This movie is one of my favourites. It really made clear how small the Rebellion was against the Empire and how desperate they were. Also: the hallway scene with vader is one of the few scenes I think where you really see why everyone was afraid of darth vader. Really scary!

You're referring to Mon Mothma in Return Of The Jedi. "Many Bothins died... to bring us this information." As @andyMiller6661 said, Leia only said, "I hope this is worth the price we paid" in Star Wars. Either way, there are always untold heroes who give everything and who are rarely recognized in any war - on both sides. There's no evidence that Lucas ever planned to tell a story about them - that single line of dialog was meant to leave it to our imaginations - but I'm really glad that they did actually make a great story out of it. Even though it was fictional, it was undoubtedly inspired by real actions by real people in real wars who did their part - big or small - to win a larger war and whose story was barely told. The writing here was excellent, night-and-day different from most Disney Star Wars projects.

This is, BY MILES, the best Disney-made Star Wars movie, mostly because it's the one that Disney was involved in the least. And it's great that we got to learn the stories of people who largely weren't in the original trilogy BUT who played important roles in the success of the rebellion. One person can't fight a war alone and win - it has to be a team effort, and inevitably, it's likely to come at a high cost to much of the team. The characters in Rogue One only played a small role in the overall war, yet it was a vital one, and their story was worth telling. I think you would also enjoy the Andor TV series, which is a prequel to this as it is essentially the story of Cassian Andor prior to the events in Rogue One, and it gives even more background an insight to the Empire and how it took over populations and in many cases enslaved those populations for its own goals. It also shows that even a handful of people fighting back can cause huge problems for an evil empire. Andor has a lot less actual fighting, and a lot more character development and backstory, so some people don't like it as much, but much like Rogue One, is has surprisingly good writing (when most of the other Disney Star Wars has terrible writing) and you get to see many different aspects of the rebellion - from the poorest kids like Cassian Andor to the ultra-wealthy "society" people like Senator Mon Mothma (who we first "met" in Return Of The Jedi). The Mandalorian started strong, but is best only watched until the end of Season 2. The Book Of Boba Fett and the Obi Wan Kenobi shows totally destroyed those characters with their awful writing and ret-con narratives, and The Acolyte was just pure trash - but Andor is quality Star Wars, even if it's not as flashy and full of space ships shooting at each other all the time. I hope you guys react to it.
Yes Chi, the Empire was indeed inspired in its aesthetics and ideology by You Know Which Dictatorship.... The back guys are like the Special division of Death troopers who brang death and destruction. The waterfall obviously serves as a hydroelectric power plant. Those AT ATs are unfinished prototypes, they don't have the armored plates on the side of the cargo/troop compartments. The movie released about a couple of weeks before Carrie Fisher's death so that ending scene is especially sad for us.
24:10 ''Without the full support of the Council'' This is literally the *exact* same problem the Old Republic had. Too many weak spineless voices having too much power and refusing to do anything against the Trade Federation, they were able to conquer star system after star system. Apathy is the motto of the Republic.
I saw this film in theaters on my birthday, which was also the day Carrie Fisher passed away. Seeing Princess Leia at the end of the film made watching the film feel like a good tribute to her.
Reacting to Andor, the Mandalorian, The Clone Wars (TV Show) or Rebels, would be great. I'm not really interested in the sequel movies. But obviously you should watch whichever Star Wars media interests you most.
I'm not a fan of the newer main Star Wars films but I'm not bothered, watch them if YOU want to watch them. I watching your videos for you guys and not necessarily the films. If you watch a film I love then that's just a bonus.
As someone who grew up with the original trilogy and later the prequels, i strongly dislike most of what Disney has done with Star Wars, but I really like this movie, while my opinion of your channel will not change whether or not you react to the sequel trilogy, I do not recommend them
The sequels are a disjointed mess, I'll agree. However, with that said, I do commend Disney for at least TRYING to connect the ST with the OT, via the live actions shows set between the two. Is it perfect? Nope. But it DOES "track" with what we saw of Palpatine in the "expanded universe/legends".
