    Chi, yes the Nazis were very interested in the occult. Himmler, head of the Gestapo and the SS was especially interested in the topic. He sent out agents to find all sorts of artifacts. Even the Nazi Swastika had elements of the occult. Not only was it a symbol of good fortune in Europe and the US but it was also a religious symbol in India and Christianity.

    • @Varzaak
      @Varzaak 4 месяца назад +18

      Hitler wasn't into the occult. In a home movie in Berchtesgaden, in a conversation between Hitler and Sepp Deitrich, Hitler remarked that he thought all of these occult diggings that Himmler was funding was ridiculous. Which if you look at it he let his inner circle have pet hobbies that the Reich would fund. This fact was uncovered when a group of historians brought in a German lip reader to watch the films. Then they used AI to recreate Hitler's speaking voice from the famous Mannerheim recording.

    Fun Fact, the ending kind of comes out of nowhere because there was a deleted scene where the translator tells Indiana Jones that you're not supposed to look at the ark when it is opened, this is because in Judaism viewing the Ark is essentially looking at the face of God which mortals can't comprehend.

If he came across one, he'd catch it and bring it to the house for me and my sister to touch. He would then release the snake into what we called a corn crib, a structure he stored corn in that hadn't been removed from the cob yet, where the snake hopefully kept mice away from the corn.

    The huge German guy fighting Indy by the plane was played by Pat Roach, a British actor and pro wrestler. Roach also played a big Sherpa who fights Indy in Marion's bar in Nepal. Roach is also in Temple of Doom and very briefly in The Last Crusade.

    Here is a fact that might surprise you just as it surprised me about the scene with the swordsmen. Spielberg intended for it to be a fight scene to show off Indy as someone who can hold his own in a fight. One problem though. That morning when they were doing the takes Harrison Ford was severely sick. He did the fight sequence a couple of times but was too weak to keep going. Spielberg needed to get the scene done so he let Ford decide what to do and instead of a fight Harrison decided to pull his gun instead. Spielberg laughed so hard he actually fell out of his chair and this became the scene that went into the movie.

Thank you so much for the enjoyable evening.

They only read the message from the one side of the medallion that got burned into his hand; they didn't know that the reverse side said to change the staff length.

    Little fun fact, at 16:30 they had a whole choreographied fight but Harrison was sick that day and didnt felt like it so he improvised just shooting the bad guy wich they kept after all 🙃 also if i can help with this scare of snakes wich seems pretty intense haha, most snakes are harmless, snakes know they cant eat something bigger then the largest part of their body so unless you are attacking or threatening them, theyre pretty gentle, especially non venomous one wich only 10-15% out of every species actually are 😉 this was so fun, hope yall do the other ones, its such a good franchise 😁

    The German soldier who is 'killed' by the aeroplane propeller is English wrestler and actor Pat Roach. He has other memorable screen fights, against Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan the Destroyer, and Sean Connery as James Bond in the unofficial bond film Never Say Never Again. In the UK he is well known for his role in the 1980's TV series Auf Wiedersehen Pet. He makes a return visit in Indiana Jones at the Temple of Doom and a very brief appearance in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

    A lot of these 80s movies that you watch, I was a small boy in the 80s. It's my childhood, so it's fun seeing them with people who haven't seen them before. Your reactions are very innocent, like a child like spirit. Maybe your Asian upbringing exposes you to less than what America's see. But it's refreshing to see. You've seen a lot of Steven Spielberg films! Maybe someday his popular film E.T. (original theatrical release, no cgi!). Many children of the 80's have very fond memories and a special place in our heart for E.T.🤗
