The night picture of mate 10 just blows iPhone X out of water... the face of is a gimmick. I will stick to a touch of anytime.
Bushangels Face ID isn’t a gimmick, try it and you’ll get used to it. It’s fast and intuitive and will likely replace Touch ID in 2019 if in screen fingerprint scanners don’t come out soon enough

I’m a lifetime iPhone user, but this time I had to change to the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. I like the variety of options that this phone has. Also, I like the AI. Feels more innovative than the IPhone and is waaaaay cheaper. I’ve already ordered a Mate 10 pro.

I like the regular Mate 10 a lot better than the Pro version. 3.5mm jack, SD Card slot (hybrid SIM), rear mounted fingerprint sensor, regular 16:9 aspect ratio display, etc.
My dad got me a mate ten pro, and it's a BEAST

23 hours since I charged my Huawei mate 10 pro and used a lot trough the day, still 58% battery left.
Surfing on Facebook and internet draws nothing power but Facebook is more hungry.

I never wanted monochrome but after having it I really like it, the resolution is actually much better and the quality is great.
The color camera is also great for taking pictures in the dark.
Had to take a picture bumping up the iso to 6 or 800 and shutters peed 1/60 and the picture is very crisp and no typical grains you get from high iso.
I like it a lot

Huawei also has face recognition too. I don't use it though. A year into this phone it is still absolutely brilliant. First time ever on a 24 month contract I love my phone as much as when I first got it. I haven't had any problems at all with this phone and battery is incredible. Both charging and how long it lasts. I get over a day on Huawei even a year later. I use my phone all day.
Wait a year and I bought the Mate 10 pro for £400. A bargain. This was a reassuring video for my buy. Having used it for 6 months it's a fantastic phone.

Huawei. Had a Mate 7, now a mate 9 and I'll stick with Huawei for the foreseeable future. Extremely disappointed about the lack of jack on the 10 though. The IR blaster is amazingly handy. I thought it was a gimmick at first but I was totally wrong :x Face-ID I couldn't care less about honestly. Finger scanners are awesome especially on the back of the phone.

My Mate7 had bad support, but my Mate9 has had 3 or 4 updates in the last 2 months, so no complaints. Downside of everything Android though is shorter software support =/

The problem I have with the iPhone and the majority of flagships is that they are all overcharging for their products. When someone going to really get it right and point out the fact that the emporer has no clothes. Too many reviews all point to how grand these phones are and creating the idea that paying $900-$1000 (even $700-800), even though expensive, is acceptable. It isn't!

Shit! IPhone X is nowhere near Mate 10 Pro, which is far superior in terms of everyday usage capabilities like the infrared blaster. I have a home theatre system and I control all the units with Mate 10 Pro. Desktop feature is excellent. I spent more time on this over my notebook. Shots taken by Leica dual camera truly stunning after tweaking some of the options because out the box options are kind of basic. And now the best part, backing up your data is so darn easy and lightning fast and it's done in minutes and encrypted too! Giving up on all these features for a face detection and animoji and I got to pay more ?! Fuck no!

I prefer the way the pictures come out on the Mate 10 Pro by a ton. The OIS on the iPhone seemed like it did a better job. Huawei is making a pretty good noise on the smartphone industry and they show no signs of slowing down.
Video OIS of Mate 10 Pro is workable only in 1080p30. 4K and 60fps recording does not support OIS

I had the Mate 9 last year and I loved the outcome of the photos. Compared to the iPhone, the shots always came out more crisp and remarkably perfect. I have the iPhone 7 Plus and was thinking about switching to IPhone 10 but the price deterred me. Might have to get the Huawei phone before it’s really discontinued in the U.S. Great review!!
Great review, headphone audio quality is most important to me wired and unwired, more so than camera, or battery life.

I think you increased the dosage of drugs you are using more than a NOTCH. Mate is good looking device. Symetrical and organised. Iphone X would've been a beauty without that stupid thing up top and huge camera bump. Still, not a bad looking device.
Where i live, mate 10 is nearly half the price of iphone x so that gives it edge for my next phone. I mean i could buy two mate 10s and give one to someone special.

Huawei delivers as always. What i love the most is that huawei never makes a new phone unless there are enough good upgrades worth upgrading too while apple and samsung for example slightly change better camera and add new apps etc that no one use and call it a new phone.
Huawei cares and understand this and respects this thats why I'll go for Huawei. Plus the mate 10 pro has so much better techs than any out there so far.

i like to think about my phone as an extention of myself, and I feel restricted with ios and being fooled on buying expensive things and having to buy even extra things to get what others have in one package. I has a mate 9 and now the mate 10 pro, all the handy features that phone has have made my life a lot easier. I dont know what is even think about battery life, i check battery at night when im about to sleep and connect my phone. Great camera, pc mode exellent, and flawless performance... I only miss my 3.5 jack :(

Bought a Matr 10 Pro and have been using them for 2 weeks already. Overall the pictures are nice and even no need to edit. During night still perform very well the camera. I love iPhone but its way too pricy and I think iPhone win because of its '' brand ''. Huawei win of its price and also function. Just opinion :)

I think the regular Mate 10 and regular iPhone 8 are the better phones, and price wise are much better values.
I came from various iphones over the years to the Huawei mate 10 pro, when I saw the Huawei was being compared to the ix for half the price here in the UK I knew it was at least worth trying for a few months. Havent been disappointed so far :)
let's not forget that the mate 10 pro has not received a single os update yet. It's running stock 8.0 without any fixes or improvements compared to iphone's IOS

I use the Huawei mate 9 for 1 year now, and it's still super fast with great battery life, even after 1 year. And that fast charging is so good when you need your phone but you forget to charge at night... So i had choose the Huawei mate 10 pro.
Nice review Danny. Huawei mate 10 is a great device if you can live past the skinned version of the OS. I am currently using iphone 7 but i wish these manufacturers like Samsung and huawei would make phones with less skinned version of Android (like what sony does)

I see someone has already said this but I will repeat it as it is worth stressing. As you yourself said these are close to each other in so many areas. So the elephant in the room is cost. I can (and just did) buy the M10 and for for less than half the cost of the iPhone X. That is a huge deal for me and I know with only one phone in my pocket, I will never miss not buying the iPhone X. It really is a no brainer in my mind; the Mate 10 wins hands down when I can keep over $800 in my pocket, Gosh that's 2 Mates for the 1 iPhone. That says it all.

You can swipe up for Face ID as the screen is lighting up. I never wait until the screen turns on and I see the lock icon. I just raise and swipe. Face ID Is not that slow

Enable power saving mode on the mate 10.. Feel no performance issue since when the load is heavy it will bump up the processor speed, getting 6-8 hours pretty easy..
Ir blastet is important..glad that mate10 pro has it...

The AI scene recognition cannot be turned off in auto. To make things fair all of it was shot in auto just like the iPhone.