@@IggyStardust1967 ehh not a big fan of the shows either, I just prefer sticking to original EU for post-OT stories, but you’ll never see me begrudge someone their right to like what they like
This story was already in the movies so all Disney had to do was put a chick in it and make her lame and gay, their specialty. If they have to do anything more than that it ends in disaster.
Krennic dying to his own weapon is a perfect death for him. RIP to James Earl Jones, he will forever be remembered as a great actor and a great man. He's one with the force.
Am I the only one worried that by watching too many movies, Chi and Hela will lose their grace, sincerity, sweetness, and innocence and become jaded like the rest of us?😂

Here they are in Chronological Order- - Episode 1 : The Phantom Menace - Ep 2 Attack of The Clones -Episode 3: Revenge Of The Sith -Obi Wan - Solo - Rogue One -Ep 4 A New Hope -Ep 5 The Empire Strikes Back - Ep 6 Return Of The Jedi - The Mandalorian - Book of Boba Fett -Ashoka -Ep 7 The Force Awakens - Ep 8 The Last Jedi - Ep 9 Rise of Skywalker
What a great view of seeing Vader as pure evil at this point. I had not thought of this as a moment to see Vader at his full relentless military tank style of being, Brava!

When I watched it at my local cinema i was tired from work. I dozed off and woke up at the third act when x-wings and tie fighter sounds were rocking the speakers..... now im in Star Wars, Yeah!
Great reactions Chi & Hella! I love this film and was anxious to see you react to it. Other than the original trilogy, this is the best Star Wars movie, IMO. The remaining films that you haven't seen, Ep. 7, 8 & 9, are generally considered the weakest and I wouldn't mind if you skipped them for something else! Again, so much fun watching you're reactions! 💯❤
This is very much reminiscent of classic World War 2 movies like “Hell is for Heroes” and “the Dirty Dozen” which is very much in the spirit of the original Star Wars which took inspiration from vintage World War 2 movies for their aerial combat sequences
Great review ladies! I'm 52 and grew up loving the first 3 Star Wars films! I hated the 3 prequels, they were embarassing. However, this one ranks up there with the originals! I can watch them over and over, it's nice to add this to the mix! This one really ties the old and new films together.
38:45 Also, Chi, Peter Cushing, the actor who played Grand Tarkin, passed away in 1994, If I remember correctly, so, they'd used CGI to resurrect the character for this movie
I hope you will react to the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, (6 short episodes on Disney+). I also enjoyed Solo: A Star Wars Story as a "one-off" tied to some main characters in other movies. I know the Sequel Trilogy is controversial, but I'd still be interested in your reaction to the new characters and the direction the story takes.
Hello Movie Munchies, The princess Leia at the end of the film has a CGI face but the body is that of an actress, the same for the character Tarkin. The sequels aren't that good, in my opinion, but if you want to react...ok, the most important thing is the reaction. In fact, I would like you to continue reacting to the films "Back to the Future 2 and 3", the trilogy is very good. I'm so excited to see you girls are reacting to the "Batman: The Dark Knight" trilogy.
Really tough call to watch any more Star Wars films or not....I think either way is fine honestly. But what I will say is that I saw you reacted to Batman Begins (the first movie in The Dark Knight trilogy) and I'm DEFINITELY super excited to see you guys reacting to THAT whole trilogy!!! Woot Woooooot!!!!
There is a TV series called "Andor" that leads up to this movie and its fantastic, so much tension and emotion. I'm not even a huge Star wars fan but I highly recommend it.
The other character recreated by CGI is Grand Moff Tarkin (the old guy that tells them to fire the Death Star). I think they did the best job on this one.
Im a new follower but have been watching all of these reactions. I love how both of your interest in movies is evolving. You guys are amazing and cant wait to see more!
