For people watching the series for the first time in chronological order, when you get to Aliens and Ripley says the line, you’ll go “omg that’s the line Andy says!”
When they showed the harpoon still in beaded in the original alien when it was hanging from the ceiling, i would have thought the acid would have melted it away.🤔
LOL. I watched "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" as a kid. Ah, memories. Good one, Ryan. Yes, getting old is tight. 100%, People Don't Even Realize. 😂😂😂....😭
@@Ladykyra101 I guess there was a version on in the early 2000's - didn't even know. I remember the one from the mid-80's with Jack Palance and that pause: "Believe it ... ... ... or not" 😆
I loved this movie! And this was hilarious but one thing, Ash wasn’t the only one of his type. I think a certain number of them were made at the same time and just sent to different ships/stations/wherever. That’s why Rook has a different name but still looks like Ian Holm’s Ash. Think like in Alien Isolation, or even in Prometheus/Alien Covenant. There were two Davids. That’s just my take on the whole android thing in this movie. Love your content, bro. 😊
I don’t know if I agree with that, it’s been awhile since I watched the 2 season Sarah Chronicles tv show, but I enjoyed it very much watching it as it aired.
So far James Cameron has been the only one that takes risks and set the bar too high, with practical effects, now, everyone does cgi and use the same formula as the other movies, once the xenomorph was revealed, there is no longer a surprise, we need more xenomorphs, different types, use the Genocide comic and make a movie about it.
It’s not like the saying was some well known quote to the populace. So the timeline doesn’t really matter. We’re just supposed to be dumb enough to get excited by a line we remember.
My issue with this film is so many things felt like they happened because the script said they should happen rather than occuring naturally. Its not a bad fillm but its not great either. "Here is a deus ex machina that will heal you, until it stops healing you but thenr removing it will heal you . . ." What . . . I mean maybe I missed something but the device heals a character then suddenly it stops working but removing it heals them again? How does that work. If it completely healed them it shouldn't have stopped working but it did because "plot" then removing it allows them to be healed again because "plot"? At least give me a pseudoscience reversed the polarities explanation if your going to pull stuff like that.
For some reason I never see anyone talk about how the "get away from her you...bitch" moment is clearly played for a laugh. Its meant to ease the tension and get audiences to put their guards down before the 4th act horror show. Seems like people treat it as though it was supposed to be a bad ass moment that fell flat, but if it was someone gave the actor horrible direction because he delivered it with perfect comedic timing.
I do agree it could have done without all the member berries. That seems to be the #1 criticism so Im hopeful the enevitable sequel will focus more on adding to the lore rather than rehashing. I loved the movie personally
Wait, some people think from that line reading that it’s NOT supposed to be a joke? Like maybe it’s super awkward for Andy’s programming to swear (depending how young Rain got him it might be against directive to swear to set a good example for her) so it just kinda dribbles out. He is not tough in while in V1 mode but he is trying his best for his sister.
The "say the iconic line" thing has nothing to do with making sense. It is entirely meta. That is what they think gets people. "Oooh, he said the thing! He said the thing!" It is just sad that it passes for being creative. That being said, I didn't hate the movie.. That is before the baby came along and it all turned into complete garbage. Slow down the pacing and have that baby part of the movie be spent of character development instead, it could be a perfectly respectable movie. EDIT: Andy was easily the best part. That actor did a good job.
The Pitch Meeting was quite funny though it missed a few of my gripes. I didn't hate the movie but found it forgettable. The main android had the best character arc (I completely disliked the Ian Holm android and think they should have cast someone else). The legacy one-liners were grating and I absolutely hated the hybrid human-alien thing at the end (the xenomorph design are perfect, they should stop trying to make it humanoid... the engineers were also badly done in Prometheus and Covenant). Fede Alvarez has a real talent for horror, the use of the facehuggers were creepy, the actors were "good", the mood and set pieces were very well executed and the full-grown aliens (not the abomination at the end) are the best part of this film. I know I'm in the minority but I found AVP much better that this (better characters too). I'm glad I went to see Alien: Romulus in cinema but I probably won't watch this one again for a while. As always YOUR reaction to the Pitch Meeting was Pitch Perfect.
Glad you enjoyed the reaction! Yeah, I was mixed on the humanoid alien at the end. That sequence had the most potential for scary moments, so that I liked. Otherwise, I wanted more xenomorph action.
@@sajaman_swedishviking7454 I couldn't get into either. The tone of those movies didn't work for me. I do want to give them both another chance since I haven't watched them since they originally released.
That was my thought too, but if AVP is actually canon to the other movies, then technically they would come first. I'm good with them not being canon though, lol!!
@@OnMyMindEntertainment yea not gonna lie, now i kinda enjoyed the first AVP BUT was surprised at seeing it on this list, I look at AVP as its own thing, or IF it was to belong to a franchise I would put it under Predator franchise

"It's an iconic line of Ripley's: believe it or not" easily missed reference of nostalgia there.
I don't get it, does Ellen Ripley say 'believe it or not' at some point? Doesn't ring a bell...
Its Ripley's....Believe It or Not
"I don't like the way time works" 🤣🤣🤣me too dude

“Because”
“That works”
Andy the sonic screwdriver?
All they had to do was have him say "Get away from her .." and that woulda been enough. Still loved the movie 8/10.
And to think in the future new viewers will watch this in chronological order and think Andy said it first and say hey Ripley said Andy's line.
@@scorp77snake right! Lol!!!
As a matter of public record, I just want to say I was a fan of On My Mind long before the AI NIL War.
😀🙌🏿
Much like Terminator, the Alien franchise should have stopped at 2.
I mostly agree, even thought I liked Alien 3 and the silliness of Alien: Resurrection.
@@OnMyMindEntertainment Alien 3 destroyed the end of Aliens. Things would have been objectively better if Ripley never went back for Newt.
Good thing this is Alien 1.5

That's why it was weird. There was no previous context other than being a popular line from a movie whose events haven't even happened yet.
Alien vs predator movies shouldn't be in the same timeline.

Between Alien and Aliens is not the correct chronological order to watch Romulus. The correct time to watch Romulus is never.
