Chi, yes the Nazis were very interested in the occult. Himmler, head of the Gestapo and the SS was especially interested in the topic. He sent out agents to find all sorts of artifacts. Even the Nazi Swastika had elements of the occult. Not only was it a symbol of good fortune in Europe and the US but it was also a religious symbol in India and Christianity.

    • @Varzaak
      @Varzaak 8 месяцев назад +23

Hitler wasn't into the occult. In a home movie in Berchtesgaden, in a conversation between Hitler and Sepp Deitrich, Hitler remarked that he thought all of these occult diggings that Himmler was funding was ridiculous. Which if you look at it he let his inner circle have pet hobbies that the Reich would fund. This fact was uncovered when a group of historians brought in a German lip reader to watch the films. Then they used AI to recreate Hitler's speaking voice from the famous Mannerheim recording.

Here is a fact that might surprise you just as it surprised me about the scene with the swordsmen. Spielberg intended for it to be a fight scene to show off Indy as someone who can hold his own in a fight. One problem though. That morning when they were doing the takes Harrison Ford was severely sick. He did the fight sequence a couple of times but was too weak to keep going. Spielberg needed to get the scene done so he let Ford decide what to do and instead of a fight Harrison decided to pull his gun instead. Spielberg laughed so hard he actually fell out of his chair and this became the scene that went into the movie.

If he came across one, he'd catch it and bring it to the house for me and my sister to touch. He would then release the snake into what we called a corn crib, a structure he stored corn in that hadn't been removed from the cob yet, where the snake hopefully kept mice away from the corn.

It's such fun to see your reactions to this old classic film, glad you found it exciting. When I was 8 years old, my favorite possessions were my .22 rifle and my 10 foot bullwhip. I never used the whip for a rope like Indiana Jones, but I did get really accurate with it. It was a time before video games, so I had plenty of time on my hands. The '70s was a much different time and we '70s kids were a lot different, too. We'd break a leg and walk it off, if you know what I mean. ;)

Guys... seriously, you HAVE to subscribe to their Patreon account. You have no idea what you're missing.
Watching their full reaction to many of the movies I loved growing up has reminded me why I got passionate about filmmaking as a young man.
And they have such great chemistry together.
Hella, Chi and Tian all have unique interesting personalities. It makes their reaction videos 3x more fun to watch. - I actually had to re-watch several of their reactions just to see how each of them reacted individually.

Perfection MM. so much fun-II warned/recommended Indiana Jones when I learned of your love of Snakes. 31:08 is just the best. Snakes are bad. Mummies are worst. Mummies with snakes coming out of their mouths. The worst!!! Raiders of the Lost Ark was Heaven for teenage boys, we had never seen anything like it before. Iconic film and indiana Jones is considered one of the best movies characters ever created. Love me some MM.

23:19 "Maybe they can use that?"
They already had. That is how they had the medallion that only had markings on one side, which caused them to not have the information on the missing reverse side, causing them to have the incorrect measurements and to dig in the wrong place.

When my parents, my brother and I saw Raiders at the theater in 1981. My mother during the Well of the Souls scene put her up or the chair in front of her.
The did delete the reflection on the plate of glass between Indy and the cobra.

Little fun fact, at 16:30 they had a whole choreographied fight but Harrison was sick that day and didnt felt like it so he improvised just shooting the bad guy wich they kept after all 🙃 also if i can help with this scare of snakes wich seems pretty intense haha, most snakes are harmless, snakes know they cant eat something bigger then the largest part of their body so unless you are attacking or threatening them, theyre pretty gentle, especially non venomous one wich only 10-15% out of every species actually are 😉 this was so fun, hope yall do the other ones, its such a good franchise 😁

03:44 Hella realizing that 2 pound bag of sand could not possibly weigh the same as that 45 pound solid gold statue.
And realizing the medallion burn scar on the guys hand is how they acquired the information to locate the ark. But only having one side of the info needed. Hella smart 👍

23:10 "Maybe they can use that." They did! That's why the Nazis' staff had been too long, and therefore they were digging in the wrong place. They only read the message from the one side of the medallion that got burned into his hand; they didn't know that the reverse side said to change the staff length.

A lot of these 80s movies that you watch, I was a small boy in the 80s. It's my childhood, so it's fun seeing them with people who haven't seen them before. Your reactions are very innocent, like a child like spirit. Maybe your Asian upbringing exposes you to less than what America's see. But it's refreshing to see. You've seen a lot of Steven Spielberg films! Maybe someday his popular film E.T. (original theatrical release, no cgi!). Many children of the 80's have very fond memories and a special place in our heart for E.T.🤗

Amazing reaction to this classic. And all it took was a few thousand snakes. ❤❤❤ 33:24 Synchronized four part vocal inflections... "OOH-ooh_Ooh-Oh!" there. I would assume that is a natural Vietnamese language expression, like most Western English speaking people would say "Oh my God" or "Holy Sh*t" at a surprise explosion?

I'm really glad you are going through all the classics. All of these movies have been a nostalgia trip. It reminds me of my childhood back when I would pop a VHS tape / CD on the weekends and watch it with my older siblings. I recommend giving "Napolean Dynamite" next for an awkward comedy vibe. Or perhaps some Jackie Chan movies? I grew up on them. They're amazing! Keep the movies coming Chi, Hella, and Tien! You rock!