I'd be happy if you girls continue with Star Wars content for sure! But also, there's a movie I'd love for you to watch which is Rain Man (1988) with Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman!
Maybe they should watch the acclaimed Rain Man with an award winning Dustin Hoffman performance rather than the nonsense that is the Disney Star Wars. They could react to good films instead of bad ones.
I was a Star Wars kid who grew up with X-Wings, Tie Fighters, Imperial Walkers, Stormtroopers. I never really liked the Prequel films because it was Clones vs Droids, and Jedi vs Sith. There were no "Gold Leaders" Pilots as supporting characters, no generals/admirals commanding ships/men. The "Wars" lost personality/humanity in the prequel films treated "War" like a joke almost. Rogue One made me feel like a child again. It didn't involve Jedi or Sith, Clones or Droids, it was good old human vs human conflict, like the original Star Wars films that I loved so much as a kid.
Hella and Chi, I think I can speak for everyone.......we all love your reactions to some of our favorite movies. And yes, continue with episodes 7, 8, and 9. Watch "Solo" anytime in between.
16:28 "Their Clothes Reminds Me Of The Nazis" Well, Chi, that's exactly who George Lucas had modeled the Galactica Empire on. And not just the designs of The Clothes but also the colors that are used. Even the title of Stormtroopers was directly lifted from The Nazis because that's what the SS were also called
The actors that played the Death Star Commander, Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) had passed away in real life before the film was made and they used CGI for their characters. I wonder if their families got a residual check for using their likeness, which was a big part of the film. Does anyone know?
Hi Chi and Hella, yes that was CGI for princess Leia. Also Grand Moff Tarkin the imperial officer who was at a power struggle with Krennic in the movie,. he oders the firing of the death satar. he was also in Episode IV. I really enjoyed this movie a lot! I hope you will watch the Obi Wan series. it take place 10 years after Episode3 but about 8-9 years before this movie. It is a cool series IMO, and gives a little bit more of the story in between. Thanks for the reaction, Ireally enjoy watching the Star Wars Saga with you, and other movies as well. take care my friends!
I had a great time watching this with you girls. I dare to suggest you continue watching more Star wars related, it would be a good start to see "Andorc, probably one of the best prequel series, the story of Cassian Andor and the beginning of the rebellion. Also" Obi Wan" is a great series. Thank you girls!

Hella didn’t seem to notice that Princess Leia was CGI - and both ladies didn’t seem to notice that Mof Tarkin was CGI as Peter Cushing died in 1994 and Carrie Fisher passed away 2 weeks after Rogue One was released
27:45 "the blind guy is so cool" the blind guy is played by Donnie Yen, if you like him then, i would highly recommend movie's of his, specially the-- Ip Man
The sequel trilogy takes a piss on the first 2 trilogy, for that reason I can't recommend it, but I'll watch if you do. Now, the Clone Wars cartoon. That's damn good.
You guys should absolutely watch the movie School of Rock...it's a very fun, funny, and wholesome movie starring Jack Black in the role that made him huge (He was also in Tropic Thunder). I think you Munchies would get a really big kick out of it! 🙂🙂
It would be amazing if yall could cover Andor on the channel. I don’t care much for the other disney plus shows just Andor. It’s an amazing expansion to the star wars universe that humanizes/compartmentalizes the conflict.

What he said.
You might know this, Carrie Fisher’s mother Debbie Reynolds died the day after her daughter passed.
Reacting to Andor, the Mandalorian, The Clone Wars (TV Show) or Rebels, would be great. I'm not really interested in the sequel movies. But obviously you should watch whichever Star Wars media interests you most.
I agree with this list with the small change of only season 1 and 2 of Mandalorian. Please do not watch season 3.
+1 for the Andor TV Show
I’m interested to see a reactor watch Andor first, then Rogue One. I think it’d pack a lot more drama that way.
