These take me back to my childhood days in India 😊 The thing about these, and many other Karnataka recipes, is that we make the main vegetable star of the recipe, unlike many north influenced recipes where everything is based on tomato paste, ginger garlic paste and gram masala with onions, green peppers and carrots. You take any of these palyas in this video and replace with another vegetable, it stands on its own. For example, cucumber, mangalore-southekayi, chayote, beets, etc. i just love these simple side dishes.

Bassaru goes very well with mudde and rice.

Pumpkin ranks high on the glycemic index at 75, but low on the glycemic load at 3. People might assume that it is bad for diabetics because of its high GI, but that is not true. Its low GL rank indicates that having a small portion of pumpkin is perfectly safe and will not drastically increase your blood sugar levels
