Unfortunately, the trend you identify didn’t start with films and won’t end there. There has been an all out war being waged on male identity since at least The Declaration of Sentiments in 1848. Think about it. Here’s a simple example: Girls allowed in Boy Scouts but boys excluded from Girl Scouts. This gynocentric extremism has ruined a lot more than just our favorite film franchises.
There are plenty of women who hate this stuff too. It's just bad story. I'm all for having more diversity and inclusion, just write good stories for them.
It is such a dumb marketing strategy the entire point of buying Marvel and Star Wars was to get a male audience to buy Disney products, but now they pretty much are using it to pander to the same audience who are into Disney princess stuff.
It is sad. Here's my medal to leave at the memorial. One of my best star wars memories was given to me by Disney, many years ago, when I saw the life size AT-AT walker outside the Star Tours ride in Disneyworld Florida. My mom took my picture holding a pretend blaster up at it in defiance, and I can still see that photo in our scrapbook, in my mind. Lost to a flood like so many memories. But nature can be cruel. Man can be even crueler with what they wash away. Neither can touch my memories, though.

I used to be a huge Star Wars fan. Read a lot of the books and comics, collected shit, watched the cartoons and movies, played many of the games. I used to consider it my favorite fantasy setting, tied only with Warhammer. Since 2015 and especially after 2017 with TLJ and all that's come since then I've slowly lost interest. I've questioned whether or not I even like Star Wars in any capacity, let alone still consider it one of my favorites. It's clear to me that Star Wars is no longer made for old fans like me. The fun that was in the originals, prequels, and the EU material is absent from mouse wars. It's a shame. I completely, utterly, wholly detest what Star Wars has become. You could not find someone on this planet that hates Disney Star Wars more than me. Why did it have to be this way. Disney's handling of Star Wars is so bad that it's even poisoned the old Star Wars stuff. I can't even watch the old movies or play the old games without remembering the absolute trash that Star Wars became. Mouse Wars is a cancer that has destroyed it in my eyes. I'll always remember the good times I had with it before Disney, but I can't call myself a fan anymore.
People don't care if there's female characters when written well, but they have 5hitted all over the men, made every female character a girl boss and thats all they have done since the Force Awakens and Marvel too.

You have hit the nail on the head perfectly. All of Hollywood should watch your video and learn from it. I hope you get more subs, your content is well thought out and pertinent. Keep up the great work!
That's not how Hollywood works. I do enjoy your optimism, but it's completely misplaced if you think Hollywood wants to learn anything from anyone not spouting the same nonsense they are. They don't care about anything else. They don't think about anything else. All that has been said in all the propaganda trying to pass itself off as art, and that's all they're concerned about in the interviews. They don't think about how things make life harder for normal people. They think they're above that. They're threatened by it more than anything. Because it debunks their entire way of being. Which is selfish. Not selfless.
That's a better fate for the main three from the OT. They get married, have families and, as far as we know, die in their old age. Luke's Jedi order isn't destroyed either, though he still gets an evil nephew. The last Han and Leia were seen, they were off raising their granddaughter while Luke was traveling the galaxy with his son.
At this point, with how much money is spent vs made on these projects, you cannot convince me disney star wars isn't a massive money laundering scheme.