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 Ben Spiller is reacting in timeline order. He's working through Kenobi right now.
100% agree
I'm not a fan of the newer main Star Wars films but I'm not bothered, watch them if YOU want to watch them. I watching your videos for you guys and not necessarily the films. If you watch a film I love then that's just a bonus.
17:49 Hella: "We haven't got a light moment yet...."
Yeah, about that..... 😟😟
@@IggyStardust1967 ehh not a big fan of the shows either, I just prefer sticking to original EU for post-OT stories, but you’ll never see me begrudge someone their right to like what they like
Yes, this film is a prime example of 'even a blind squirrel can sometimes get a nut'.
This story was already in the movies so all Disney had to do was put a chick in it and make her lame and gay, their specialty. If they have to do anything more than that it ends in disaster.
Oh wow.. the last jedi was a direct stab to my heart, next one was a confused mess. Mandalorian S1 and 2 was good though.
to me, the original 3 movies and this one are good. I don't need any of the other stuff.
Krennic dying to his own weapon is a perfect death for him.
RIP to James Earl Jones, he will forever be remembered as a great actor and a great man. He's one with the force.
Am I the only one worried that by watching too many movies, Chi and Hela will lose their grace, sincerity, sweetness, and innocence and become jaded like the rest of us?😂
Yeah, I worry about that too. Hollywood corrupts all. All nations have drunk of the wine of her fornication.
@@terrylandess6072 Yeah, I am not watching those because of that.
Continue the Starwars adventures. Here they are in Chronological Order-
- Episode 1 : The Phantom Menace
- Ep 2 Attack of The Clones
-Episode 3: Revenge Of The Sith
-Obi Wan
- Solo
- Rogue One
-Ep 4 A New Hope
-Ep 5 The Empire Strikes Back
- Ep 6 Return Of The Jedi
- The Mandalorian
- Book of Boba Fett
-Ashoka
-Ep 7 The Force Awakens
- Ep 8 The Last Jedi
- Ep 9 Rise of Skywalker
What a great view of seeing Vader as pure evil at this point. I had not thought of this as a moment to see Vader at his full relentless military tank style of being,
Brava!
Also, the AT Walkers were defeated easier than before because the X-wing are stronger than the T47 airspeeders on the Hoth.
yeah, too bad the Rebels didn't have any fighters at Hoth
Yes and no.
The ones we see at Scariff are AT-aCTs (All Terrain Armoured Cargo Transports) mainly to move kybers and other valuable cargo around.
AT-ATs (All Terrain Armoured Transport) are military-grade, with stronger plating and far superior weapon systems.
Snow Speeders.
Good to see hella is back, thought she was being replaced. If you want to watch the other movies, by all means, feel free to do so.
This is a better film than I expexted, hope you are enjoying this journey, hope you keep continuing! 💜
Great reaction. Love this movie. Making a straight up war movie as a Star Wars lead in story was brilliant.
Remember, the Force will be with you, Always
RIP James Earl Jones. Absolute legend.

Also, Chi, Peter Cushing, the actor who played Grand Tarkin, passed away in 1994, If I remember correctly, so, they'd used CGI to resurrect the character for this movie
Yes, please keep watching all the new Star Wars Shows and Movies! I Love Obi Wan series especially!
Really enjoying these reactions. I hope you will continue the series
everyone "how is a rohbotic slow moving Vader a terror in the galaxy?"
Vader: rogue one. saber drop
@@BetterDays-e8h _"Good is a point of view..."_
They guy who says "you just wtach yoursel" and the alien he is with are the ones who approach Luke in ep IV and get and arm slice by Obi-Wan
16:28
"Their Clothes Reminds Me Of The Nazis"
Well, Chi, that's exactly who George Lucas had modeled the Galactica Empire on. And not just the designs of The Clothes but also the colors that are used.
