I believe it was either Rosemary Gladstar or Susan Weed that said
it was really helpful with people who are grieving. I’ve never forgotten that since I was in a profound start of grief when my mom died, and it would have been so nice to have something that would have helped me.
Motherwort has been reported to help in certain heart conditions such as arrhythmia. That’s why it has that ‘cardiaca’ as the species. Chinese motherwort is an annual but I believe American motherwort is a biannual or perennial.
That's why I'm using it with hawthorn, Apple mint and Gynostemma. Bradycardia and bigeminies...by gum... ;)
Thank you SO MUCH!! I know what Motherwort is, it grows everywhere here! But I had no idea of its uses! I'll definitely be digging deeper about it! Wish I'd known this 2 weeks ago before our first freeze, I'd have harvested some to dry. Next year! Again thank you, I'm enjoying as well as learning from your videos. God bless!
Leonurus cardiaca - Lions Heart. Can be used to help treat heart conditions.
Glad you showed it around the globe. What I bought was Chinese Motherwort seeds; funny for a mint that it doesn't overwinter and I hope it reseeds OK.
It is prolific, self-seeding from a plant start several years ago.....will try to remember to use this ....thank you....
Made motherwort tea and it was really awful. We make tinctures instead 😊
Tnx for the Info. Some of us have never heard of this. I'm big with Wild Lettuce. I've turned my yards into WL Forest.
Thank you! It’s synthetic oxytocin also know Pitocin.
I need to find that one yet, though I don't need it. Always good info! Thanks!
Always good to know about. It is a weed you wouldn't often notice unless you are looking for it.
Idk about that those things stand right out to me, from a distance they look like cannibus until the flowers come out
@@chuckbailey6835 I would not know that either😁 unless I have seen it, even as a child, I will know it, what I am not familiar with..... gotta learn.
Thanks brother
You are welcome.
the structure of your videos is excellent. One question. Can you feature a particular plant that has a very spicy after taste (quite incredible how strong it is). It looks like golden rod but has no discernible flowers and is about half the height of golden rod. (so maybe 2 feet high in mid august. It grows in st st lawrence lowlands so a 5b growing zone. thanks very much
This is just timely my fiance just had a baby and I've been wanting to give this to her even tho the internet keeps saying don't use if pregnant or breastfeeding
Enjoy your videos, any regarding seasonal allergies?
Try stinging nettles!
@@LelandPagosa I do, however not complete in building immunities
Motherwort is a natural beta blocker of sorts. It is indicated in hyperthyroid, Graves, transient (hyper)thyroiditis as well as hashitoxicosis tachycardia.
Does anyone have a go to for bulk herbs? I live in north Idaho and I’ve never seen motherwort in the woods. I’d like to buy it in bulk.
Apologies if posting this twice, but it isn't showing up for me. I've had great luck with Monterey Bay Herb Company.
You can buy seeds online. Etsy may have live plants I see they have seeds, so does hudson valley seeds. I'm probably going to but seeds and plant in spring.
Mountain rose herbs
Here in Michigan we have tons growing wild. I can harvest some for you! But how to connect?
I wondered what happened to you. Haven't been getting your notifications.
Is this the same as St John’s wart or is it a different herb?
It is different.
Where can I buy this in a trust website as a tincture or extract? And also if am breastfeeding can I use this?
Mountain Rose Herbs
Be careful what the pharmaceutical people will provide for you. They know nothing about wild plans. I live in Washington state and I ask everybody at the pharmaceutical area at Rite Aid or Safeway or anywhere I ask him can you tell me one plant that grows in my area that might help me And they cannot answer it they know nothing so what’s happening is they don’t know anything about any plants at all they can prescribe you anything that might really even help you but they can’t have their medicine down your throat and that goes for your doctor or anybody else for the healthcare history Especially when we are talking about babies and mothers. There has been a lot of drugs tested out on us using us as guinea pigs and what came from it was a lot of retarded children especially from the 1990s.
shoot i just weeded it out of my herb garden like an idiot
Funny, it might grow back. Blessings.
Lol! It’s okey. Next year, don’t forget to harvest and dry them. I drink this tea and it helps me with my anxiety, sadness and mild seasonal depression. ❤❤❤
Bless up!
Can men drink this herb
I would assume so, I think the STRESS of starting motherhood having a plant to match n balance it is how it got its name. If you as a human need to be calm I definitely would look deeper into it, get the latin name, search for papers on it... Stay far from the first sites that pop up... They are supported and back by entities who wouldn't thrive if you helped yourself...
You are asking the right questions, but remember even science has bias now days. Good luck.
motherwart is in the Artemisia family while mint is in the Lamiaceae family. they are not related....? when a video starts off with incorrect information it makes me click stop immediately...
Motherwort is Leonurus cardiaca. Mugwort is Artemisia vulgaris.
Motherwort is of the mint family.
Mugwort is of the daisy family.
Motherwort has a square stem, as do all in the Mint family.
Artemisia does not.
Hope this helps!
If it has worked for centuries, why do research to prove what we already know? 🤔
Some things turn out not to work. So it can be helpful.
For the haters
So they can discredit plants and natural medicine (free medicine).. Also they dont want to put much money on researching what is free and can't be patented and made into profit.
Why do research?
So we finally discover the serious problems with some varieties of Birthwort, which for thousands of years was "known" to be beneficial.
Or that St John's Wort is great on its own, but can cause problems in conjunction with other drugs.
Scientific research is important.