Honestly, all of the problems they point out about the Mary Sue prove they don't understand the concept. "oh Anakin was a Mary Sue. Why not talk about him?" Because his powers were explained, he failed several times, and several major characters in the main cast hate him. "Why is it only aimed towards female characters?" It's not. Men can also be a Mary Sue (the term is Gary Stu). "It's very sexist" it's not. The concept originated from a Star Trek parody where the main character of the story is named Mary Sue. The entire point of the parody was to highlight terrible writing choices the author noticed in fan fiction writing. Particularly, that the main character is clearly just a self insert for the writer, and that the main character has no flaws and all the characters fall in love with them. The only reason why she's called Mary Sue and is a woman is because, and this is important for the claim that it's sexist, the person who created this story IS a woman. "Why do you only point it out when it's women" well, we don't. In fact I can point out a prime example of a Gary Stu being Kirito from Sword Art Online. But more to the point of why we see the concept more with women is because, quite frankly, that's how female characters are being written. It's just a simple fact. And I boil it down to them not understanding how to translate these genres that have a male audience to both have a female lead and make it something that appeals to women.
Even funnier is Rey was originally written to fail many times and even become blinded...but was changed because KK didn't like the implication of a women hero facing such failure and violence. For example...Luke was supposed to completely humble Rey in a sparring match to show just how much training she needed...but once again it was changed because KK didn't like the idea of Luke pushing Rey around. So Rey being written to be so perfect and powerful is legit because it's a women.
If she wants an example of a male Mary Sue all she has to do is look at the Star Trek franchise. Wesley Crusher of TNG is a huge Gary Stu and guess what? People don't like that character either!
@BiggieTrismegistus honestly, I haven't seen star trek, but I thought the characters didn't like him either. You know, like that meme of "shut up Wesley". I do know fans don't like him, but bare minimum if the characters don't like him either he's not a Gary stu. Good thought though.

Corporate feminism is so toxic. True feminists know better than to support any kind of hate/injustice. It was never about replacing men or removing them from the narrative. I am spreading this message all over the web where Disney is concerned. There is no way back for them. They cannot be seen surrendering to a fanbase they see as bigoted. Think about it. Imagine that you were given a business asset worth 8 billion dollars, and at the end of your first three years as CEO, the asset was worth 5 billion. Would they renew your contract? Let's say they did, and at the end of the next two years, the property's value declined to 3 billion dollars. Would they still renew your contract? This is the game Disney is playing with Iger and Kennedy. They keep losing money with the exact same strategy, and yet they've kept their jobs through multiple contract cycles. The ideology is of paramount importance to Disney's corporate identity. Iger and Kennedy may not be delivering profits, but they are building Disney's core identity. What you are seeing is the new Disney, this is not a blip.

And what do they do with the 2 male-centric brands they bought literally to bring in the male demographic? Turn them gay and girly, kick the straight male protagonists to the side and make the movies about "girl power" And now that they've straight up ruined both studios, only time will tell how long the House of Mouse will keep them before ruining them even more
It feels like they are deliberately going against what is Star Wars. It feels deliberately disrespectful to the lore and has no respect to the source material. Are they deathly allergic to having male characters? Are they allergic to quality storytelling, world building, character development..? This is awful! It really seems like whoever is making these doesn't realize Star Wars used to be a really well made world full of diversity. It didn't matter what kind of character, creature, species you were, they found great ways to convey artistic depictions of the Human condition. Creative ways that connects us all on a deeper level. And why do I use Rowling’s example? Well the only thing she’s ever done is write Harry Potter; a storyline ahead of stole almost exactly from Star Wars 😂
Disney could change Star Wars to what they want because they own it. Look what they did to Captain America. They wrote in the comic that Sam would be the new Captain America. They changed Captain America into a DEI character and there is nothing you could do about it because it was written in a comic that they own.
It's worse than plundering someone else's work. It's intentional subversion as a means of revenge for all the slights they suffered growing up queer or black or otherwise alienated.
No, it’s only a few hacks that Disney hired that actually think this way, and I still have a theory that the reason a few of them speak like that in interviews is because they think it’ll win them virtue signal points with the company. It’s all a performance because of the current marketing strategy of Disney. This marketing strategy is where they attempt to use twisted over-simplified versions of progressivism to market their creatively corrupt products. If Disney can say that a product was made by a person with X or Y marginalized identity, then they can say that any criticism towards that product is based in bigotry, and they can guilt-trip audiences into consuming the product. It’s an ethically devoid strategy that ends up making all people with marginalized identities look bad, even though it’s the corporate executives who originally adopted this strategy. If you haven’t noticed, most of those people are still white men as they always have been, with the occasional white woman in a high place, like Kathleen Kennedy. The bottom line is that these studio execs have so much money and are so separated from the experiences and discussions of the average person that they blindly, lazily try to pander to whatever trendy ideas are floating around twitter, and the end result is a corporate culture so intent on using diversity as a marketing tool that they have recently hired incompetent creatives with marginalized identities to make their new products. I firmly believe that the majority of “queer, black, or otherwise alienated” creatives have no grudge against other creatives’ work and only want to tell their own original stories. But because of Disney’s hiring process, internal corporate culture, and their greater unwillingness to take real creative risks because of shareholder returns, we will not get a new Star Wars or a new Marvel under this era of Disney.

