Don't forget Rhonda, that Manly is well known as a Rugby League city. Btw I'm sure I heard a tui just as you arrived in that little bay.. Or was it my imagination.? Um I guess it's my imagination. Luckily you've arrived at the start of winter, so most of the snakes etc are hibernating, so I guess it's OK to run around barefoot. Again thank you for sharing your adventures. Take care and all the very best from over the ditch. Cheers.
James I'm so pleased you found someone to share these adventures with. I saw your video when you set sail heartbroken a few years ago. Wish you both the best
Hi Rhonda and James! the sound at 3:50 minutes is the Eastern Whipbird (male calling).Very rare and special sound. I was visiting my son who lives in Coolum beach and I heard it too.Cheers and love from Norway.
Living a life I could only dream about James and crew. Glad for you both. You show me so much of the world to see and it honestly makes me cry inside knowing I will likely never have such a chance.
the second you believe it can’t happen is when it will truly never happen don’t lose faith it’s never to late to do the things you want in life id rather die trying then give up on doing what i love
Thank you! I'm over 1900 miles north of Sydney and you're showing me great things that I haven't seen in my own country :) Looking forward to your journey up our spectacular east coast.
Your videos are such a delight, James ! And, I’m happy that you found someone to share your adventures with! Wishing you and Rhonda much happiness, love, laughter and happy sailing!🙂
@SailorJames I live in Puerto Penasco! From Phoenix. Have been following since you left LA. When my flip flops get wet and dry. They sound like that! I Crack up! And say I sound like the Tritea guy! Much love and safe travels to you both! 😊
My favourite sailing channel! Enjoy the next adventures with Rhonda. Always a pleasure to see your uploads. Dreams do come true! I hope to be sailing the South Pacific in the future. Thanks for sharing, James. 🎉
Alberg 30 is a proven world crosser. In 2015 I was finalizing the sale of 1967 Alberg 30 on Lake Superior when I got the cancer diagnosis. Been a long 8 1/2 year battle but I’m still here and just found some pictures of the old girl while I was cleaning and inspecting. Sail on folks. 😊
We really dig Rhonda's Narration bits...keep doing that...Great Vid edit...now if we can get Barry (Adventures Of An Old Seadog) crewed up with a lass....the universe will be aligned!
I’ve been watching for awhile, James you are definitely one of best at showing life on a sailing vessel, I enjoy reading your sailing posts & your passages, it helped me find a 27’ Newport that sail on a lake & I can only imagine how much you I would love to sail in the ocean, many folks watch your videos because of the great content, now you will be having some one to share this with, thank you both, it’s going to be a great journey
G'day James and Rhonda! Welcome to our awesome country!! And thanks for bringing me along with you on this epic adventure guy's! Can not wait to see what else you both get up to in this amazing place!! Enjoy guy's cheers
LOVING the new features you guys are adding - especially the historical commentary (by Rhonda on this one), cooking stuff too (not a biggie for me personally), etc! Keep it up. Mahalo from HI!
So good to see Rhonda with you. It is so HARD to travel the World Single Handed! LOL. Good on you guys. Soooo good to see you have found love in the South Pacific
Hi James.. I always stay at store beach when I go to Sydney.. it's beautiful..and there's a penguin colony there...I met you in Woolworth at Nelson Bay.
Sweet! Glad to see you guys back together on Tritea. Something cool for some Monday evening viewing here in the beautiful Ozark mountains. Y’all help us get away without actually getting away man. Lol. We love and look forward to these vids. Thanks to the both of you for the escape.
Man I just found your channel and I just want to thank you for giving me some hope. I’m 37yrs old and spent my life working in offices with little to show for it. So many channels like this are people ~10 years younger than me living their dreams and it always makes me feel like I missed my chance. I’ve always been drawn to the ocean but grew up in the Midwest and now live in the AZ desert… so the impossible dream still sort of feels… well.. impossible. I have so many questions about how you did this, I still don’t understand how someone can afford to maintain this for months or years at a time without going back to a job at some point. I have an incredible urge to just quit my job and spend all I have saved towards something like this. Anyway thanks again just for showing me that there’s still a chance! I hope I can make my 40s as incredible as yours have been.
Here is a mini series I made to try and answer a lot of the repeat questions I get : THE CRUISING DREAM: A Mini Series ruclips.net/p/PLm0chdAnUTpzi31bjtb87RXhazWwxzNVq
@@SailorJames thanks for replying! I actually started watching that series before commenting. I’m still curious what you did for work before making this life change, did you grow up near a coast in LA? I feel like just living near a coast is damn near unattainable these days. I make ~70k a year which used to be decent but now I can’t even afford a mortgage. Sorry, I don’t mean to complain lol. I haven’t given up hope or anything and your videos have re-lit that fire in me so thanks again. Wherever you are currently please take a minute to just breathe in the ocean air for me, as I sit here staring at this computer screen surrounded by brick walls lol.
Have to give you credit James, I’m sure that last leg of your journey would have been better with Rhonda on board, but you have integrity to your original goal. Sailing that entire distance solo. Many would have folded thinking it would be nothing to have part of your journey with someone else… you didn’t. You accomplished your SOLO journey as planned. Well done mate! Welcome aboard Rhonda, you two look very happy!! Good sailing to you both! 🤠👍🏼☮️
Solo sailing isn’t worse or better, it’s simply different. I do not believe the last three years of my life where lacking because I was single, I was happy and content being alone. This is a new chapter of life with another person and it’s wonderful to share this life with someone you love but it does not mean my previous chapter was “not as good” it was just something different than this new chapter.
@@SailorJamesthis cannot be overstated. I’ve found that when I’m most content is when something (or someone…) appears in my life to make a good thing even better.

You're probably too far north now, but Pittwater is the real gem in the sydney area. Sooo much to explore-- but don't tell anyone, they'll all want to come. Also, in NSW, watch out for the water police pulling you over for not wearing a lifejacket in the dinghy. If there is one of you in the dinghy you have to wear a life jacket-- it is not enough to have one in the dinghy-- over $100 fine! I know, I got one! Phil

Lovely couple of days, I envy you sleeping on the harbour. There are a lot of stories of the Quarantine Station being haunted. Shame that its almost winter already.
Was so random to see you on the street in sydney. Tall skinny bearded bloke. I really should have told you of the mooring that’s been free in double bay for 1.5 years, only ever has visitors use it.
Ah a pity you couldn’t make it down to Tassie, as it’s a real cruising destination to explore. I too have a 30ft boat (1974 Swanson 30), which has been previously extensively raced (offshore races ie. S2Hs), let alone cruised inc a passage to and return from NZ. Currently we are only doing club races on it but when possible we will go cruising on it as well.
😊hey, fantastic. No longer a singlehanded sailor. Much safer and MUCH more fun to have someone to share the adventures with. And some of my fondest memories was making love on deck while under way mid ocean. Talk about privacy.

That's awesome James. I'm happy for you Brother. Single handing does get old at a point and sometimes that company you have is invaluable.

Its a pity that the sun wasn't out and the surf up, when you were in Manly, as its a great beach in the summer.
I bet it’s an amazing beach on a sunny day !!!