Even the title of Stormtroopers was directly lifted from The Nazis because that's what the SS were also called
The best Star Wars movie in my opinion, its a miracle how Disney managed to NOT ruin this one.
Hi Chi and Hella,
yes that was CGI for princess Leia.
I cried the first time I watched this movie. One of my favourite Star Wars movies. Ladies, if you'd like, you can watch the controversial sequel trilogy. But I'd recommend you watch The Mandalorian series.😊😊😊
I would love to see you react to the final trilogy, and then explore the MANDALORIAN and BOBO FETT series. You will absolutely love THE MANDALORIAN.
Chi those earrings are brilliant!!
🌸🌸
9:42 Did you recognize the two who bumped into Jyn? Those are the 2 thugs from the bar in the first movie that were bullying Luke, and Obi-Wan cut them down with his lightsaber.
Hello Movie Munchies, hello everyone.
Hello.
Some Star Wars Fan Films ! Kenobi starring Jamie Costa as Ben, The Boba Fett Fan film where he's in the pit, Birth of a monster, Rebel Scum, Eternal and there's a lot more of them.
Yes watch the rest of them. Best channel on youtube 💯 shout out from New Zealand
two of my favorite reaction girls watching one of my favorite movies, what more could one ask for? 😃 it was really cute how Hella reacted to the tropical planet Sarif with the waterfall haha....nice vacation ha? I don't think you both know just how much happiness you bring, just by how wonderful you are, thank-you so much 🙏 edit: and please please please please please more Star Wars that's the main reason I subscribed
I love Hela she is so georgeous and dresses like a princess 🥰
I think you two have had the best of the Star Wars Saga. IDK what else you could watch, and I wouldn't be bothered if you watched the new trilogy, but I think you got everything important.
Thank you for completing the story John Knoll!
37:22 this is my favorite scene of rogue one, when darth Vader shows 🆙
Hella didn’t seem to notice that Princess Leia was CGI - and both ladies didn’t seem to notice that Mof Tarkin was CGI as Peter Cushing died in 1994 and Carrie Fisher passed away 2 weeks after Rogue One was released
I love rogue 1. There are so much cool troopers designs here.
I look forward to all your reactions, especially Star Wars - please keep reacting!
27:45 "the blind guy is so cool" the blind guy is played by Donnie Yen, if you like him then, i would highly recommend movie's of his, specially the--
Ip Man
The sequel trilogy takes a piss on the first 2 trilogy, for that reason I can't recommend it, but I'll watch if you do. Now, the Clone Wars cartoon. That's damn good.
Hella is just an Angel of cuteness.
100% agree, Andor is one of the best shows I have ever watched in any context.
The Mandalorian S1 and S2. No?
@@hanzo2001 Just feel if they’re thinking of doing any of the shows best to do the best one out of the bunch. Mandolorian is alright but let’s not get into kenobi
I feel like that show is going to go over their heads. Rogue One is exactly the kind of base-level, mass appeal, common denominator cheese that gets reactions out of them; Andor would probably leave them asking lots of questions and lots of comments of people explaining everything to them.
@@ThatSamoanGuy Apart from them forgetting names constantly I think they have proven themselves well enough. I haven’t really been disappointed with any of their reactions apart from maybe one. They can tell intentions apart, I think usually they get enough out of the subtext of things to get the point of the movies.
The actor that plays the blind fighter Cherro, Chiro, or Churro, Cherio, Charo, I don’t know, anyway, he’s Donnie Yen, a great famous martial artist and actor like Jackie Chan and Jet Li, you should see Iron Monkey, Ip Man, Rumble in the Bronx, Fist of Legend, Fearless
Chirrut.
I like watching Donnie Yen movies, I was happy to see him in this one! He asked his kids if he should take this part or continue with Ip Man series, they wanted him in star wars! Thanks for sharing
I loved the happy ending ❤. 😂
Ps. Donnie Yen is awesome in this 👏