Did that stop or something? I don't remember seeing any girls in cub scouts when I was in, back in the early 2000s.
There are plenty of women who hate this stuff too. It's just bad story. I'm all for having more diversity and inclusion, just write good stories for them.

No. Her name is Kuntleen Kennedy, thank you very much.
It is such a dumb marketing strategy the entire point of buying Marvel and Star Wars was to get a male audience to buy Disney products, but now they pretty much are using it to pander to the same audience who are into Disney princess stuff.
Indeed

The people who used to make fun of us for liking SW are now running SW.
Hence why it sucks now
I used to be a huge Star Wars fan.
Indeed feel your pain, my friend…

There is always hope. I still missed couple of Star Wars books by Timothy Zahn. This man knows, how to weave an amazing story.
At least we still have the Star Wars legends novels. The Superior sequel content is there
Even though it’s no longer being continued
That's a better fate for the main three from the OT. They get married, have families and, as far as we know, die in their old age. Luke's Jedi order isn't destroyed either, though he still gets an evil nephew. The last Han and Leia were seen, they were off raising their granddaughter while Luke was traveling the galaxy with his son.

@@TheDalinkwent rey being blind would've been pretty cool. But again, KK wanted a self insert and wanted that self insert to be special.

It’s about owning our identities without accepting oppression towards who we are. Padme, Ahsoka, Barriss, Asaji, are great examples of female characters in Star Wars. The plot is being lost
If they want to make their fan fiction and tell men not to watch, I'll be happy to oblige.

“R2D2’s a lesbian”
How does the director of a StarWars show not understand something as simple as R2D2 always being referred to as “he” in the canon material.
What's funny is when Disneys target audience was mostly still girls...they created characters, stories and themes that would still appeal to a male audience. Yet now Disney creates anti-male characters, stories and themes and still expects those same people to buy in. It makes no sense.

And it’s eventually going to cause Disney to crumble. It’s only a matter of time

Disney literally bought Lucas Films and Marvel because they were concerned that their brand was attached to "princesses" and they were losing the boy/male demographics.
And what do they do with the 2 male-centric brands they bought literally to bring in the male demographic?
Turn them gay and girly, kick the straight male protagonists to the side and make the movies about "girl power"
And now that they've straight up ruined both studios, only time will tell how long the House of Mouse will keep them before ruining them even more

Disney, the Princess Channel.
They need to go ahead and retire Mickey and put Minny in charge.
Sidenote: What is so SPECIAL about osha and Mea for them to be the Main focus, main characters, etc. She has the personality of a cardboard box. She has no range to her acting abilities, she has 0 depth to her character, 0 intricate abilities and no unique aspects to her characters story arc.. Disney could change Star Wars to what they want because they own it. Look what they did to Captain America. They wrote in the comic that Sam would be the new Captain America. They changed Captain America into a DEI character and there is nothing you could do about it because it was written in a comic that they own.
George Lucas sold it in October of 2012, 2 months before December, I wonder if he thought the world was ending lol
DEI'ESGney hates the fans, and we hate them. BlackRock will continue ruining everything from our childhood until we stop giving them money.
But because of Disney’s hiring process, internal corporate culture, and their greater unwillingness to take real creative risks because of shareholder returns, we will not get a new Star Wars or a new Marvel under this era of Disney.
i felt her when she said star wars was gay already i been thought that the last time it was good the guy talking wasn’t even born so i don’t get what he’s complaining about
